Reggie left Barkwish town and headed out onto Isabella Plains. His Meowth was by his side. He was here to train his Pokemon so that he could be successful in his new mission--to capture a high level Pokemon. His stolen gold egg had hatched, but the twins needed training so they would be useful to him in this mission. He headed off the trail, but still in the general direction of Vhenkil, and found himself strolling through the 'forest' of Isabella plains. He moved quickly and quietly, keeping his senses alert and keeping an eye on his Meowth's reactions too. She might be able to sense wild Pokemon that he might miss after all. He carefully stalked through the woods, on his hunt.

The girl's head was titlted downward, and directed at the path, except every twenty seconds where her eyes would flicker up and scout around where she was walking, much like a small creature watching for predators. Her read hair was coverig her slightly moist eyes as she walked. For the most part she was a;one. Normally she would have had at least three of her pokemon out, two of them refused to stay inside when she needed it, so she had left one of them with the group at Vhenkil's center, surely they could watch Laan for a few hours. Luckily for the youthful red head they didn't pressure her for why she was heading out. In her backpack a blue , and red head with a yellow beak would poke out of the top of the pack. Letting out a coo, and staring around at the trees. <We're back on the plains right mum?> Well she knew the word for forest, but had said this was a 'plane.'
Finding a secluded area right off the path Aubre slung her sack to the ground, picking up the little bird nestled inside as she did so. Pulling her knees in close to her face she sat down upon the slightly moist ground. The little Taillow was now sitting in between her shoes, staring up at her, a perplexed on her face. Walking around so she was on the girls side she reached her head up and began playing with her hair, which had the cloying scent of watermellon, which was now overlaid by the scent of fresh forest loam. It was then that she saw water running down her trainers face, looking up she saw no wet leaves. Oh this was crying---Laan had told her about that--said that Achilles had done it when the big bad baby Shinx had tackled into him. <What's wrong mum?> The hatchling asked. Of course since aubre couldn't understand her, and wagered she was hungry again she reached into her pack , and drew out a green cookie.
Which she held out to the Taillow. 'Hu--ngry?" The bird shook it's head and looked up at her. What was wrong with her? Had she been hurt by the trees like Arbori always claimed he was?
Aubre's melancholy had nothing to do with trees. She was sad, she had liked Laan, Achilles, Arbori, and the unamed(for now) little Taillow looking up at her. Yet she didn't want to be a trainer anymore, and having pokemon even at home was ai nvitation for trouble. Especially it it was Achilles and Laan. The little droplets of saline water were because of her dreading giving the quartet away. Who knew who would pick them up--Leo? A circus master? With her luck someone who would nurture vengeance at her, and frce them to murder her one day. "No--thing." The girl left the cookie beside the bird, and gasped as she felt its beak pull at the fabric of her hoody. IT WAS CARNIVOURS! But no--it didn't eat her, instead it sidled up on top of her shoulder, and leaned into her face. <No more will the trees hurt you when I am around! I will protect you mum--but lying is bad--so why are you--> Instead of stopping the tear flow it increased it. The little bird couldn't figure out why, she'd have to ask Achilles later.

The soil was soft beneath Reggie's feet and the forest loam deadened his footsteps as he stalked through the Plains. Suddenly, as he had been watching the trees above and not looking ahead through the tall grass, he tripped over something! No, SomeBody!
"Whoops! Sorry, I didn't see you there..." Began Reggie, once he realized that it was a Who he'd tripped over. Then, after getting untangled from her limbs, he managed to get to his feet and (while brushing loam from his pants) saw it was a child in a hoody with a Tailow. "Oh, are you a trainer too then?" He asked politely, "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself." He managed a decent bow, and flipped his bangs out of his face as he came back up, "I am Horace Reginald Nuttin'hammer the Third, but you can call me Reggie. I am a humble Pokemon trainer hoping that I can raise my baby Girafarigs here on the Plains. Why are you out here, may I ask?" He added kindly.

Aubre had watched reggie approach out of the corner of her tear covered eyes. She had payed little attention to him for the most part, hopefully he would mistake her for a bush, and move on, and he wasn't one of tose types who would call the authorites. She coulnd't go to the police when she was in trouble, they usually had Arcanines, and they scared her just as much as female Houndooms. Just because they were much larger, and the plice dogs oculd be vicious on a whistle, and if she was with one when a officer called it to action she would be ripped to shreds.
So ignoring Reggie her face went back down to her knees, at a loud squawking from her Taillow she flinched back in fright as he tripped over her, her breathing irregular and obviously frightened. Oh no what if he was mad for her being in his way!? "n--o I shoul--dn't ha-ve bee-n in the midd-le o-f th--e path li-ke tha-t." Of course she was off to the side of the path, and far away from any traffic. It wasn't the lie that wa wrong but the slight cracks in her speech, the hollow, sad sounding ones.
Seeing hiss gaze trail to the slightly ruffled Taillow she sighed. "Kin--d o-f." Well she wouldn't be before to long, and answering yes was a lie, but until she dropped her belt for good she was still considered a trainer, and could be challenged by anyone. Which was the main problem. Aubre eyes flickered up as he bent down, in a bow? Then pulled back up, one of his hands sweeping away the bangs obscuring his eyes. Before she replied her eyes returned to their subservient position. "Au--bre" On her shoulder the Taillow was still in shock at the kind of statement, Aubre was great trainer! Why would she lie and say she kind of was!? Mum told me lying was bad.
Aubre listened to him speak, and had thought that she would be able to get away with ignoring him, when he asked her a question. "Tr-Rai-isng my Tai--llow. Alo-ng with th--inking, sir." The fact that she was raising the Taillow was supposed to have been a lie, but even as she spoke it she realized that it might not have been the primary reason but it was one of them she was out here for. On her shoulder the unamed Taillow copied Reggie's bow. Mayhaps she had heard her trainer wrong, or her mouth had messed up on her again. <Greetins Reginold.> She cooed, she figured that being rude was bad, even if it was not understandable she needed to offer up her greeting.

Reggie wasn't as angry as he might have been, but he'd been caught by surprise and so was more that than angry. He was also a little surprised to discover that this kid was actually a girl! Aubre being a girl's name. But he brushed over this feeling and went ahead with his statements, then, suddenly, he realized that she'd been crying! Well, that was no good, what if she was hurt. "Are you alright? That was quite the tumble we took."
Upon hearing that she was training the baby tailow he smiled. That was what he was here for too. He pulled two Pokeballs from his belt and released Marissa and Cynthia onto the forest floor. "These are my babies, Marissa and Cynthia!" He cried proudly as they materialized. Marissa started nibbling at the tall grass. Cynthia reached her head towards Aubre and sniffed at her, to get an idea of who she was, and if she was a threat.
Pay Day looked hungrily at the Tailow, but (when she peeked at Reggie out of the corner of one eye) she saw that he was watching her too closely to make an attempt upon the little bird. So, instead, she feigned disinterest and sat down and yawned, "Mow!"

Aubre's mind was working furiously. She should flee now and stop any more questions from poppig up, who knew what kind of conclusion he would draw. A few times it was thought that her home was abusive, and it took forever to explain to the people that the stutter had been there, and the bruises were from a recent fall in the river. While she really wanted to stand up and flee she found her legs would not listen. she had found a safe place to be alone, and she wasn't risking any more dager then Reginold by leaving. Aubre simply nodded her head in reply, and just to make sure he understood quietly mumbled the affirmative. One pale hand was now resting on her shoulder, and shaking slighty. The bird moved slightly, and sat down on it.
A girafirig! So cute! Aubre looked up, her body curving away from the long necked creature as it reached forward to sniff her. The other one couldn't have cared less. It was checking if she was a threat--which wasn't likely--it wasn't the one waiting to be be devoured by a vegatarian pokemon. "He--llo the-re." She spoke quietly, even moreso then usual, mostly to avoid startling the creature and drawing down upon herself its wrath. Realizing that he had two more pokemon then she herself her eyes narrowed slightly. Well Arbori wold even anything with the other Girafirig.
As if on cue a pokebll on her side burst open, not revealing her nice and sweet pokemon, but Achilles instead. The Yellow dragon scowled, and turned toward his trainer, his words resembling a very rage filled, and very pissed growl. <What the hell are we doing out here!? What the fuck are you crying for again--and why is that Taillow still here!?> Aubre could answer him, so she resorted to flipping a rock about with her toe. She was used to the verbal abuse, which she knew it was, even if she couldn't understand it. "A-chi-lles."
The Taillow scowled at the yellow dragon, completely missing the look the Meowth was giving it. <'Chilles do not yell at her like that. Some noble sir you are.> She wanted someone to help her berate the little yellow punk, jumping off Aubre's hsoulder she began pecking around her belt, causing Aubre to close her eye,s waiting for her little beak to stab through. There was a burst of red light followed by a Meowth, he was much smaller then Payday, and kept looking around at the trees liek they were devious villains. <Do not come near us you monsters!> He hissed, his eyes casting about the foliage. Realizing he had company he paused and introduced himself. < I --am A-rbori.> The Hungry Meowth semeed to be looking at him! Great something else that wishe to devour him, all because the trees had brought their foliatic curse down upon his medallion coin, even if it was fixed twas still cursed.

Pay Day was surprised to see the other Meowth appear. <I'm Pay Day.> She managed to blurt out.
Reggie reached one hand down and patted Cynthia, who was closer to himself than the others. Then he said, "I think I'd better put away my Meowth; looks like she has designs upon your baby bird." Then with his other hand he pulled Pay Day's ball from his belt and then said, "Pay Day, return!" The Meowth waved farewell to the other Meowth as she was sucked up into her ball, which Reggie then replaced on his belt. "That's a nice looking Statilee you've got there..." Began Reggie, then his eyes widened as the other Meowth joined the group, "Wow! I haven't met another Meowth trainer for quite a while now. Where did you find him?" Reggie was suddenly impressed by this youngster. Maybe she was a strong trainer? He'd like to know more; his interest had been piqued.
Cynthia snorted gently into Aubre's face then raised her head away from the girl. <I'm Cynthia, this is my sister Marissa.> She stated matter-of-factly.
The girl still seemed upset, but Reggie wasn't sure what to do about it. "Why don't we take a walk with our Pokemon?" He suggested at length.

<Nice to meet yo--> Before he had even finished his polite greeting the female Meowth was recalled back into his pokeballs. The Meowth had wanted to eat the baby Taillow! It had seemed so friendly how could it want to hurt something so cute, something that had a alliance with the wicked trees, and something that belonged to his trainer?! Other pokemon could be so violent. Deciding to pay the giraferig the same treatment he had Frai and Randy's pokemon over he loped over to them, and quickly sniffed each in turn. The CYnthia one somehow smelled just a little bit sour, maybe it was her voice he had sensed. The boy on the other hand smelled very different from Aubre, he just didn't know why.
Aubre was relieved when the Meowth was returned, the bird now on her knee hadn't seemed to mind being looked at like a appetizer. In fact she had glared back at the tan feline before it was returned. In her mind the Meowth had been looking at her like that. "Th--at wa--s li-kely the ca--se." As with most trainers she had noticed a natural inclination not to use the Pokedex. She on the other hand quickly pulled hers out, scanned the two Girafirigs, nodded and put it back in the pocket of her baggy hoody. "W--ell he-s stron-g." Beside her Achilles stiffened, that meant that he was ill mannered and rude more then likely. Of course he had bitten her enough lately, she needed the break, and frankly his bruised chest was achin again, dully, but the pain had clawed its way back, like the villain up the cliff.
Aubre paused, really? Meowths were rare but she had figured that quite a few trainers had left the route with one. "He c--ame f-rom aro--und here. Ac--hille-s and my Kr--eem caught him." Well Laan had pushed the button, but Achilles had distracted her enough to allow him to do so. So she had done very little, but pet him once, and hand him a single berry.
Aubre coughed as the warm breath from the Girafirig's noise washed over her pale , shadow covered face. It hadn't been expected. <I am--well I don't have a name quite yet Lady Cynthia.> The Taillow had a rather hard time introducing herself. She really wanted to. <If you didn't hear Lady she is Aubre.> Well she wasn't allowed to call her mum when others were within earshot.
The girl's green eyes flickered up. To her it seemed more of a order then a request, but then again so did 'come over and eat', so even as she went to shake her head negatively she began to stand up. Remembering the feathery, light presence of the Taillow she held out a skeletal hand, wiated until the Taillow had climbed on, and then stood up. Both hands dusting off dried leaves as she did so.
Which way was he going? Achilles rolled his harvest orange eyes and remained on the ground. <Trusting some new bastard not to eat you--yet being frightened of me> It was out of character for his trainer indeed.
<Off we go--to SOMEWHERE!> The Taillow screeched from Aubre's shoulder. Both of her eyes flickering to the bright blue sky, above her winged brethren flew about, oh how she wished to know how to fly! She would need to ask Geo next time she saw him.

Reggie looked at the yelling Tailow and smiled. It seemed happy anyway. He offered his arm to Aubre, as a gentleman should, and set off across the sea of grass and trees with her in tow.
"I'm looking to train my baby Girafarigs here, and since you'd like to train that Tailow of yours, maybe we could train together?" Suggested Reggie as they walked, in the general direction of Vhenkil.
Cynthia had to nip at Marissa to get her sister's attention. Marissa had not been paying much attention to the conversation. She'd found it rather dull, in comparison to nibbling at the grass. And, when the others had started off she was almost left behind. Marissa suddenly seemed to take notice of the new comers, and decided to make a joke. <So why did the Psyduck cross the road?> She began, not asking anyone in particular, with a snort of supressed giggles.
Cynthia rolled her eyes, not this again... she thought to herself. Then turning to the Tailow she asked, <No name yet? Then what do they call you?> Cynthia was confused.

Aubre looked at the crook of his elbow. That was something the rich did. So tis fellow was really a spoiled, rich, brat under all the manners and niceties. She had problems with rich brats before, Leo being the most troublesome. Even as she went to walk away she found her own arm looped through his elbow. Manners dictatd it, and if she neglected her manners then the rich brat might deign it alright to be angry. Head still directed downward at the grassy path her face was now set in a mask of indifference. It was kind of hard lookin at her holy layered clothing next to his much neater skin. Of course AUbre had learned the nicer you look the more people bothered you.
Aubre shrugged, her movement restrained by the position of her left arm. "I do--nto s-ee wh-y n--ot." She answered, although her mind shouted back anwers of 'what if you win!' and 'You're not a trainer!'. The Taillow at least deserved enough levels to be able to protect herself from the Meowth's on route one. When she let her free anyway. <By train I do hope you mean compete--anything out here could eat that baby. Along with the Taillow.> Achilles was referring to the tree fearing Arbori. Even as he spoke the little Meowth was hiding under the two trainer's linked arms, both of his pawed arms wrapping around Aubre every time a branch shadowed them over.
<Oh Arceus....> Achilles whined as marissa began a joke. It was likely a very old joke at that. Oh so dull, they were only babes so they knew nothing more. Achilles was older then everyone on Aubre's team, xcept for the water despising Laan, who was older, by much more then a few months. <WHy?> The Inquistive Taillow asked from her position on her young triner's shoulders, she had turned around and was now facing the pair of Girafirig's. Both of her dark eyes were widened in anticipation of the answer.
Shifting her three toed feet slightly she turned to answer the other Girafirig. The odd thing she called a smile was still on her face, it was hard to smile with a hard mouth like a beak. <I don't know--when she name you Arbori!?> She asked. The Meowth turned atound, leaping with fright. <Halfway to the center she had me named.> The Taillow had been with her for three dys, why didn't she have a name yet? Mum wasn't going to keep her was she?
Aubre lifted her other arm and dried away dry tears. "Wi--th a pok-emon like that Me-owht wh-y did y--a come all the wa--y ba--ck to Rou--te one?" Surely he was passed the first gym? Why did he come back here to train? That was odd indeed. At her feet Achilles rolled his eyes, it was obvious she wanted to run, but here she was making converstaion. This girl is odd, she's to scared to stay, but more frightened of what happens if she makes them angry. What he wanted was to see a battle, not he himself, but a few levels for the Taillow, one for him, two for Arbroi, and soon the Kreem would evolve. Smart little bastard.

<To get to the other side!> Cried Marissa, who then burst into a fit of giggles.
"Well," began Reggie, "I needed to train these two." Here he paused to indicate his Girafarigs with his free arm, "And, since they just hatched recently I figured this would be the best place for them to do so. Would you like to help me hunt for wild Pokemon to fight, or would you prefer a two on two battle?"
Reggie noticed that the Meowth seemed tense and upset about something, but couldn't figure it out at first. Then he saw that when they came closer to the trees was when the Meowth would cling to his trainer's side. Interesting... he thought to himself.
Cynthia was paying more attention to what Reggie was saying than to her sister. She'd heard this joke many times over the past couple of days. But Marissa never seemed to tire of the silly thing--being still enthraled with it for some reason, unfathomable to Cynthia. Oh well, she loved her sister anyway.

The Statliee stopped, and blinked. When he had said old joke he hadn't meant ancient. What was funny about that anyway?! Realizig he was being steadily left behind he began walking again, a snort of derision escaping from his nose. <That joke is likely older then Arceus--no new material for you?> He inquired sarcastically as he walked, his flat white clawed feet leaving furrows in the ground as he did so. The noise of the crackling leaves quickly got on his nerves, as did watching his trainer reluctantly agree to things she didn't want to. As long as the request wasn't dangerous, illegal, or ridicoulous, she would likely agree, or take to long debating to do anything about it.
Aubre understood completely, it was perfectly logical. "That do--es ma-ke sen--se." The way she said it was almost a inquiry, it was a wise idea for a trainer--meaning him--to trainer lower leveled pokemon on a lower right, unless the had a way to share EXP, without putting the babe in danger; that usually wasn't the case. Listening to her choices she really would prefer wild , but as she tried to walk toward the bushes Arbori grabbed her pant's leg and shook his large head. "If i wi--n yo--u won't be cr--uel abo--ut it will yo--u?" In other words wold he fly off the rocker like Leo, or would he be glad for experience? "Well0---w-e can--t do team--s Arbo--ri is too hi-gh level-ed for the Girafi--rig." The Pokedex was handy, and she knew what level baby eggs in Remoor hatched at.
On her hsoulder the Taillow let out a coo. <I wonder if I am involved--> Below the Taillow, Achilles snorted, sparks flowing from his slender black nostrils. That bird still had a lot to know, hopefully it would take the Girafirig's a few minutes to figure out that she had little idea how to use her wings. Speaking of her wings she was currently stretching them skyward, rotating her shoulder joints as she did so.
At her side the Meowth gulped, he had only lost battles before. Achilles had only lost once--and he had no idea about Laan. He never talked about his last trainer; but he wagered he knew how to battle. He needed the experience--but why did the battle have to occur in a forest! When the trees were likely on his oppenets side! With Aubre and her head shield around they might just leave him alone.

Marissa ignored the Statilee and his remarks.
"Cruel? Me?" Reggie asked innocently, "Of course not." Here he laughed. "But let's hunt for wild Pokemon first. As I have the two babes and you have only one babe. I'd rather not separate them in battle just yet, if you don't mind, of course."
Cynthia said, <See here now, you ruffian, that's my sis. you're talking about! You wanna make something of it.> to Achilles, snorting angrily in his general direction while still walking by Reggie.
The sun rose higher in the sky, and the leaves underfoot made a pleasant crunching sound. Reggie was feeling happy and even content. It'd been a while since he'd felt so relaxed in another human's presence. He wondered why this kid didn't bother him as much as she might have otherwise done. Ordinarily he might have been angry about tripping over someone, but today was different for some reason. He decided that it was because he had been surprised by her sudden appearance underfoot, and nothing more.

Two giggling voices could be heard.
<Catch it!> a male voice said. <Oh! Got it! Hehe~!> a female voice replied. Up in the trees, two Apioms were playing catch with an apple. They were sibling that got lost in their little game. The girl threw it back. <I got it!> the boy yelled, before stepping back to find no branch that he hoped that would be there. <Wa!> he yelled before falling out of the tree and onto the ground, face first in front of Reggie and Aubre. <Ow..> he mumbled as his body fell after him. He lifted his head, a bit scratched at the face. <Oh! Brother..> the female said ever so softly, before jumping next to her brother and kneeling down. <Are you alright?> she asked tenderly, as like a little sister would. The boy nodded. <Heh, nothing your big bro can't handle..> he said easily before getting up and dusting himself off before helping his sister up. <Huh?> he asked, looking at the two humans. <Oh!> the sister said.
<I'm sorry, we didn't see you there..> she said, putting her hands together. The older brother crossed his arms, trying to look touch in case they tried to hurt his little sis. <So trainers eh?> he said. His brother punched him in the arm. <Ow..> he mumbled, rubbing his now sore arm. <Brother that's rude..> she said under her breath. <Please excuse my brother..> she said softly, as she tilted her head.

AUbre looked up at him, she took that laughter a different way hten him just laughing it off; the ridicoulessness of her question anyway. The shy red head took it as either he was cruel; and was uncomfortable lying; or as she was insane to be asking that question. When ever she met someone she had to do battle with; that was the first thing she asked. As of yet no one had threatened her, they might have if they had known she was going to back down, and let them win. Smiling nervously she directed her gaze down to the ground; giving a sad, but barely detactable nod. "Ok-ay. I do no--t mi-nd." Maybe it was just the fact that he was rich that made her be scared of allowing him to touch her arm, or maybe she was frightened of everything.
Achilles rolled his eyes. <It would be a waste of time--and besides it is her fault she made the idiotic joke, not me.> He wasn't scared of the Girafirig, he just wanted to fight someone on his level, but of course his trainer wanted to raise the others first. <So no--I do not wish to make something of it.> Besides why be overprotective of a ditz who hadn't risen at the insult anyway? Ignoring the rest of the group as they trudged on and waled to a tree beside the path, and sat down at its base. <While you babes go beat up children I will wait.> In all truth his chest was hurting, but the way he had walked wit his arm crossed had hid the nasy purple bruise, but as he let his arms drop it became visible.
Arbori whirled around, his aze flickering from tree to tree. it was obvious they were laughing at him, and planning to scratch his precious coin again! Lifting his paws he placed them over his head, and then he relaized it was a pokemon, somewhere he couldn't see. IN THE TREES! Therefore they had to be evil.
When the Aipom fell in front of the two trainers Aubre let out a yelp, and went to run backward. Her elbow caught in that of Reggie and she hit the ground. Upon realizing it was a Aipom--se muttered something like an apology, and stared at the pair. "It--s al--right. Thi-s is your fore-st after all." THEY WERE SOOO CUTE! Aubre watched as one Aipom punched the other, her eyes widening. It looked like bullying to her--but she wouldn't say anything. It was wrong but it also wasn't any of her business. <Hello malady--and sir.> the Taillow chirped. <Are yo--u in league with the trees?> The Meowth asked, glaring up at the pair, they had to be bad if the trees would let them in! They were not going to touch Aubre--they had already scared her. Narrowing his eyes he continued his staring, a hiss raising in his throat--they only seemed to be nice. So did the trees! So they were pretending--
