It was tempting to tackle as soon as he saw a bit of orange. Yet that tackle would leave him in midair, and having tackled nothing but a useless feather. Closing his eyes he allowed his body to go limp, the wind rustling his feathers gently. Ticklig him, as the twitches at the edge of his sore beak told, he was having a hard time not bursting into laughter. Those dang feathers could be so annoying sometimes. Pausing for another 5 seconds, he waited. Then with a resolute nod he rolled of the branch, spread his wings and drove himself upwards in a tackle attack. It was to much work to roll off the branch and into the Torchic. besides the showign of his fflying skills was much more FUN!

As they reached the branch and Randy started pulling them up, she decided that the best way to counter an attack would be to catch the Pidgey off-guard with another Growl attack. So she ordered Blaze to do so as she pulled them up to the level of the branch with the nest on it. She hoped this would cause some confusion to the Pidgey so it would miss them. She hoped it would work. If not the Pidgey would likely tackle into her! Since she was closer to the Pidgey's last known location than Blaze was.

The Pidgey stalled when he heard the growl. His target was higher up! While it had been meant to disorient him, it helped the Pidgey. Flapping twice he went stright up and dove, aiming for the shoulder the Torchic was on. Hopefully this was a hit. A nice clean one at that, hitting that girl would likely hurt. Pyric had feathers to soften the blow, unless he hit his beak anyway. That would hurt ,and likely chip both of their mouths. Levling his wings straight out from himself he turned, and came in hard and true. Hopefully this was enough for the trainer and his bird to stop this foolish nonsense, his whole body was in pain after all, and he didn't have much left. He was only level four after all!

As Randy reached the branch with her arms, and braced herself on her left arm, she reached for a free pokeball with the other. When she'd arrived there she saw that the Pidgey was really weak, and figured she could catch him. And she really didn't want for Blaze to get hurt anymore if she could help it.
So while the Pidgey reoriented his dive she threw a Pokeball at the charging figure of the tan and white bird; that readjustment had given her enough time to reasess the situation and to act on it.

Now they were throwing stones! What nex-- The bubblign sensation started at his feet. This was a pokeball, but by the time he realized that the blackness creeping in wasn't from his passing out, it was too late. A pokeball.they caught pokemon, and they were bad. With a full body shiver the pidgey tried to spread his wings, but foudn the ocnfines to tight to do that. Panicking he managed to force the ball open only to fidn something else pushing down on it. The pink fingernails of another human.
"your lucky I caught that!" Diedra yelled up into the tree. That ball had been about to smash ito the ground, and free one very frightened and one very, more then likely, angry Pidgey. Holding out her had with the now sealed pokeball she waited for her friend to come down from the waving tree. Then she would grab it.

Randy climbed down the tree. "Thanks!" She said excitedly. That had been a near miss on both counts--the Pidgey had nearly tackled them both and the crazed bird had nearly broken free! Randy wouldn't have let the ball fall, except that she had only two hands, and needed them to climb on the tree at the time, so she was truly grateful that Deidra had caught the falling Pokeball.
She took the ball from Deidra, when she arrived at the base of the tree, and released the Pidgey. He had some wounds that needed dressing, and while her first-aid kit wasn't very large, and couldn't heal the way a Pokemon Center could, it would help in the meantime. And, it would give her a chance to get better acquainted with her new Pokemon! She was ecstatic (very happy).

Didra pumepd her fist in the air. Wrapping her arm aroudn her friend, and slightly angry Pidgey's hsoulder she began skipping again. Her Sunkern bobbing giddily behind her. This was going to be such fun! It would be sad to leave her, but for some odd reason Diedra felt they shouldstay on Roue one for a little longer. Things got worse after Route one, and soon pokemn that could eat you showed up.

As soon as he was out of his ball, the Pidgey was still a bit scared and mad, but he was touched by Randy's tender caring for his wounds. He started to get an inkling of what Blaze felt for this Trainer. Once she'd put some ointment and bandages on his cuts, Randy and Deidra and their Pokemon went skipping, or flying as the case may be, along Route 1 again. Randy thought it best to put her wounded Pidgey back in his ball, so his pains wouldn't hurt so bad, but before she did she "christened" him 'Sandy', in honor of his coloration and one of the attacks that he knew.
The tall grass stretched out before them, and the trees were scattered in copses around them. Randy was enjoying the country-side, but even so her trainer's instincts were aroused by the slightest movement in tree or grass--she was keeping an eye out for other wild Pokemon to battle. But in the meantime, she and Deidra were throughly enjoying themselves!

(Well, a double battle would be good, but I can only use Medi and Blaze right now, as Sandy is still hurt, so maybe we'd better start with the next town to heal first. *goes to next town*)
After healing at the Pokecenter in Vhenkil Randy and Deidra return to the Isabella Plains, their Pokemon (Blaze and Son) still in tow. They decide to wander away from the path at right angles, hoping to meet wild Pokemon that way. They also kept an eye out for any other trainers on the route, who may be using the path as well. They were all itching for a good battle by then.

"Well what do we have here? Two ugly ducklings awaiting the gracious site of the swan?" Blonde hair was piled on top of the older youth's hair in a bun. Her dark blue outfit seemed to scream tales of the night sky at you, only if you were willing to listen to it. Of course clothes couldn't talk, so that woul be a little insane. perched on her arm was a cage, inside which a nely caught bird pecked at the outer edges. She had two pokemon. "So do you losers have another pokemon?Or two besides those losers?" Mostly by Loser she meant Son, who had suceeded in beating her before.
-- Diedra elbowed Randy, aka her new best friend. "if you could stand against me, she will be no problem .Especialyl after all the leveling up your little bird has done." Maybe it was about time for her to head home, but first she wished to see how her new friend conducted herself when faced with a unsavory personalitied oppenent. this Bird catcher was definitely not a cheery little ball of sunshine compared to Diedra, or to pretty much anyone for that matter. She was more a blanket of beautiful stars, or a toxic wastland to everyone else.

"Hello," began Randy, a little taken aback by the manners (or lack thereof) in this trainer. But she was ready for battle so she suggested that, "Maybe we can have a double battle, our two against your two?" She pulled out her Pokedex and looked at the reading on these potential opponents. "If you'd like, I'll start off with my new Pidgey, Sandy."
By then the sun was nearing the peak of the sky, it reminded Randy of some of the old black-and-white westerns she'd watched on TV--the showdown at high-noon.

"Hello there Ugly Duck." So what? She had no name, so she didn't really care what she called her. Pulling a pokeball out pf her pocket she unleashed Taro. Who promptly sat on a nearby branch and began preening his feathers, seconds later the other bird was let out of his cage, and he was cranky from the cramping. So he promptly threw a hissy fit.Which ended with him circling his trainer and landing on her shoulder. Where he squawked a few obscentities the way of his oppenets. The blue eyed girl fixed Diedra with a hateful stare, she had made her lose before, but at least she herself was prettier!
"why not?I do have time to waste right boys?" Taro gave a half hearted caw, while the bird on her shoulder went all out, and ended with a bow.

Randy was a little puzzled by the behavior of the older trainer, but a battle was a battle, and she intended to win! "Come on out, Sandy" Randy held up Sandy's Pokeball and released her newest Pokemon onto the field. He landed in front of Randy and yawned, then said, in a bored way, <So what's up? Another battle?>
<Go get 'em!> called Blaze from just behind Randy, where he'd taken refuge when the other trainer had appeared and started talking so loudly, he peeked his head around her leg when he said it. He was having another shyness attack.
Randy turned to Deidra and asked, "So do you want to battle her too?"

Running her fingers through her blonde hair the girl let out a wicked smile. "Taro, sand tackle." No pause in between the letting otu of Blaze, and the attack, there shouldn't have been time to prepare. Of course she did order Taro, the pacifist to do it. Fior half a minute te pidgey shuffled along the branch, then finally aided by a glare from his trainer he dove off the branch. Closing his eyes he neared the ground, and scooped his wings over the soil, whic he threw infront of himself. Then with a horrid screech he burrowed into the sandy cloud, and aimed for the Torchic.
"I am quite alright." This girl was just hot air. speaking of cuddly thigns full of hot air... Diedra bent down and picked up the Torchic, tryiing to balanceh im on her hsoulder so he could better talk to her Sunkern, Son. Compared to Diedra this girl was the night sky, and made even the grouchiest people look like balls of sunlight in a desolate land.
