After the other trainer had left with her birds, Randy returned the hug from Deidra, with enthusiasm. She patted Son gently on the head. Then she called Blaze over, and picked him up and gave him a hug too. "Yes, we did." She said, happily, "Good job Blaze!" She added.
Then turning to Deidra again she said, "Well, let's walk you back home, and then we can part ways. I assume you aren't ready for another trek across the Isabella Plains again so soon?"

<Good job Blazey me good buddy--I didn't say that yet--did I?> The happy-go-lucky Sunkern babbled. Was it only yesterday they had met Blaze and Randy. It seemed like forever ago. Now the pair must be on their way, ah well, not that much longger to go. At least that was what he was told, by more then one person , everyone leaves. You can catch up eventaully.
"Guess so huh?" The smile on her face was strained, but it was still there. they didn't need a babysitter. Waving a hand she turned abck. "If you need to get going me and Son can make it home ourselves."

"Okay," Said Randy, "I think we'll hit the Pokemon Center and then head off for the Plains again. I think we'll be aiming for Route 2 this time. I'm sorry to have to say good-bye though." A small frown appeared on her face as she said the last part. "But at least I'll be back this way someday, and we can chat and stuff then." She added, the smile returning to her features.
Randy and Blaze waved good-bye to their new friends and headed for the nearby Pokemon Center.

After returning to Route 1, from the Pokemon Center in Barkwish, Randy and Blaze are to be found wandering around in the tall grass between the trees which dot the Isabella Plains. Blaze rode on Randy's shoulder. They were hunting for any wild Pokemon which may be out and about on this rather blustery day.

Most of the pokemon met by the two so far had been mild mannered. Easygoing, and not at all, or very, dangerous. Good luck should have held strong, but as with most things the smallest breach shatters the wall. Which was exactly what happened to Randy and her Torchic. This was definitely no Diedra, and it didn't have a smile on its face, well it did, just not a friendly one. <Lookit that Rakish. Stupid little human wandering about, when it's almost dark.> The voice was only a whisper on the wind to the two travelers. Yte it was obviously the voice of a Flying-type. A spearow to be exact. A species known for being vicious, and blood thirsty.
If one were to look at the branch beside the Spearow they found nothing but a few feathers, that belonged to the large bird himself.

Blaze spotted the Spearow first, since he was looking up at the time, and nudged Randy. Randy first looked at Blaze and then up to the branch he was pointing at. Then she put Blaze down and called up to the perched bird, "Hey you! Want to battle?" She was itching for another fight, but could tell that this bird was somehow different from the other opponents they'd faced so far.

The Spearow's face seemed to split in two. Directing his comment down the branch he cooed out a question, to 'Rakish'. <Should we? Oh--alright--> Listening to a voice only he could hear the bird let out a happy shriek and dove from the branch. Yet his target wasn't the Torchic, instead it was his human trainer. Poor little bird needed to be freed! That human was so obviously evil. Wanting to battle like that. <Humans are bad!> Once again he nodded to a response his own brain conjured up. He didn't like to contradict himself much. This spearow was a brought, built of pure musle, and standing a good 3 inches above the normal Spearow he was large,, and intimidating. Not to mention his rough mad made him even more dangerous then if he had been sane.

"Eek!" Cried Randy in surprise as the large bird flew at her. But she recovered quickly enough to bring up an arm to ward off the attack from the rest of her person. She managed to throw the bird to the ground with her arm as it caught the brunt of the attack, and then continued its downward sweep back to her side. Her arm had several bad scratches, but she was otherwise unscatched, for now. "Scratch attack Blaze!" She called as she began to regain her composure from the unexpected attack. Both her arms were now up in a fighting stance, and the Spearow was between herself and Blaze.
Blaze heard the cry and spun around as the Spearow flew OVER his head? Anyway, he had turned in time to see Randy hit the attacking Spearow with one arm and then fling it to the ground in one swift movement. He was already moving when he heard the call for a scratch attack. He ran up to the feathery heap, that was the Spearow, and made a little jump to do a scratch attack at his back (or whatever side was on top).

The bird was upside down for a moment. This moment was spent hanging from the skin of Randy's arm. But with a frustarated caw he let go, landing gently on the ground, both feet in the air ,and poised for attack. The damn trainer had protected herself! <No use crying over mushed caterpie eh Rakish!?> As usual he nodded, as his counterpart agreed. Of course the human was now frightened and would call out a attack, no matter, he wwas bigger then this stpid little fire chicken. Bigger meant stronger, and a victory. At least it did in his head, well THEIR head if you wish to be correct.
The Spearow watched as the Torchic charged foward, the hint of a sime on his face. With a rakish call he pushed up and backwards just as the Pidgey jumped to deliver the scratch attack. Hopefully acting like a wheel and reversing the wheel of fortune, leaving him on bottom, and the insane, sharp clawed spearow on top. A bad combination.

Blaze was rather surprised when the Spearow did a sort of flip to meet his attack. Their claws locked together and they flipped head over heels, but there was enough force in the spin, and the Spearow was heavy enough, so that they landed with Blaze uppermost on the heap of feathers. He tried to dislodge himself so that he could make use of his feet in the needed Scratch to finish his attack.

<Nice job if I say so meself Rakish.> As usual he heard words of praise coming from his left and his right. The smile on his face seemed to grow, especially when he tightened his claws around Blaze's. With a screech he threw the much higher leveled bird, or tried to anyway. This was done by twisting his legs back nd launcing them forward. Hopefully sending the smaller creature away like a catapult sends a flying stone into the wall of a building. This throw was aimed at a nearby Birch tree, the bark of which was studded with a thorny vine. Painful, but oh so fun to toss pokemon on.

Since he was trying to get free, the larger bird managed to toss Blaze away, but not as far as he'd planned. Randy had moved to the other side of the fight, so as to get a better view of what was going on in the tangled heap of feathers (some of which were her own bird's!), and caught Blaze as he whizzed by. She put him down, and he rushed forward in another scratch attack, still intent on doing some damage to this ne'er-do-well!
He went straight in for a grab-scratch but wasn't sure what part of the mass of upside-down feathers he would grab a hold of, but he was very determined, nonetheless. Randy called some encouragement from the sidelines.

(5 sentences Kitt. 125 words or so.) <Two against one is cheating!> The spearow chirped with a up and down bob of his head. His eyes roving to and fro, the glitter of insanity was still obvious there. Jumping forward a look of glee flashed across his face, as he was grabbed by one of the Torchic's claws. As the Torchic prepared a scratch attack he slung his head forward, like a sharp-edged hammer. <This is fun fun Rakish.> Once again another comment was directed at his invisible friend, or maybe it was a ghost? Well that was only true if you didn't think he was insane. The scratch across is face, brought blood and a murderous glare to his feathered face. Another peck was broght forward. <Bastard.> When angered it seemed the bird was a completely different being, quicker, and more vwengeful, his blows less thought out. Not that he was very strategic to begin with.

<We ARE one!> Yelled the little Torchic as he fought to keep a grip on the giant, thrashing, Spearow. Blaze found that the thrashing of the attacking bird was too much and he himself was flung skyward again as the spearow struck the air with his peck attacks below the clinging Torchic! As he came back down, Blaze angled his dive back to earth by spreading his little wings a little and using them to steer towards his red-eyed opponent. He would try to do a scratch attack in mid-air on his way back down, and he hoped this would catch the other bird by surprise. Randy called the Spearow some nasty names, in an attempt to draw its attention away from her (falling/floating) partner.

<I count two heads..no matter your brains combined can't fill a single ksull..right Rakish?> The Spearow glanced at Randy. Pausing his peck attacks to let out a string of raucous caws, that's translation is to rough to write out here. Both of his eyes narrowed and he fnished off his string of curses with a loud hiss. This low and deadly hiss turned into a squawk as the Torchic crashed into him. Bearing him to the ground with a scratch attack, which he tried to copy, by scraping his claws against the Torchic's legs. The insane gleam in his eyes bas banished by the pain, for a mere moment. Then it was back and he started thrashing. <Rakish said to get off you orange feathered bastard!> Again he jabbed at the Torchic. Hoping to draw blood. Blood of any kind would be nice.
After all this pair was picking on him. Defenseless little od him. All heh ad doen was try to kill him. What kind of justice was that, and why the hell were they winning?! They aren't winning Rakish. Of course not. Just trying to rile you up. Both sides ofh is mid said to eachother. Both insane sides of his mind, who didn't love hearing voices?

Landing heavily upon the back of the giant Spearow, Blaze set about scratching maddly even before he landed with a thud. He knew the bird had a point about him and Randy being two separate individuals, but his point was just as valid, he felt, as he knew they were one in purpose and besides, they were a team! But he couldn't waste anytime on a battle of words with this deranged bird at the moment, as he was trying to launch his next attack. Feathers flew in all directions, some of them his, as the other bird retaliated with another peck attack from below. But he managed to disintangle himself from the other bird so now both were upright and on the ground.
Now, he was able to focus better on the battle, as the fallen feathers were beginning to settle around the two of them. And, concentrate he must, for the Spearow continued its peck attacks. Blaze began a manuver which dodged one peck then let him dive in to do a quick scratch attack, and then dodge the next peck, and so on, once in a while he'd get hit, or feel the wind of an attack go by him and just miss, but mostly his new manuver seemed to be working--at least as far as he could tell on his end of the battle--as his focus wasn't to deal out damage so much as dodging the other's blows. But he hoped he'd make a dent in his opponent as well, anyway.
