Joel cheered a bit. "Yes, Raptor!" The tides of the battle had turned a bit. Raptor was cheerier, until he was hit with a bit of a Tail Whip. It irked Raptor a bit, giving him both an itchy and a ticklish sensation. It was very strange, and he felt a bit distracted. In other words, to speak statistically, his 'Defense' fell. "Shake it off a bit, Raptor!"
However, it may or may not have left another blind-spot in Cupie's defense. Joel thought for a few seconds. The Cupie's tail is simply whipping. It has that sense going on, while the Tail Whip is being in place, it seems sort of intent on doing it. If that's true, it may only pay attention to it, trying not to get it stuck or anything like that. On a side note.. Oh, so the Cupie's name is Drea. "Raptor!"
Raptor flinched in a bit of surprise. "Dive into the grass, again!" Raptor dove in, and under the Cupie's wagging tail. "Now, move directly next to Drea!" Raptor moved a bit further, until he was at range for a good, strong physical attack. This is it. I plan to make a Scratch attack, and it'd be pretty hard to dodge, unless it hopped from left to right.
However, Hessa might not even know the attack, or so much as expect it. Yet again, he drew a picture in his head. If the Cupie flew upwards, that would give the perfect opportunity- that is, if it dodges the Scratch attack. If it did, then I'll have Raptor use Leer to scare it into submission. From there, it'd be pretty easy to take in a strong Scratch attack.
The Scratch Attack that I'm going to get him to do will rake upwards, surely doing a good deal of damage. Joel felt a bit of relief. Lucky for me, Drea isn't a Dragon type yet. It's susceptible to Water like any other Pokemon that wouldn't happen to be weak towards it. "Raptor, use Scratch! Upwards!" Raptor hopped out of the grass immediately, and directly in front of the Drea's face, used an uppercut-like Scratch attack on the her, hope making an attack. Oh.. I hope Drea will be fine afterwards. I don't want to hurt her too much! Because of this very thought, the power of the Scratch attack weakened up a bit.

When the Totodile dived into the grass again Drea began to frantically look in all directions. She wasn't used to battling yet and she didn't want to let her new companion, Hessa, down. What if she looked down on her for losing? She really didn't want that to happen. So the almost-dragon would do her very best to win this for her trainer! The thing was... this was her first fight so she was still a little awkward and uneasy.
Hessa knew what was coming now. Another attack. Probably a water gun or some other move. However the crocodile's defense had been lowered some. Meaning a simple tackle attack would inflict quite a bit of damage for a young pokemon. The girl sensed that if she was going to win she would have to do it soon. Drea would get tired and weak before long, meaning a lost battle. If only she could get a couple tackles in. If only the Totodile would keep out of the grass.
Unless...
That was it! Just like the general rule of math and science. Even alchemy. Like dissolves like. A balance of both sides. Equivalent exchange, or some crap to that effect. It was time to fight fire with fire!
"Drea, get into the grass too!"
When Raptor appeared from the grass once again Drea turned, her eyes meeting the other pokemon's. She was too late in following her trainer's command. He attacked and it made contact with her small, unscarred body. She was sent backwards with a stinging sensation on her chest. Drea had been scratched. The thing was, at such a close range, it should have been a deeper cut. It appeared that either something was wrong or Raptor didn't put all he had into his move.
"Drea!" Hessa cried out her friend's name, afraid for her.
As she fell backwards Drea winced from the pain inflicted on her from her opponent's attack. However, if she could manage it, this was the perfect time to follow through with that command. As she tipped backwards, seemingly defected, she folded her wings around her body. In doing so the Cupie was able to avoid hitting the ground hard and instead rolled backwards into the tall blades of grass. She, too, would disappear. The little pokemon began moving about as quickly as she could on foot within the greenery. Left and right, in all directions. Once she was satisfied with her position, sure she had probably confused the other, she stopped dead in her tracks to rest a little. The pokemon did her best to remain completely still and silent. A small trickle of blood leaked from the wound given to her by that scratch but her eyes remained clear. She listened.
Hessa smirked again; she knew what Drea was up to. Even though she may have been hiding away to rest she would still be prepared for another command.
"As soon as Raptor gets close enough use tackle and disappear into a new location of grass," she calmly gave the new command. They would show these guys how to strategize. The problem was it was a little late... Drea was probably getting tired by now. The poor girl. This had to end.

Joel and Raptor noticed the drip of blood coming from Drea. Joel began feeling dizzy, and lightheaded. Did.. I just.. I just.. ... drew blood! Oh god! I DREW blood! He was only telling Raptor to follow through the command, but he didn't expect blood to be shed. "Raptor.. use.. water.. g-g..." Raptor's feeling was mutual. He was afraid. He didn't want to draw pain. <D-Drea.. I'm.. I'm so sorry!> He paused for a moment. He was very fearful.
He didn't fear for his life. He didn't fear for the loss of the battle. He feared exactly what happened to Drea would happen. "Raptor.. Gun.. Water Gun! At.. the wound!" Now, Joel just hoped to heal up the blood wound on Drea. "But... Run backwards, too!" Raptor was running backwards until he reached the edge of the grassy area. He, unlike Joel, wasn't about to collapse. He stood at the very edge, looking around. <Please, Drea.. Be okay!> Raptor began charging as much as possible. He took in the whole area, the dew, the soil, the air, the mists, and even water in his body. He made a fully-charged Water Gun, enough to take in the poor little Cupie's body.
Joel never wanted to see blood. From his first cut, to everything else he saw in moves and games. Well, movies and games are okay, because they're fictional.. but not real life. "Hessa!" He made one last utterance. "Either you win, or I'm gonna get back up, either way, I'm sorry about the wound!" He fell right on his back, eyes closed. "I-I didn't mean to draw blood."
Thud.
Joel woke up, not in a mind sanctuary much like Lumine Hall. He held a bluish-tinted stone, with a rushing water-like substance in it. It blew around. This Sanctuary was a strange, giant foot. "What Pokemon could this footprint be of? It's like a person's foot.. but.. much, much bigger." Joel then had a vision- the sound and look of a small, cute Growlithe. Then, the stone he held in his hand radiated some sort of sound. "It.. It sounds calming."
He came to another revelation. "It's not my fault that blood was drawn. Things happen, and that was another thing." Joel immediately woke up, relaxed. However, he wasn't on the ground like he thought he was. He was directly at the moment that he and Raptor saw the drip of blood falling from Cupie. Shaking his head, he decided to go on. Once more.. I'm betting it was a dream.
"Raptor!" Raptor, confused and downtrodden by the sight of blood, looked at Joel. <W-What do I do?> "It's not your fault! It's not your fault that you drew blood! Things HAPPEN!" Raptor understood immediately. He saw the Cupie charging right at him. "Raptor! Dash back to the center of the patch!" He went straight to the center.
<I-I don't understand.> "Now, is our final charge for this battle! Charge up ALL of the water you can! From the mist, from the earth, from the air, from everything!" Raptor nodded, and charged. He took in the watery energy and remains from everything around him. The grass's dew was taken in, just as the water from the soil had. He took everything from the atmosphere, and whatever was left of the morning mist. For one last grace move, he fired a fully-charged, spraying blast of water. It went fast, and shot straight in an arc. It blasted an ambiance, a rainbow under the sun.

Hessa's eyes went wide again. The fact that her pokemon was bleeding hadn't sunk in till that new water gun was launched. Sure, Joel had noticed and told Raptor that it wasn't his fault but it took a moment for the information to reach her brain. As soon as the message borrowed through her skull and into her mind everything inside of her seemed to stop for a second. Even her heart.
"Drea's... bleeding?" her voice was a mere whisper now.
The girl despised losing but she hated the idea of her Cupie being hurt even more. The idea that her companion was shedding her blood because Hessa wanted a battle tore at her heart. She was stricken with guilt. The fact that a pokemon so new to fighting shed even a drop of blood on to the earth made the trainer want to pull her hair. Not in frustration, but in fear and disappointment in herself.
The Cupie followed her command, even though she was bleeding and tired. She charged towards the Totodile who was in the middle of the greenery. A powerful water gun was fired and it hit her, sending the young Cupie backwards.
<Ahh!> her little voice cried out as she went through the air, no longer possessing enough strength to use her wings and fly. She hit the ground again, somewhere within the tall blades, and was silent.
Hessa panicked and went for her bag. She knew that Joel said he would do the healing after the fight but her mind went fuzzy. From the medicine pocket she retrieved one of her potions and ran into the grass. She had to look around for a couple seconds, her face stricken with fear the entire time, before she located her pokemon. She was lying on her back, eyes only half open. She was so tired. That battle had taken a lot out of her.
The new and defeated trainer fell to her knees and picked up the Cupie. She rested the pokemon in her lap and looked down at her with guilty, painful eyes. The Cupie returned her gaze but with the look of being sorry added in. Hessa knew she thought it was her fault, "It's not your fault. You did a great job," she opened the potion and aimed it at the scratch, "This is going to hurt a little but it'll help you."
The Cupie nodded and winced from the stinging sensation when she was sprayed. Hessa used the substance to heal up some of the minor wounds as well, being sure to use up the whole potion. The scrapes and scratch quickly began to close up and heal, leaving no scars. Hessa smiled, "I think it's time you had a rest."
Drea attempted to return the smile but failed, she was too tired. The trainer took the pink pokeball from her belt, recalled her friend from her lap, and resized it again. Once the pokeball was attached to her belt once again, Drea safe inside, she got back to her feet and turned to look at Joel. She moved toward the male, "I guess you get to catch the Spearow," her expression became that of frustration again. She hated the feeling of loss and would probably not say such a thing happened out loud.

Joel shook his head. "No, Hessa." He looked up for a second. Do I really want to do this? It'll make me skip a chance at completing my Poke-Dex.. No. "It's beautiful, isn't it? The water gun in an arc, the rainbow caused by it.." He shook his head. "No." He looked over back at Hessa. "I know that I was supposed to heal the Pokemon with the dire amount of health, but.. It seems that the pressure of the situation, and in your compassion her, that you healed her instead."
"It's true. Raptor and I have been working only about as hard as you did." He looked over at Hae. "Hessa, I'm going to say you worked admirably, and with admiration- for Drea, that is. We won before, and I don't want to hoard any victories." He twiddled his fingers around. "So, you can catch the Spearow."
Raptor was sniffling somewhere in the grass. <I-I-I didn't want to hurt her.. .b-but.. I had to.> Why do we have to fight? Why can't we all be friends? Fighting only brings pain.. Pain is wrong. Fighting brings pain.. so it must be even worse. Is that the world we're going to have to live in, now? Joel picked Raptor up. "Raptor, you didn't do anything wrong. It was neither of our faults." He put Raptor on his head. "Things just happen out of our control."

The slightly irritated trainer stopped walking and looked back at the spout of water creating a rainbow. She agreed that it was a very beautiful sight but she was too aggravated to admit that to the other so she turned away from it and moved within a better talking distance to Joel. Even when she was satisfied with her position she did not look back. Hessa simply closed her yellow orbs, attempting to look stuck up, like she didn't care. The trainer chose not to respond to his mention of her healing her own pokemon.
However when he offered to let her catch the Spearow even though she lost she couldn't help but open her eyes and look at him with an expression of confusion. Why would he allow such a thing? He won the bird fair and square. She wasn't sure how to react at first. She looked at the wild pokemon, at the upset Totodile, and then back at Joel before allowing her expression to faze into a serious one.
"You deserve to catch it," she folded her arms, closing her eyes as if in deep thought, though she wasn't, "Besides, Drea needs to rest," there was no way she was calling her pokemon out so soon after a lost fight. She needed to sleep, "I highly doubt it'll simply let me catch it without a fight."
She didn't turn to watch Joel get his Totodile. She stood where she was, facing away from him. It wasn't like she didn't want the Spearow... she wanted her second pokemon so very badly. Hessa just felt like it would be 'dishonorable' to catch it after a loss.

Joel shook his head. "No, Hessa. You see, I fought you without the intention of capturing the Spearow." He looked at Hae once more. "You see, the Spearow has been pretty docile. I'm sure if you just sent Drea out, they could talk, and the Spearow could possibly want to be captured. Pokemon Diplomacy, I'll have to say." Joel smiled.
"Hessa, I'm here for one big reason- Trying to find, and capture the rare, if not, rumored Dia. It's another unique Pokemon in the Remoor Region, if you saw the list of Pokemon in the Route." He looked around. "Supposedly it could turn invisible.. Wouldn't that make for a good Pokemon for battles?" Joel came up with an idea that would try to flush one out- seeing as they go invisible, he can make them go into plain sight.
"Raptor! Blast the air with Water Gun and get the watery sprays to fall down! Try not to hit the ground." Atop Joel's head, Raptor did so. A spray of fresh water fell down from the sky on Hessa and Joel, in order to try to get a Dia touched by the misty water.

Plip
Water. Hae looked up as the water fell like rain and onto his sleek feathers. It distracted him from the battle that took place in front of his eyes. He was a bit confused as to why though. A Dia? He chuckled lightly. So he wanted to see a Dia? Well, that would be an amazing event, but the chances would be impossible. <I've lived here my whole life and only seen a Dia once. I doubt you will be able to see one just by spraying water. Doubt theres even one here from your battle that took place.> He smiled lightly at the trainer.
So he didn't want to catch me? It strung a good note in his self conscious, but he did wonder why. His eyes went to the Cupie who was bleeding from the battle, then taken into her pokeball. He sighed, feeling bad for the little dragon. <You did a fine job Miss Hessa.> He knew she couldn't understand him, but he still had to give her praise of what she did. <And you too, Joel.>
The water had died down, to leave him feeling a bit heavy as the water had to cling to his feathers. He shook off a bit of the water, afraid it might drag him down from flying. He looked around. No Dia. <See, no Dia. Rarest thing around these parts, so I doubt you'll see one.>

Joel, even if he weren't able to know what the Spearow said, but could find the tone of voice. It seemed to him that the odds were one in a million. The Spearow doubts me, but I'm gonna try anyway. ..Wait.. how could you smile with a beak on your face? Oh, whatever. Raptor nodded. <Y-yeah. It has to be a pipe dream. I don't know what he's thinking, but.. Maybe.. There could be that chance.>
Still, it was slim to none. "Hessa, you can go ahead and catch that Spearow. And, Raptor, just stay with Hessa. You wouldn't mind to hold onto him for a while, I mean, he's very tame.." Joel looked around. "It'll take me days, but I'm gonna find that bird." So, he began a small excursion.
He was alone. No Pokemon. He had to move close, still, though, so that he could escape back with Raptor in case things get tense. He looked up trees. He checked in bushes. He crawled in wild grass. Still, he could find nothing but a few rocks and a slightly pale-green blade of grass. Finally, he checked the highest tree. Surely, it could have a bunch of nests in it. He climbed it, and he could be seen from Hessa's area. The tree wasn't very far away, maybe just a few five feet or so, until he reached about 7 branches up he decided to take a break and rest on a branch.
"I-I'm okay!" He said, panting with exhaustion. "I-I'm gonna find that Dia, and I'm gonna do so today!" He suddenly began to lose his balance. He was twiddling up and down, until he felt light-headed. He was about to fall! <Joel! Be careful!> Raptor yelled in Poke-Speak, unable to catch his ear.

The wild Spearow seemed to be trying to communicate with the two humans. It's coos or squawks or whatever sound it was that they made appeared to be directed at them. Hessa looked down at the bird who seemed to civil. She really did want to catch it...
With Joel being distracted, leaving his Totodile with her in order to go looking for a Dia, Hessa got down on one knee so she was closer to eye-level with the Spearow. She felt so weird about what she was doing. It wasn't so bad if Joel was distracted in his search, Hessa certainly wasn't going to help him look. So as he crawled around in grass and rooted around in bushed Hessa awkwardly spoke to the wild pokemon, looking uncomfortably at Raptor every now and then.
"Uhh... hey?" she tried to greet the Spearow, "I was..." she rubbed the back of her head in frustration, "I was wondering if you'd like to come with me and Drea," she looked to the ground next to the bird instead of right at him. She just felt so odd and out of place. Trainers were supposed to fight and weaken wild pokemon before they caught them! This just didn't seem normal to her, "It would be really... nice if you came with us..." If he refused to go she supposed she would have no choice but to just let it go. That would suck!
The Totodile seemed to yell out to his trainer. Hessa turned and observed the boy about to fall. She jumped up and dashed through grass and over bushes to the base of the tree. She didn't get scratched from the run because of the baggy cargo pants she had equip. It wasn't too incredibly far; she could get there without getting tired and pretty quickly too. Once next to the strong bark she looked up, "Get a grip! Literally!" she was standing right under the branch Joel was wobbling on, "Don't you DARE fall!" she was serious. She was there to catch him if he fell but was in no mood to have him fall on her.

Joel fell straight down. He was hit by each of the bricks, and fell, not on Hessa, but a good distance away from her- maybe 9 or 10 yards away. That was exactly how tall the cloud-ripping tree was in the plains. Joel, luckily, was only given minor wounds from the fall, but he was knocked out- that's right, again. His head was rushing.
He had a flashback, a sudden memory of past events. He could feel as if he was watching himself as a child.
"B-But.. Dad... That's impossible! We couldn't find him even if we tried!" Apparently, Joel (8 years old) was still another eager child, and he always loved the sea. However, their boat broke down, because the unique, custom-made engine for the boat had been completely wasted. "I understand.. but.. the odds are one in a million!"
They were trying to find the same engineer who built the single boat engine in the first place, but she was a nomadic builder, taking orders and setting things up from place to place. "W-Why can't we replace it? It's not like it has any sentimental value..." Still, he continued to argue with his father. "But she's probably on the other side of the world! We're cooped up on this regional area, and she's gonna be traveling the rest of her life!"
And it was true- the rarity of finding this engineer, whose name was never revealed to Joel, was incredibly high. The boat couldn't work, so they couldn't be going anywhere. However, his father, his crew, and his mother kept searching, forcing Joel along with them. Using a replacement rental boat, they literally scoured the seas for her.
It seemed wherever they went, the engineer had just been. "Give it up, dad! It's never going to happen! She could have died by now!" It took one year on that single boat. However, they wouldn't stop. Perseverance would have to break through, and Joel had ran out of that a long, long time ago.
He only accepted the idea of inevitability- what was going to happen, will happen. However, when he thought about this a bit more, and mulled it over, he realized that was just the point his father was teaching him- it will all happen eventually. This idea gave Joel the stand that he lives up to 5 years to today.
It wouldn't end there, though. They continued to look for that one engineer, and Joel was right. The engineer did die, as they found in the news. With lots of work and elbow grease, however, they were able to get the ship back in shape, not as good as new, but the best they could try and whip out. The ship wasn't at its best, but it surely was good.
Joel woke up, seeing a blurred, shadowy image of a Totodile. <J-Joel? W-wake up! Please, wake up!> To Joel, it only sounded like muffled pleas and screams. His eyes were flickering, and he fell incapacitated once more. Where am I going, now? What is this? Why do I keep seeing memories?
Joel was sitting in a black void, floating in a primordial land of nothingness. Then, everything came back to him. He saw another piece of nostalgia.
"ATTACK!" yelled a rather hostile captain. It was a captain named Archie, later known to lead Team Aqua. This pirate captain was attacking the ship occupying Joel's friends, family, his crew, and himself. They were vastly outnumbered by the grunts and peons belonging to Team Aqua, or what was first. They were to deliver a parcel from Silph. Co to Captain Stern, but they were engaged by Archie's crew.
They had to hold out all offense. Like walls, powerful Pokemon belonging to the crew held out all attacks. One by one, Team Aqua members were being thrown off the ship. A rare event- truly it was, because the Team usually never operated outside Hoenn. Joel was afraid. He knew they were going to storm onto the ship, and he knew they were going to attack. He was afraid for his life. He knew that if he was found, he'd either be kidnapped and forced to be one of the crew, or held hostage for ransom of the very parcel being delivered forth with.
Then, Archie, in a fit of blind rage, sent each and every last of his Pokemon against the wall-like defenses of Joel's crew. He was repelled completely, and the ship was saved with minor injuries. The parcel was saved, but only because of the crew's brave efforts and refusal to withdraw from the fight. Joel, himself, was in disbelief, but he learned to the program soon afterwards.[/i]
Then, Joel finally received an epiphany. No matter what anyone says, no matter what the odds were, you've got to accept inevitability, whether it be bad or good. If that is so, then.. I must have to keep trying! Joel's eyes opened up completely, Raptor looking down on him. <O... Oh.. Oh, you're okay!> Raptor checked Joel for any wounds, and luckily, there wasn't anything bad.
"Ugh.. H.. How long was I out?" Hopefully, he WOULD see Hessa and Hae, that is, if they came to get him and check if he's well, too. Raptor breathed sighs of relief. Joel was perfectly fine, and he wouldn't have to wander in confusion if something serious happened to him. Joel looked at his watch, and realized that something may have happened; he was missing it! His backpack was slinging from the tree, and his watch was on the ground near him.
Picking it up, he saw something shocking.. well, it was broken! "Great.." He was going to have to find a replacement. "Well, my watch was broken from the impact of the fall. I'm going to have to find the time from Hessa." Hopefully, she would be on her way, or he'd have to walk quite a long distance. Was it 10 minutes of unconsciousness? 30? Could it possibly have been an hour that Joel was knocked out? For my sake, I just hope that she didn't get bored and leave. He walked around to try and find her, putting Raptor on his head.

Hae nodded at the girls studdered words. She seemed nice, and so did that Drea. He would enjoy a little journey. His black eyes shone greatly, and he just wondered what he would see. He was a bit giddy with excitement.

The bird's eyes then landed on Joel. Was he crazy!? Climbing that tree just for a pokemon? Did he really want a Dia that badly? Hae shook his head, as worry clouded his head. What if he fell and broke something? He watched his new trainer run after him. Oh god be safe! He prayed for both of them. Then he noticed someone else in the tree. The person was high above the two.
"Hang on.." A voice strained. Akuma tried to reach for his pokemon, Fuu, who was caught in the tree. <O-okay..> A strong breeze happen to push the very light pokemon up into this tree. Akuma had spent awhile, near the top where Fuusen was caught. "Don't worry. I'll get ya down soon." He gave her a reassuring smile while a look of worry fell over her face. Her arms were tangled in the leaves and branches of the tree. This is why I hate being so light! She stressed her thoughts as Akuma began to climb higher to her. 'Totodile..' "Huh?" Akuma said, before turning his gaze downward to the two pokemon of a Spearow and Totodile. He strained his eyes to follow their gaze, downward. Not to far were two people, and one looking like they were going to fall. Fuu managed a small gasp, only being able to see parts from the leaves that covered her gaze. "Fuu hold on.." Akuma said. She nodded, as Akuma grasped one of her arms.
Crunch
They both yelled as the branch had crunched under them, sending them both falling. The wind rushed by so fat it was scary. Akuma grabed Fuu quickly, before using his leg to catch onto a branch. It stung as gravity tried to continued to pull down, but they stayed as Akuma kept his leg over the thick branch. Fuu was shaking a bit from the scare. <Oh my..> she managed to whisper. Akuma laughed nervously. "That was terrifying." he said. He turned his head to the side, to see he stopped by the two from earlier. He saw the kid fall. "Hey!" he yelled. To late. He tried to reach, but ended up missing as the kid fell. It was terrifying as Fuu gasped.Only did he notice he was still upside down. And then came the pain. He flinched back, as he had hit a few branches on their way down as he protected Fuu. The pain soared through his body, his leg felt numb. He slumped a bit. <Akuma!>
He stared at the unconscious boy for a second. Dammit. Was his only thought. He lifted himself up and grabbed the branch, despite the pain the ran through his body and let his numb leg hang a bit, before and gently resting down on a thicker branch. Fuu sighed deeply as they were on semi-solid ground. This whole thing had been scary as hell, her getting stuck in this god forsaken tree, then Akuma and her falling, then the boy, and almost falling again. <This is all my fault..> she said softly, clutching tighter to her trainer. Akuma laughed lightly. "It's okay Fuu." He could tell by her tone, and expression she was mad at herself. "Hey!" He turned to Hessa. "Come on let's help." He then set Fuusen on his head before climbing down swiftly. He hoped the kid hadn't broken anything. He landed on the ground, as the boy had began to stand. "Are you alright kid?" He looked to be about thirteen, while Akuma himself was seventeen.
Hae hobbled over to Joel. <A-are you alright!?> He was terrified when Joel fell. His eyes scanned the boy for anything broken, besides that Lap Top thing he carried. Akuma's eyes followed the bird for a second. A small thought carried if this was the boys pokemon, but his concern for the boy overthrew that though. <Is your trainer alright?> Fuu questioned the boy's Totodile. She recognized him from the lab. The timid one right? She mentally shrugged but turned back to the Totodile, seeing as he looked concerned for his trainer. Her eyes then went to Akuma. <And are you too?> They fell, they just didn't hit the bottom, because Akuma had acted fast and stopped that. "I'm fine." He said softly to his worried pokemon as she floated on his silver hair. Lucky for them he had good reflexes, and nothing was broken. His back was in pain from hitting the branches though. Hae tilted his head at the boy and his Drifloon. He had never seen that type before either.. His black eyes then shone at the boy with concern and worry. <You should rest. What if something is broken? Plus I think your body could use the rest..> His words were soft, but Akuma could get that the bird was worried. Fuu nodded, her tone matching the Spearow's. <He's right. Please rest.>

Coincidentally, a little higher up in the very same tree, was another male and pokemon. That was strange, what were the chances of that? Hessa shaded her eyes from the sun, looking past Joel to the one above him. He had... an odd looking pokemon with him. Could it be one of those extra rare pokemon few ever got the chance to travel with? It was round and purple, kind of like a balloon. Hessa hadn't seen anything like it in her entire life.
What is that thing? her thoughts completely disregarded the current situation from her interest. It really was a neat pokemon.
But-- Eep! That branch he was using didn't look like it would support them for much longer, "Watch it!" her attempted warning came a little too late for the limb snapped, sending the two closer and closer to the ground. The girl squeezed her eyes shut, unable to watch, but heard no real crash. Hesitantly she allowed a single yellow orb to peek out and investigate what had happened.
It appeared he had saved himself by wrapping a leg around another tree branch! Neat. Unfortunately that's when Joel took his fall, completing it by hitting the ground hard enough to knock himself out. She hadn't been paying enough attention to him and so didn't realize how far away he was going to land.
With one boy in the tree and one on the ground Hessa wasn't sure where she should go. Should she wait for the older one in case he fell so she could catch him? Or should she assist the younger one currently unconscious on the ground? Luckily she didn't really have to think long sense the one in the tree appeared okay. He looked down at the female trainer and said they should help.
Hessa nodded, agreed!
She jogged toward Joel while the other climbed the rest of the way down. Just as they got close to the 'Dia desiring trainer' he came to. The Spearow, who Hessa now assumed would be going with her judging by the look he gave her when she asked, soon joined them. He, the new trainer, and that purple balloon-like thing looked very worried about Joel too.
"Don't be stupid!" she folded her arms and gave a stern look when he got to his feet. Why would he get up so soon!? "Lie down and rest for a bit! You're barely giving your body a chance to recuperate!" she was yelling because she was worried. There was no need to completely ignore the guy until he killed himself, right?

Joel ignored her. "Ugh.. .." He stumbled over. Sure, he was only given minor wounds, but the impact from the fall made a small depression in the soil. He was covered in dirty grass and turf. "Raptor.. I.. I've got to return you, this once.. I don't.. ..don't wanna put you to pain." Before Raptor could object, he was sent back into the metal prison that was the Poke-Ball. Oh, how he resented it.
Joel stumbled again, walking clumsily. He was very worse for wear. It didn't even look as if he was up to breathing. He walked up the long and dense hill- no, crawled up. He didn't care who the new people were, (at the moment, that is) he was trying to get back up the tree. "Gotta... Gotta..." He held onto the tree, arms swinging around it, much like a parasite latching onto a creature. He was actually going to try climbing it, and even worse, in the condition he is at the moment.
I've been under some intense wearing. I've had two battles today, the second one as heated as I feel right now, and I fell off a tree that was 5 freaking stories high. He picked himself up on his feet, and tried climbing up. He went up to 6 branches, and tried to reach for his bag, slinging from the seventh. He grabbed it, and pulled it off the tree's branch. "...I'm.." Joel said this, while everything was going black once more.
"I... I did it." Standing on the branch, he held the bag and slung over. Once more, he fell. This time, there was more pain. He got his chin hit. By branches- twice. He fell straight on his face this time, and his ruffled up, unconscious body rolled down the hill where the tree was on. To add insult to injury, he was rolling down, about to fall straight where they were.
Thus, it happened. He fell on the grassy turf, which comfortably held him. Bag in hand, he got up slowly. "Ugh.. I feel so dejected." Joel was knocked unconscious around 5 or 6 times today. He would have to feel slung and out of it. He stood up fully, and put his backpack on slowly. He was aching all over. It was probably a good idea to rest back there.. I'm sure they'd try to get the bag. "Okay.. ...I'll..." He fell on his side this time, and the button on Raptor's Poke-Ball was clicked. He came out. Raptor looked over at the Drifloon and Akuma. <I-I'm sure he's fine.. right? ...I.. I don't know if he is!>
Joel was right on the floor, looking up at the sky and the sun. He saw everybody above him- Hae, Raptor, Drea, the Drifloon, Akuma, and Hessa. He looked over at Akuma, first. "Oh.. hi.." He quickly opened his bag, and sat up. He took a drink of a water bottle he had. "Haven't.. Haven't exactly seen you before- must be a new face."
He showed a smile, face and clothes dirtied up and all. "Name's Joel. You?" He looked over at Hessa as well, and gave the same smile. "I guess it's just in my nature." His talking turned back to normal. "You know, I think it'd do wonders if we went to the Pokemon Center later today.. my body's killing me, I probably need to take a shower, and get my clothes washed, too. He looked forward at Raptor, who was crying.
He stood up. "AUGH!" He fell back on his knees. "I probably.. probably shouldn't stand up." He tried reaching for Raptor, but that wouldn't work. "Raptor! O-Over here." Raptor walked up to him, and hopped on his knees. "I'm fine. Everything is fine." He patted Raptor in the head, and then, looked at the Drifloon Akuma owned. He looked at confusion, and a sensation of fear. She.. She's staring into my soul. Not even MY eyes could be that disturbing! Moreso, he felt some admiration. He held out his Poke-Dex, and collected the data. "You're a really interesting Pokemon, did you know that?
Joel looked down at Raptor. "I promise I won't scare you like that. Ever again. Cross my heart." He added, "And, I won't try to put you back in your Poke-Ball. I can't bear to be separated, because I may have no idea what would happen to you or me if we're gone. It's apparent to me, I need you, and you need me." Joel and Raptor were having a moment- not even the people near him could set it any different than it was at that moment.
Raptor teared up. Not for sadness, but for joy. <I-I can't believe you said that!> He threw himself on Joel in happiness. Joel, flinching a bit, patted Raptor on the head. "It's alright, now, Hessa. I won't risk my head looking for that Dia again. If you want, well.. It's obvious I get to trouble a whole lot.. I'll just get right out with it." Looking at the sun for a moment, he saw that it was only 5:00 PM or so, still pretty early. "Do you want to.." Joel, unlike that one, single time in the Poke-Park Hot Spring, acted confident, not at all shy. "Well, can I travel with you? We could look out for each other. Not only that, but seeing as you seem to like it, we could occasionally have some battles against each other." Joel kept an optimistic, confident expression on his face. "It's okay if you object."

((Hae is yours to play now TP))
Akuma watched the kid go and try to climb the tree again to get his bag. "Is he stupid?" he muttered under his breath. He was in no condition to do that! He cursed softly. <D-don't strain yourself!> Fuu said, but knowing he wouldn't. They both flinched back when he fell. "He's gonna kill himself if he keeps falling like that.." Akuma scoffed again. <I-I dunno..> Fuu said, her panic increasing before Akuma went over to the boy who had fell to his side. Akuma kept a straight face as the boy spoke to him and sat up. "Right, Joel.." he said, taking note of the name. "I'm Akuma. And this is Fuusen." He referred to the Drifloon on his head. <A-are you okay?> Her words were barely above a whisper, as the thought of him being hurt scared her. Akuma kept his look, a bit angry for scaring everyone like that, but he kept calm. He then sighed as the boy stood up and then fell. "Your stupid." he said bluntly, then kneeling down by the boy. Fuu gasped. <A-akuma! You shouldn't say that!> She took her gaze to Raptor. <I-I'm sure he's fi-fine.> She wasn't sure, but she had to make someone feel better. Even if she wasn't. She watched the Totodile go over to his trainer.
She blinked as Joel complimented her. <Y-you should be more concerned about yourself Joel!> she studdered out. She hated being complimented, for she didn't think she was interesting at all. But she had to admire the bond those two had. Akuma blinked, then thinking about his and Fuu's bond. Sure they had been friends for barely even a day, but he had gotten so use to her worry, and gentle nature...Could he really live without her? When she got stuck in that tree, he was scare some bird pokemon would attack her. He worried for her, because she worried about others so much. He took the balloon pokemon off his head, and into his lap. She blinked, confused by him, as he smiled at the little pokemon. Her face went red with a blush at him smile. Then a bit of anger.
"You climbed that tree for a Dia?" he asked. So all of that over some pokemon? He shook his head. "You really want to see a Dia huh? To make everyone worry over you for a pokemon?" He sighed. He then looked to Hessa as he asked to travel with her. He had only been here for awhile, but he could see these two knew each other a bit better. I think I would feel better is she went with this guy.. He thought. "You two should really go together. Might be good to have more company. Plus, you two can look out for each other. Fuu nodded in agreement. These two needed each other after something like this. Though Fuu didn't really mind some company herself. Not that Akuma wasn't nice, but it would be cool to travel with others besides him and her. But she was to shy to express her own feelings.<You guys would be great together!> She said. They would be a pretty cool team. Though never seeing Hessa's pokemon, she and his' pokemon would make a good team she thought, while smiling.
