Aubre paused for a minute. Turning her green eyes up to Frai, she smiled, even if the shadows cast by her hoody did make it invisible. Was he being truthful? He seemed to be. "Not everyone thinks that. I know of some ve--ry sore los---ers." Leo was at the top of that list. followed by her tantrum throwing father, of course when he was done crying he puffed up his ego and laughed about losing. She hadn't asked him to lose, not at all. She just wanted to make sure that if she won, which with her hesitancy was a long shot, he would not try to murder her. Letting her face trail back to the ground she began counting rocks, along with Revelation's wingbeats. 1..2..3.4...5...6...7...
Achilles growled in frustration. What was taking her so long to order him to do something. he could have won on his own by now. deciding to take his frustration with his trainer out on someone else he turned to the peanut gallery, who were all cheering for the opposition. Traitors. <She lied to you Pyric.> So what if he lied? Girls normally went gaga for little Pokemon like the Chikorita and the Torchic. They didn't go 'awwww' when they saw a tooth filled yellow monster. One who was sparking, and willing to bite anyone that came near. The leer did its job, and caused Achilles to take a step back. Of course Revelation wasn't really angry. It was a act.
Achilles was shocked when the rest of a countdown rang quietly through the clearing. Female, and quiet. His trainer's voice no less. Louder then normal. "9...10.....11....12..." What the hell was she doing, trying to teach him how to count. Growling he turned back to the Scyther, the now paralyzed one. His turn! His bottom half was quivering, mostly from that Quick attack. Rearing back to attack he was shocked to hear the girl's voice, pipe up at a almost normal decibel.
"Pound Achilles." Those words were like music to his ears. Running forward he lowered his head. Then with a pumping of his back legs went into a somersault, static sparks racing along his tail, and fell. Like a demonic volleyball.
Aubre's head had turned to Linzee, thats how it was. Alright,.They had had the stage long enough, they all needed the experience after all. Besides Aubre was frightened of anything that came of this battle. Win or lose. Of course what wasn't the redhead scared of now days? Even puppies scared her. Even her own shadow scared her, and in this moment her own aggressive Pokemon scared her. That gleam in his eyes reminded her of something..a houndoom to be exact. One that had been enjoying itself. He;d grow out of it though, all he needed was to lose. (465)

Frai blinked and nodded. "Losing can only make you stronger," he said cheerfully. He'd like to win, but he really wouldn'tve cared if he did lose. Just as long as he didn't let Revelation faint, he'd be fine. He narrowed his eyes when she began to count under her breath. His ears were sensitive to her now, knowing that she was so quiet. What was she doing? He adjusted his glasses and held onto his right arm that he couldn't feel anymore.
Fandon blinked and glared at the Statilee. <Hey! You're just jealous that we're rooting for Revelation! At least he's nicer than you are!> he trumpeted, his trunk high and ears flat, trying to look mean. It really wasn't working too well. Maybe when he was a Donphan it could...but not now.
Frai smirked as he saw the dragon take a few steps back. Revelation smirked too, his wings buzzing harshly. It sounded like a huge swarm of small bugs, it was so loud. He used it to intimidate his foes more often than even Frai realized. But he was seeing it now, and he smirked. Although it would be incredibly hard to intimidate Achilles, because he was more intimidating than any pokemon Revelation had met before, and it really isn't too easy for him to admit to stuff like that. The mantis narrowed his eyes.
Frai almost jumped out of his skin, he was so surprised when Aubre used normal volume for her attack. He blinked and suddenly grinned, feeling suddenly happy for the girl. Great! She was actually louder now! Maybe that meant she was more confident! He watched the Statilee ball himself up and jump high into the air. "Rev, dodge it!" he barked. Revelation's moves were slightly sluggish seeing that he couldn't use his right scythe, but he dodged it narrowly, the Pokemon's body scraping his wing. Frai blinked. "Leer again!" he barked. If he wasn't going to have Revelation keep becoming worse in paralysis, he needed a one hit KO.

Pyric looked at Achilles, wanting to make a comeback like Fandon had, but couldn't. His dark eyes filled with tears. Maybe he wasn't cute. Maybe it was all lies. He looked at his feet, his feathers fluffing up, and tried not to let anyone see his tears run down his soft face.
Linzee, despite the fact she was watching the battle, noticed right away when Pyric started crying. She might not be as connected to him as Frai was to Revelation, but the two did share a bond, and she could usually tell when someone was upset. She noticed the way the small fire-chicken looked at Achilles, and knew it was that yellow monster's fault her baby was crying. She scooted over to Pyric, cradling him against her chest, and felt the tears flow faster now, wetting her shirt.
"It's ok, sweetie," She said softly, running a hand over the back of his head, fingers rubbing his feathers soothingly, "Whatever that thing said to you, it wasn't true." She shot a glare at Achilles, and then at Aubre. She couldn't help but say something.
"Hey, maybe you should teach that thing some manners." She spat, not caring that she was disrupting the battle.

Losing could only make you stronger. Unless you had no confident. Then it taught you nothing ,but how it felt to want to dissolve into the ground. Of course at the moment she didn't feel like the gravel she was rolling around with her foot. The smile on her face was still there. She wasn't very happy--but tentatively so. So what if she lost?Achilles would stop being so cocky, and she;d have no reason to be frightened if Frai became angry. Who became angry when they won after all? Not a lot of people Aubre knew. "No--t always. Some--times it can turn you psycho--pathic." Leo was the only proof she had of this, but it was enough, the scars adding evidence to her creed.
Achilles turned to the little pachyderm. A smile on his face. <That would be insulting if I wanted to be nice. I am so--not----jealous. Who would want to be cheered by you fools anyway?> Mean. Yet the slight hesitation showed how true the little blue Pokemon's words were. So what if he was jealous? Who needed them, he'd win and they'd all feel better about him. At least his trainer would, he wasn't big enough to eat her yet. If she proved herself he might not do it when he became a Statidon. Not that he knew what that was. seeing the little bird cry he felt something odd. Guilt, was that it? Mayhaps it was. He had been rather cruel in his statement after all. Of course he wasn't about to apologize either, cruel comfort? That worked. <Wimp. No need to cry.> Baby of a Pokemon it was.
Aubre opened her mouth to yell out a order to leer. Only to take a step back at the poison in Linzee's voice. It wasn't her fault! Was it!? Maybe it was. Oh dear--Achilles being cruel was likely her fault. That was bad. She hadn't meant to pick a rude pokemon, and now someone besides her was crying because of her lack of restraint. Why didn't she pick the nose picking Machop? He would be better then the aggressive Achilles. "Sorry......" Turning her back for a minute she wiped a hand across the bridge of her nose which was now dripping tears. of course it went unheard in her already trembling voice. She was crying though. She had been doing so well to. Reaching one hand under her Hoddy she pulled out the little monster's pokeball. Looking ati t for a second, It wasn't fair to win if you hurt anyone but those you were battling. Not that she had been winning anyhow.
<THAT WASN"T FAIR! Foul!> Achilles had heard men screaming that during one of the sports game the Professor had let on the TV while he was napping one day. What that girl had said wasn't fair. Who knew what Aubre would do.
-- the pidgey fluttered down onto Linzee's lap. patting Pyric on the back with his large tan under toned wing. <Now he was likely only kidding.> Frai had been winning. That dragon did need to b knocked down a few pegs. Yet his trainer seemed rather harmless. It wasn't her fault Achilles was one lacking in common decency. (502)

Frai blinked in surprise before casting her a suspicious look. "What on earth makes you say that? Losing is just as important to a trainer as winning, nobody should go crazy over losing," he said gently, his head cocked to the side. Now he was really starting to wonder about this girl... He blinked and adjusted his glasses.
Fandon growled slightly, his ears flattened on his head. <But you aren't very nice, are you? See?! You made Pyric cry!> he barked out harshly before running to Linzee and the Torchic, his nose giving the little bird a pat. <Don't listen to him, Py> he said reasurringly. He gave a long sideways glare at the Statilee before continuing to comfort his friend.
However, Frai didn't feel quite the same way. He stared as Aubre grabbed the dragon's PokeBall and returned him, wiping tears away in disdain. Frai gritted his teeth and suddenly shot a very menacing glare to Linzee. "That was completely uncalled for Linzee. It's not her fault, it was the Statilee's. How would she have known if he was saying something rude or not? She can't understand him," he growled. He was feeling a bit overprotective over the poor girl. She didn't need any more ego deflatings than she's had, which seemed to be a lot. He turned back to Aubre and walked to her, his arm still stiff and unmoving.
"It wasn't your fault, Aubre," he said gently. "We can keep going if you want, but if you'd like to stop..." he said, blinking softly in concern. The Scyther who was battling just moments ago buzzed to Frai, blinking softly and cocking his head. <She okay?> he asked, concern in his eyes.
Fandon blinked at the Pidgey, giving a grin. <See? Maybe he didn't mean it!> he trumpeted happily.

Linzee felt horrible for what she'd said, but as soon as she felt the guilt, Frai started in on her. She bit her lip, feeling anger wash over her. Then a wave of jealousy when he turned to Aubre. All of that in a few moments. She looked away, so he wouldn't be able to tell if she started to cry.
Pyric stopped crying, giving his trainer and Frai a look, before resuming the tears. For some reason, what Achilles had said had hurt him more than anything else he had ever encountered. But the thought that maybe what Frai had said had hurt Linzee...That made him pause. He got up, stalked over to Frai, and looked upwards, giving him a glare. "Tor!" He snapped, tempted to set him on fire. He pointed at Linzee with his wing, and then started in on a long speech about not hurting other's feelings, though he kinew Frai wouldn't be able to understand a word. So, to get his point across...
He did what he always did in a situation such as this. And blew fire at Frai.

"Personal exper------ience." Now didn't that make her sound psychotic? Now it sounded like she was the one who went insane when she lost. Which wasn't the case, but would second guessing herself make her look more insane then if she just left the statement alone? At the moment she was to busy stopping the tears running down her face. With a last heaving sigh she turned around, only to see Frai berating Linzee. In a voice, steadier then the sobbing had it a few minutes ago she spoke up: "No--she's--I really don'--t mi--nd." If she needed to take her frustaration at her pokemon tears out at someone why not her? She had heard worse. It had just scared her a bit was all.It had been going to well nto to derail.
Achilles said nothing. But decided to make everyoen feel better. Taking a deep breath, and in a voice quieter then the lwoest whisper he, can you belive it? He apologized. <Sorry. Sorry ,you overemotional Pyro chicken.> That wondrous word usually had the power to make others feel better. Of course when wielded by someone who still felt a need to insult others, it tended to lose its magical edge. More often then not those kind of people made situations worse by misusing the words 'please' and 'sorry'. Achilles shook his wedge shaped head, this situation was getting quite out of control. Yet he wasn't going to speak up again, no one listened to him. Nope. Nobody, unless they wanted to be insulted.
Aubre chewed on her lip. "I--ll continue. But not right n--ow." Even if she had known that the pair, Linzee and Pyric, had already received a apology she still would have felt obligated to offer up one of her own: "Sorry about Achilles." She didn't want any hard feelings whe nthat Torchic turned into a vile fire sptting monster. In other words when it evolved she didn't want it to be her enemy. Of course after this why wouldn't he be? Achilles was naughty after all. <She'll be fine. She better be..baby..almsot as bad as Pyric.> Achilles growled. Not turning to indicate who he was speaking to, but it was obvious.
Aubre took a step back as flames blossomed out of the Torchic's beak. Embers or ot they set up that flight o fight reaction in Aubre. Causing her to bakc up .Earlier it had been fine, no anger had been abound. Yet now..what if they turned towards her. Fire was always hungry, and that Houndoom's had found her quite tasty. ----
The Pidgey nodded in agreement with the observation of his fellow companion. Of course when his patting wing fell on empty air he squawked loudly. Pyric hadn't learned not to set fire to things the first time!? Oh dear, in a dry forest like this htat could end up very dangerous! <Pyric..oh why did you do that!?> [/blockquote]

OOC;; I'm forcing Abby to come back in the next round <3 Frai blinked softly and frowned. Personal experience? What had this poor girl gone through? He not once suspected that any portion of the situation she spoke of was her fault, but who knows...he surely didn't know any better...He blinked and looked back at the shy girl, his eyes holding concern. Don't mind? She was sobbing only moments ago, how could she lie so easily like that? He sighed deeply. "Well, okay, if you're sure," he said.
Fandon blinked and narrowed his beady eyes at Achilles. <You'd better be sorry, you little yellow dinosaur!> he said, fuming. Revelation blinked at Fandon and narrowed his own eyes. <Now, now, Fandon, you don't need to make the situation worse. He apologized. This whole situation is over now, and that's that.> The green mantis' head bobbed in agreement to himself, then gave a smirking leer to the Statilee behind him.
<I do hope we can continue this battle later on, Achilles> he remarked. Revelation definately saw him as a potential rival, but also as a team partner, and a very strong Pokemon. Achilles, on the other hand, probably thought nothing of the sort about the green bug but he couldn't care less. He gave a curt nod to the dragon, showing what he felt in a single, simple movement of his head before turning back to Pyric. He smirked when Pyric went on a rant; it was quite amusing to hear such bold, big words from a cute fluffy chicken...
But soon he wasn't so cute, when Frai had only just noticed the Torchic's presence, he blew fire from his mouth. He blinked in surprise, almost frozen in time. Was he really blowing that at him? Oh, God, he was! And the pain that went to his leg was harsh and throbbing. His leg was being engulfed in flames, yet, despite the pain, the only thing Frai Kurusa could do was watch in an almost perverse fascination. His pants were becoming charred, blackened, and a nauseating smell permeated the air.
Fandon trumpeted and threw sand at the burning flesh, where in that time Frai finally barked out a loud moan of pain, gritting his teeth. Revelation, being one with his trainer, also winced as he felt his own mantis leg begin to bubble with fire. The Phanpy continued to throw sand at it and, when the fire was gone, turned harshly to Pyric.
<What was that for?!> he barked, suspicious. Frai's burn wasn't too terrible, just about as bad as Linzee's seeing that Fandon threw dirt at it so quickly. He could tell that his Phanpy was already quite angry at Pyric, and he sighed. This wasn't going too well at all...
"Stop it, Fandon, he's still a kid," he said, looking sternly at his Pokemon. The elephant paused and blinked up at his trainer quizically before blinking. "We don't need any more fighting at all." He limped to his bag and took out a Burn Heal. "C'mere Rev," he said, and the bug buzzed to his trainer, his scythe frozen and his leg burned. Frai cautiously sprayed the Burn Heal onto his leg, which in turn gave both of them the relief they needed. Frai sighed and tossed the bottle away. "There we are. All better." He looked back to Linzee and Aubre and gave a cheery grin. "Now that we're all done feelin' sorry for ourselves, shall we shove on?" he asked, grinning happily as if nothing had happened. That was the only way he could really deal with huge problems like this. Pretend it never really happened.
Oh, how he hated conflict...

Linzee's eyes widened as she saw Pyric set Frai on fire. She might have been hurt, but she didn't want Frai hurt, too.
"I'm so sorry! He didn't mean it," She said quickly, grabbing Pyric away after she noticed his gloating over Frai's burn. She squeezed the bird gently, flicking his wing with her fingers.
"Don't ever do that again, alright?" She said sternly, and put the chicken down when he nodded. He squeked an apology to Fandon, not wanting to lose his friend, and Linzee just stared at the ground. Even Frai's apparent cheerfulness, which she could tell was slightly strained, couldn't make her feel better. Guilt gnawed at her stomach, and tears threatened to spill. This was all her fault.

Aubre acknowledged Frai's statement with a swift nod of her head. She knew she was lying, he likely knew she was lying, but who cared? If it helped make Linzee feel less guilty then that was what she was aiming for. Guilt evolved into a lot of things, lack of confidence, quietness, withdrawal, and often a blaming of oneself for something that was in no way your fault. That sounds oddly familiar does it not? Aubre didn't need that, in fact the group had been gettign along just fine until Grouchy old Achilles decided to be a ass. At least she was pretty sure that was what had occured. She couldn't understand wha he was saying. For all she knew Achilles could have offered Pyric cotton candy, which he was deathly frightnd of, sending him into a fit. Of course from what she knew about Achilles she was very dubious that the comment had been misinterepted.
<As I said before what difference would beign sorry make?I apologized didn't I?> Surprisingly enough he had somehow retained his calm, better then anyone else around here anyway. Fandon was throwing a sandstorm over there, Revelation was well Rev, the Pidgey was freaked, and the Torchic was being firmly chastised. Of course he hadnt bothered to check on the Chikorita. Turning away from the general chaos around Frai's pant leg and he turned towards his trainer. Of course his orange lantern like optics were still focused on the Green mantis, the one with the now bubbling leg. <I do hope so as well , and before we are healed , otherwise that's cheating. Not that I'd even think of it!> In thinking to warn Revelation hadn't he just thought of it?Ironic if Achilles could say so himself.
Aubre said nothing through the whole conversation that followed. She was to busy looking down at Achilles, who growled at her. All right so maybe that battle hadn't helepd their relationship. It was some kind of step though, for better or for worse was really hard to say. Reaching down a hand she paused, she had been so tempted to slap him, but then he'd get very angry at her. Better not to do that. Taking a shaky breath, and veering as far away from Pyric as possible Aubre inched her way towards Linzee. Then when she was within slapping distance she reached out a hand. This took a lot of courage, from the already BRAVE girl, Linzee might just as well smacked her take it.
---- The Pidgey meanwhile stepped forward to Pyric, and fixed him with a level admonishng stare. Yet he said nothing.Fllapping his way over to frai he lifted his beak in the air as he passed the still Achilles. It was HIS fault after all. Little beast. <Feeling better you two?> He inquired, not waiting for a answer before he flapped his wings and alighted onto the slim, blonde, youth's shoulders. This was rather comfy he had to admit. Leaning towards Frai's head he began pulling little bits of debris out of his hair, leaves, and dust and such. Really humans were so unclean.

Abby was jarred from her peaceful dreamland as the scent of smoke tickled her nostrils. With a groan, the wavy-haired teen sat up and glanced around groggily. "Whad Pyric doo noow?" She mumbled irritatedly, peeved that she'd been awaken from her nap. Bailey hopped over, leaf bobbing, and gave Abby a quick snuggle before bouncing off to inspect a shrived wildflower growing by the path's edge.

Frai smirked slightly at the shy young lady. Of course she was lying, but he knew better than to pry into it too much. No way; she would probably just lie some more anyway. None of his buisness, but he really couldn't help but feel quite protective over Aubre. He really had no idea why, but he was beginning to feel like she was his sister. And seeing that he was an only child, he never really had that kind of interaction, and he craved it like a hungry man begging out in the streets. He smirked to himself and readjusted his glasses.
Fandon blinked and narrowed his beady black orbs at the little monster Achilles. <You'd better watch it, bub,> he said threateningly. It really was a pretty funny sight; after all, a baby pachyderm wasn't all that intimidating, especially one who had never been in a real battle before himself. His blue harks flapped softly in the wind as he stood upright, glaring hard at the yellow Pokemon. He then turned to the orange chicken and blinked slightly when he apologized.
<You shouldn't be apologizing to me, Pyric,> he stated, lifting his trunk to the now healed Frai. Such wise words for one so young as he was! He cocked his head and gave a suddenly happy grin, making him seem quite bipolar. <But I know he forgives you~!> he trumpeted cheerfully. He, too, didn't want to lose a good friend yet. No way.
He suddenly cantered over to Bailey happily, motioning with his trunk for Pyric to follow. <Whatcha lookin' at?> he asked, his trunk extending softly to inspect the flower with curiosity only found in a baby as young as he was.
Revelation blinked softly at the yellow demon and gave a soft nod. <Fair fights are the only fights to be had. True strength is the only good strength, and it can only be measured through fair conditions.> He blinked again and turned back to Frai, his head cocked slightly. Frai blinked and turned to his partner. "You need a Paralyz Heal, bud?" he asked, and Rev shook his green skull, his eyes penetrating his partner. <I can hold out until we get to the next stop> he buzzed, his wings vibrating. Frai seemed to understand and flopped a hand onto the mantis' head. "If you're sure." He then turned to Linzee, who suddenly seemed to be on the verge of tears.
And Aubre was holding out a hand.
Frai suddenly felt his heart expand with pride. Good girl, breaking out of her shell, at least for a moment! He just prayed that Linzee wouldn't do something stupid...but she seemed quite bright, and nice enough. Just...protective of her Torchic. He smiled. That was a good thing, she just needed to learn how to channel it. He blinked then to Abby, who seemed to be just waking up. She grumbled something about Pyric and flopped back, making him snort. "You've missed a lot, Abby," he said, laughing. She probably should've been watching the battle, at least for her own benefit...
He blinked at the wild Pidgey who fluttered and roosted on his shoulder and picked the leaves and other debris from his blond hair. He smiled kindly and laughed. "Thanks, bud," he said cheerfully, patting his feathery head lightly, as to show kindness but not to scare him off. Revelation grinned. <Heh, looks like you'd fit in pretty well here> he said cheerfully, giving the Pidgey kitsune eyes.

Achilles turned to the little Phanpy. Narrowing his eyes he was in a temporary string contst with the annoying little thing, until it turned away that was. It was scared of him. Of course it was nothing but a baby, it had every right to be! The little yelow dragon found himself intimidating sometimes. Not that he had a mirror usually. <Of course I will! You act like I am a vile monster.> His orange eyes seemed to be watering, and free of any intention of being mean. Of course as he turned back to looking at the trees his face acquired a toothy smile, and he licked his lips.
Now he was the utter picture of a friend. That was when Revelation started speaking., his eyes free of anger, or even their normal arrogance. <Well thne, I guess you lose.> That scyther wouldn't win against him if he played fair. Especially with the electricity tickling his ears, and mouth. The little spark had been natural, this was more of a itching to win, and now his new best friend. Thundershock, he needed to try it out later. Fandon wouldn't be hurt by it, he could convince the little Phanpy to hold still no doubt, dangle a pienut berry in front of his nose.
Aubre started to pull her hand back. She had been expecting a slap after all the yelling that had been done. Yet when she felt the girls warm hand wrap around hers she was openly relieved, a sigh escaping from her mouth. Nodding slowly at Linzee she opened her mouth. "A tru--ce, but we-- weren--'t fighting corr--ect?" The fight had been pretty one sided, so there was no need for a truce, in a battle between Aubre and anyone, wihout pokemon, Aubre was destined to lose. Of course since she didn't wish to win, she was quite alright with that.
A truce was only temporary. Linzee already didn't like her, now what was she going to do? Hope that Torchic never evolved, and tried to murder her that's what. "it--s gett--ing dar-k we should proba--bly ge--t a mo--ve on." She hated sleeping outside at night, that was when the stray pokemon in the towns woke up, an started to wander around, and she couldn't sttand stray pokemon! Most of them were dogs afterall! Maybe they could have Linzee and Abby have a battle? Something to help them before they reached the gym? It would be unwise to walk in untrained.
--- <You're welcome.> Looking to the scyther, he nodded. Ignoring the odd look, but he did stay eprched on Frai's shoulders.

The commotion caused by the trainers had caused a lot of interested pokemon to come and watch. However, for the most part, these wild pokemon were too cowardly to approach, since those pokemon seemed powerful. Very powerful. That wasn't to say that route one lacked pokemon willing to fight, it was packed full of them. That was evident when three pokemon leapt from the bushes; two Meowth and a Dia. The Meowths glanced at the Dia, which was obviously the leader, before it nodded and said simply: <well, they are disturbing the peace. Get them.>
The meowths launched themselves at Frai and Aubre, while the Dia looked at them approvingly. What the Dia had forgotten, was that a third trainer was there, thus calling herself into action. She frowned, as she hadn't expected to have to fight. Yet, she was the strongest of the group of three pokemon, so eventually she decided upon targeting the last of the three trainer, Linzee. She didn't fancy fighting Pyric; she hated getting burnt. Regardless, it didn't matter, she would take care of him. <Prepare yourself, Torchic.>
