With a small bounce of joy, Bailey darted after Phandon, tiny mint green legs pounding the ground as she struggled to catch up with the gun-jumping little elephant. <Hey! I didn't say "go" yet!> The Chikorita chirped in mock indignation; honestly, Bailey didn't care as long as there was someone to race with, as the large grin plastered across her face served to tell.

Abby watched intently as the battle began, amber orbs trained on Frai, who was ordering Revelation to use Leer. Her gaze flickered over the tattered green mantis and his trainer to the opposing side of the make-shift arena, where they remained, waiting to see what impact Leer had on the aloof yellow reptile known as Achilles.

Aubre noticed the change in Frai. Yet figured he was just excited to be battling. She on the other hand was half terrified, it didn't matter how well she could fight. What if she made Frai mad? She really didn't want to do that, but a battle had started all of her problems, and with Leo in jail she figured her problems to be over. She didn't want another psychopath after her just because they had lost. Frai didn't seem like that. "Achilles, leer." The order was whispered, and her voice trembled while she did it, but for a odd reason the dragon listened.
Achilles narrowed both of his eyes and took a step forward, his claws digging into the ground as he did so. For good measure he channeled a few sparks into his feet and sent little static charges from his feet into the ground. Besides that his head was covered by a demonic smile, much like the one he had shown to the pidgey earlier on. He was hungry, for victory anyway, maybe if he won they could get a few tidbits out of Aubre. Although he himself was confused, why had Revelation and his 'friend' undergone such a drastic change when the battle began? Was there something else going on here? Probably. <Aren't you going to do anything? I want to see what she can do,I know I could kick your green bug but on my own easily> Overconfidence? Maybe. Smart to say?Probably not.
Aubre had made a deal with herself in her mind. She would not cut off the battle in the middle, but she also wouldn't launch the first attack. She had battled like that before, dodging and protecting her Pokemon from moves and countering with a powerful attack when they least expected it. Of course back then she had attacked as well, not just in self defense. Closing her green eyes she listened, to the buzzing of Revelation's wings, she needed a change and a attack. Then she would see if she could still time properly, judging from where Achiles was...was he moving! HE WAS! "stay p--l--ease Achiles." Confused the dragon looked up and fixed his closed eyed trainer with a glare, but he stopped moving.
--- The pidgey meanwhile had flown to the tree the other trainers were resting near and alighted on Linzy's shoulder. <Come on Revelation.Show the overgrown lizard who is the best contender here.> So it was rather obvious whose side hew as on. As it was for everyone else. Aubre knew that, she was to shy to care at th moment though, if Leo ever managed to get out then she herself would need to be ready, but she had YEARS until that happened. At least two. (459)

Revelation narrowed his eyes when Achilles gave him a leer as well. He lowered his head at the dragon. Of course, he widened his stance too, not even noticing that the little dragon was sending electric sparks through the ground. It was small, just static, but when it got to Revelation, both bug and man crumpled, both cried out. Frai gritted his teeth and stood up, trying to shake it off. He twitched slightly; after all, he did just get mildly electrocuted...
Ah, but the pause in the overeager Statilee's movement gave both of the opponents an edge. Frai shook off the blow and narrowed his eyes, ready to command, his Scyther ready to listen. It was almost artistic how they worked together in tandem.
<You speak bold words, Achilles...> the mantis gritted his teeth, glaring at the yellow thing. <Now can you back it up?!> he barked, immediately doing what Frai was saying right at the time. "Rev, use a quick attack!" he barked, and the mantis was off, a glow of bright white light behind him, showing where he was moving. The cheering of the Pidgey empowered the bug, making him even a little faster. Was he cheering for him because his opponent tried to eat him for lunch? Probably. Did he care? Not really. Frai hoped that the frontal attack would connect; this could make or break the battle; any move could.
He really wasn't worried about Achilles; judging from the way Revelation seemed furious with him, he probably needed to get some manners. He really was worried about Aubre; he actually didn't really want her to lose. She seemed to actually be a good trainer; she just didn't pick a winner Pokemon in the personality department. She too, seemed to have experience. Frai was ready, though.
Of course, Fandon really wasn't paying attention like he probably should. He was racing as fast as he could agains the little plantlike creature. He laughed and trumpeted the whole way, even though he wasn't sure he was winning or not. Really, he didn't care; couldn't care in the least, nope...

Linzee hugged Pyric to her chest, excitment making her heart beat faster. She wasn't sure who she wanted to win. On one hand, Achilles deserved to get beat up for acting the way he did, but on the other hand...Aubre didn't seem to have much confidence. So, as Pyric struggled, his eyes wide as he watched the two, neither she nor her pyro chicken were sure who to root for. Not that they had to, or planned on it. It would be just as interesting to watch and see what the others she was traveling with were capable of. She told herself she'd have to ask someone for a battle soon, too.

Aubre's eyes flashed open like a broken shutter when the two companions cried out. Looking around she was surprised to find Achilles had absolutely nothing to do with it. Why had they fallen to the ground, had they hurt themselves on the walk here. Did her pokemon somehow telepathically attack them? Whatever it was it likely was her fault. Turning her head back down to her feet she came back to battle the second she heard the two pokemon begin speaking again. Somewhere in between the chatter and the order to attack she posed a question. Of course it likely went unheard between the chattering pokemon, and the buzzing of Revelation's wings. "F-ra---i do you wi--sh to stop-- battlin--g?" While she really did wish to stop it was Frai's choice, he was the one with a excuse.
Achilles looked to his foot, his still sparking foot, and then to the mantis and the boy. The drama-queens! If they had felt anything ti would have been something like a small static shock. Yet they had felt the need to turn this into a angst play. He wanted a battle not entertainment! Even if the two were one in the same, well most of the time they were. <Can I back them up?I was not the one rolling around on the ground a few seconds ago.> Upon seeing the mantis ready himself for a attack the dragon began to dive to the side, when a order rang out. So what if she wanted friends! He wasn't about to lose and listen to that order! Frvently shaking his head he took a deep breaht only to have his trainers voice ring out again, louder this time. This was her test, not his.
"Achilles --pl--ease do no--t move." Aubre had went back to looking at the ground ,or so it seemed. Now that the attack had been called she knew exactly what to do, or what she chose to do considering her lack of confidnce. Counting to three udner her breath she quickly , but still quietly gave a command. "Achilles, jump!" The girl was utterly amazed when he obeyed. His little yellow legs pushing low to the ground and pushing up jst as Revelation zoomed by. Opening her mouth to sa y the next order she paused. It was now or never. Never or now!? Attack or not!? Was she a mouse or the former battleschool top student? Actually don't answer that last one. "Pou-"
With a grin on his face Achilles wrapped his boddy into something about the size of a volley ball. Dalling from his jumping height he hoped to slam into Revelation's back.Or at least not hurt himself when he fell back down towards earth. Opening his orange eyes he stared suspiciously at her. Maybe shes not so worthless after all. Then again, that could have been luck. Not to mention she had made him look like a fool when he jumped. A cheerleader, that's what they called him. <Rev don't they usually bet on these things?> He knew what he wanted if he lost, that hoddy off, just to see what she looked like.

Frai blinked and felt part of his arm twitch. Despite the fact that her Statilee only sent a small amount of electricity through the ground, Revelation was a flying type. Electric attacks, no matter how weak, would still greatly affect him, and his trainer. Plus, seeing that Rev was only at level 5, his defense wasn't quite up to par yet. Frai took a shaky breath and gritted his teeth. His hair was a bit spiked out from the shock, and he ruffled it to make it fall into place. He blinked at Aubre, who seemed a bit confused. "No, we're good, unless you wanna stop," he said with a happy grin, readjusting his glasses. Being one with his Pokemon meant that he too, could recover just as quickly as Revelation could.
<Prove it then, dragon!> the bug snapped, glaring. He made his attack, but missed by a mere couple of seconds when Achilles jumped high into the air. However, the speed at which Revelation had been travelling wasn't going to let him to abruptly stop, and he continued to fly at top speeds, making a sharp turn to finally slow down. Frai saw the shadow of Achilles' body become closer and closer onto the mantis, who saw it in midair. Frai gritted his teeth and smirked slightly. "Try to dodge it!" he called out, and the mantis took a quick jump to the side, his foot the thing being crushed under Achilles' weight.
Frai winced and shook his foot. It felt like something heavy just slammed into it...but it wasn't as bad as the shock, so he just wiggled it around a bit before standing on two feet again. "Rev, get outta there!" he barked. Now that the Statilee had Revelation pinned, who knows what he could do. This was a dangerous situation, and both of them knew it. Frai wasn't going to give up that easily, though!
<Not to my knowledge> the Scyther gritted out, glaring at the dragon. <Why? What in the hell would you want from me?>

Linzee hugged Pyric tighter, seeing Frai wince in pain. She glared toward the dragon-like Pokemon who was hurting Rev, and in turn Frai. Pyric was wiggling now, trying to get out of her grasp and make sure Rev was alright. Pyric didn't realize that by running into the middle of a battle he could be seriously hurt.
Linzee blinked, but then made sure she didn't miss another moment of the action. (Not much else to say. ><)

((lol, I know.))
Abby lay sprawled on her back, watching puffy white clouds drift lazily across the sapphire sky. The wiry teen was quite oblivious to her surroundings; the mixture of warm sun, gentle breeze and the monotony of the drifting clouds was lulling Abby into a doze. Before she knew it, the teen was lying curled up in a patch of bracken, fast asleep.

(1839)(and maybe watchign battles=1/4 word count. It is part of training after all) "No--it's alright. You just looked like you wer--" Green eyes looking up slightly she watched as the little electric type rammed into the Scyther's foot. Quickly her eyes trailed over to Frai, who was now hopping about on one foot. Odd. Not that she had anything to say about it. He'd tell only if he wanted to, and not before. No need to press him, if she did then who knew what kind of questions he'd want answered in return. it was beter not to know. She muttered a apology to the Scyther, and to Frai for hitting them agian, well Achilles wasn't going to apologize was he? No. Of course not.
Aubre's thoughts on the subject of his apology were surprisingly enough, very accurate. Squishing his foot deeper into the ground he pulled it off the green dinosauric foor. <That proof enough for you Revelation?> In other worlds. Give up yet? Achilles ending the pin was much more surprisng then any apology he could have possibly offered up. It had given him leverage? Was he being nice, surprising as that may have been? No. Of course not. Hwo does one ask for a favor when they hav done nothing to deserve one? They usually do nto get the favor. Both feathers on top of his head rose slightly, crackling with static, and electricity. It as obvious Achilles was rather happy, happy with something. If the predatory grin on his face was something to go by. The next order was nto the attack he had been wishing for.
"Le--er." Aubre felt no need to say his name any longer. No doubt he recognized the girl's trembling voice by now. Not to mention the shuffle of her feet that came everytiem she uttered a quiet order. Scared. Scared that if she won Frai would turn into a nutcase, and scared that she could win. What if Leo got out? She would have to fight for her life, and losing was much better then winning nayday. So hopefully she wouldn't be able to win anymore. Yet Achilles was likely to aggressive to lose on purpose, no matter what the reason.
Achilles did as ordered, narrowing his orange eyes and casting a glare the way of the much taller, and more intimidating scyther. <Well..you answer first. I'll go from there." In other words, it depended on what the Scythe wanted. No doubt both had money, and nwo that his trainer had refused to attaxck, it was obvious who was at the disadvantage. So now it was his turn..who needed her permission? She had been tested and barely passed. ----------
The Pidgey's eyes windenedd as Achilles stepped off the Scyther's foot. <Revelation Lad, his eyes are gleaming. I doubt I like what he's thinking.> So what if the little menace could hear him? That was more then likely his new trainer, and friend, he needed to cheer for someone, and that Aubre girl was frightened of her own shadow, not exactly top trainer material.

Frai smiled softly at her, trying to give the timid thing some reasurrance. "Don't worry about it, this is normal." His face suddenly turned serious again. "It's when Rev faints that you need to worry," he stated, his voice unusually low and gravelly. He widened his stance, his foot throbbing dully. He ignored it and narrowed his eyes, his head lowered at the horribly desperate sight before him. Revelation was completely pinned down...his mind began to churn. He could bide his time and begin to lower the dragon's defenses by shooting a Leer at him...but wait...!
Revelation frowned slightly when the Statilee suddenly jumped off of his foot. <So far, you have proven your worth, but...why?> he asked, his face in a frown and his scythes crossed. He jumped, pulling his foot from the muck of the soil, sending small pieces of gravel flying around. <Unless you have another plan...> he said, suddenly looking to Frai for guidance. Frai nodded and pointed his finger upward. "Rev, keep hovering." The electric attacks would lessen a bit if the mantis wasn't on the ground...then there wouldn't be much to conduct.
He blinked when Aubre told her Statilee to leer. The dragon's feathers were crackling with electricity...it was pretty obvious that he wanted to give a frontal attack. Frai narrowed his eyes. Sometimes you need to listen to your Pokemon...but, sometimes they need to listen to you. Aubre was an excellent trainer, he knew that much. She probably had a good idea in her head to make her own Pokemon use Leer on his. Even though the Statilee didn't want to. Frai adjusted his glasses again; the sweat on his face made them slide down the bridge of his nose.
"Rev, use Quick Attack!" he barked. Strong attacks could balance out Revelation's now pretty bad defense. Frai was always one to use a frontal attack rather than a stat lowering or raising maneuver. The Scyther blinked back at the Pidgey and nodded, beginning to fly at Achilles, red eyes narrowing. <I don't battle for a material possesion, Achilles. I battle for the fun of it!> he said, a white glow appearing behind his body, marking his trail.
Fandon suddenly paused from racing with the Chikorita, looking back at the battle ensuing. <Woah, look!> he cried, immediately running toward where the action was. Linzee and Pyric were watching too, and, seeing that Fandon didn't want to get in the way of his trainer, went to sit by the pair. <Come on and watch!> he trumpeted to Bailey, his horn high in the air. He really wanted to watch the pair...it was really exciting. The first battle he's ever seen!

As Phandon ran up, Pyric managed to get out of his trainer's grip.
<They're awesome!> He queked to his elephant friend, plopping down on the ground. His tiny legs bent, and he was kneeling in the dry grass, until the two fighters made another move, and then he would jump up, flapping his wings excitedly. <What do the humans call those pretty girls who go 'Yayyyy' for the people fighting? Cheerleaders? Lookit me! I'm a cheerleader!> He crowed, flapping his wings and then jumping upwards and managing to do a bit of a flap in mid-air before gravity pulled him downwards with a thump!.
Linzee's gaze, however, was fastened on the battle in front of her still. More importantly, on Frai. She didn't realize she was staring, but...Well, she was. (Craaappppy)

"Wait why woul-- What's Rev have to..nevermind." No point in asking. That was a explanation, even if it was a confusing one. Aubre's gaze lifted from the ground ever so slightly. Mostly to watch was going on. But she did have a question to ask, and the answer would help her battle, or lose regardless of what answer she received. Taking a deep breath she asked a question, her head slowly dropping back toward the ground. Between the pause in questioning, and orders she had posed a simple question. If it had been heard that is. "Wou--ld you be at a-ll mad if I wo--n Frai?" He would have more of a reason to hate her if she won, the two seemed to have some kind of battle empathy for one another. So if she hurt Revelation she hurt Frai. Then they would be mad at her, at least nothing here was big enough to eat her.
Achilles peered up at Revelation. <Can I not just do a favor to someone once in a while? if I didn't know better I would think you were calling me mean.> Prowling back and forth across the ground Achilles couldn't help but smile faintly. This bug was scared, which was why he was staying so far away. Achilles wasn't evil, he just wasn't the kind to be pushed around. Once he knew the group a little better, he wouldn't be so cruel. At least thats what Aubre thought, even after he ha torn her pants leg, and left red marks. Nothing compared to the Houndoom. Achilles was an angel compared to that vile monster of a Houndoom. <Maybe I do have other ideas..but what makes you think they are bad ones!?> Purring Achilles turned to Pyric confusion stamped on his face.
What was that little bird thinking?Cheering for the other team no less! <cheerleader's are pretty and female..you are definitely not female, and nor are you pretty.> So absorbed in his critiquing was the little yellow dragon that the whispered command to 'dodge' missed him completely. Only when he heard the buzzing of wings and felt himself being rammed into did he realize what had happened. Head over heels, and with a growl he rammed into the ground. opening his eyes he lurched back to his feet.
Aubre paused. If Achilles would have held on to Revelation she had a move that would have helped. "Leer Achilles." One More leer should do it. Now she just had to make Achilles listen to her, those sparks were nice , and were growing the more he was hit. His special ability did happen to be 'Static' after all. So eventually Revelation would end up paralyzed, but who knew what Achilles would do if that happened. The girl in the black Hoody really did not wish to find out. (words-474)

Frai blinked in surprise. "Mad? Not at all!" he said, suddenly grinning friendly again. "Losing isn't a bad thing, it just makes one learn something!" He smirked, his head lowered. "But I don't intend on losing that easily..." he said, smirking. He hoped that she wasn't worried about the two of them and their feelings for her; it seemed that Aubre had a very low self esteem, and Frai didn't want to make it any lower. He'd rather lose.
But the blonde couldn't help but wonder...what was making her so quiet? After all, he had heard that she used to be quite outgoing from kids talking in the schoolyard...cocky too. This couldn't be the same Aubre they were on about though, could it?
Revelation cocked his head quizically at the dragon. <Hm, I suppose that's a good thing, right?> he said, his face turning a bit brighter. <But one trying to turn the tide of a battle in the other's favor isn't a normal courtesy, Achilles,> he remarked. He smirked and continued to hover. This was a better area for him, because he knew that, though he could hold his own in the battle, the Statilee was strong, and the trainer had a quick wit. Plus, it was safer in the air.
It contacted! Frai smirked, but suddenly felt...odd. A numbness, in his right arm. He stared. Oh, God...Static! He had completely forgotten about the Statilee's special ability! He gritted his teeth, his Scyther blinking and trying to move his arm. Frai would've healed him right away, but he couldn't get to his bag. He stared at Aubre, but not with a menacing face. It was more of...admirance. She definately conducted herself well in these battles...he blinked and heard her tell her Pokemon to give another Leer.
"Rev, give a Leer right back!" The best way to go now was to lower the defense of the opponent and try to dodge the frontal attacks thrown at him. Revelation's eyes glowed and gave the meanest look he could, trying to lower his defense more. Frai knew he was at a huge disadvantage from the beginning, but he was always pretty good with thinking on his feet.
Fandon grinned and laughed at the Torchic's antics. <Yeah! I wanna be a cheerleader too!> he trumpeted, completely ignoring Achilles' comments. Unless, of course, he just didn't hear them, which was more likely.

Pyric shot a dirty look at Achilles. <I am so pretty! I'm adoribible, Linzee says so!> He snapped, jumping up and down and flapping his wings wildly.
Linzee grabbed her backpack, pulling it onto her lap so she would have something to hold onto as she watched the fight. "Come on, Frai..." She murmered under her breath, though it might have been loud enough for him to her. She couldn't be sure, her ears were ringing. Watching Achilles scared her, he seemed...evil. Or at least, not completely good. He could be dangerous.
