"Tsk, tsk, tsk," Megs said, waving her finger side to side. "Little kids like you should be saying bad words. Once you've hit puberty you can go ahead and talk all you want, but no kid is getting the best of me!" Megs let her anger relax a bit off, using the exercise her parents had taught her when she was little. 'Inhale....exhale....inhale....exhale...relax and hum' Megs kept repeating in her head. She cracked her knuckles and neck, feeling better after the relaxation exercise. "Alright then,"
"Wing, watch out for his tail--don't let it hit you." Megs told the little spearow. Wing speed up more to try and avoid being hit by the purple tail, but his chest was hit by the curled up end of the tail, pushing Wing back a little by force. Wing spread his wings out and flew upward away from Ripper, then landed on the ground. "I have to give you credit for the little thing. I didn't think he'd be going on for that long," Megs said to Todd, acknowledging the small rat pokemon.
Wing shook his feathers and gnawed at the wings with his beak to straighten out the feathers. He waited for a command from his trainer, still watching Ripper from his position. "Wing, kick around the sand on the ground and hide in it." Megs told him. She remembered this strategy when Wing had used this in the battle with Cheyenne. And with his keen eye, he would be able to see without trouble, but would the rattata be able to see clear enough to dodge Wing's attacks?
Wing kicked his claws on the ground, sand covering the battlefield. Wing and Ripper were now hidden in the sand and by themselves, away from view of the trainers. Wing looked around, searching for Ripper. <There,> Wing thought, spotting the rat. He went forward at Ripper with his beak again, using peck .

Sticking out his tongue at the girl Todd decided to reply: "Ass, hell, whore, slut..I can say anything I want. It's not like you can tell my mother!" Todd yelled back, people who thought themslves superior just because of their age annoyed the hell out of him. Then he laughed. "Ripper wiped the floor with your weed--it's on a few more hits until victory! Silyl girl!" The little boy barked back, trying to sound much more mature then he was , which failed and made him sound like a child trying to imitate his father.
The Rattata smirked, as his tail hit the Spearow in the chest, pushing him away, and stopping him from doing a rebound attack. The little change in his facial expression caused him whimper, any movement of his broekn nose, and in effect mouth caused spikes of pain to shoot through his head.
"He'll be going for a lot longer too!" Todd yelled back, shaking a fist at the much taller teenager. Unlike her he wasn't a chick en that would withdraw his pokemon at the first sign of a loss.
The Spearow drove his beak toward the Rattata, who stumbled in a attempt to dodge it. But at the last minute the Spearow's beak slammed into his swollen nose, and with a yelp he collapsed to the ground. Soon his eyes clsoed--and he passed out, msotly from pain, and not exhaustion.
A win out of two for Megs. Of course the moody Rattata wass only half the fight--
----
Returning Ripper, his voice reminiscent of a pout he tossed out his other pokemon. "Come on out Shredder!" The red light faded, and standing in its wake was a rather smal Sentret, who folded his arms over his chest and said: <Yo--my feathered friend--what brings ya here to my battle ground?"> "Scratch SHRED!" The Sentret rolled his shoulders, and then dove at the Spearow, his claws ready to rend, scratch, and shred flesh. WHich is what his name indicated. "You haven't won yet--so don't cheer yet girl!" Todd snarled at Megs.
It was obvious his attitude hadn't improvd with Ripper's loss. But at least I didn't cheat and use two on one, agianst her Chikorita.

Megs burst out laughing, falling to her knees. "Oh my god!" she said, giggling with tears. "Ripper and Shredder? You've got to be kidding me! What else do you have for names? Crusher? Slicer? Oh my giddy aunt..." Megs laughed, her lungs begging for air.
Wing on the other hand didn't join in laughing with his trainer. His name was Wing and that wasn't really the best name you could ever have, so he thought better than to laugh at the sentret. Even if he did like his given name.
Wing examined the sentret. He didn't look any friendly than the rattata did. Did the kid have any pokemon that didn't rely on strength and vicious names? Hopefully Wing would be able to survive this battle. As Shredder came towards him with his claws glowing white, Wing extended his wings out and flew up to dodge the attack. His feet were barley hit by the tips of the sentret's claws, but no damage was done except a slight scratch mark left on Wing's right foot. Wing excelled his speed and the flapping of his wings. He circled above Shredder like a vaulter did in the movies all the time.
"Ok, Wing, create another dust cloud around the sentret. Then use your peck." Megs commanded the bird pokemon. Wing dived down to Shredder's height and looked him in the eye before gliding around him. <I guess whatever you said must've meant 'hi'> Wing said, letting the wind carry him around Shredder, flapping his wings a few times. Dust and sand picked up from the ground as Wing went around Shredder faster. The dust formed a smallish tornado with Shredder in the middle. Wing stopped his flying and aimed his beak at the sentret. He dove into the dust and sand and at his target.

"SHut up! It's better then naming my pokemon after a part of their body! And what's wrong with those names anyway idiot? They are strong Scary sounding names" Todd yelled back, extremely annoyed by her laughter. She had no rigt to call him a child--he didnn't roll on the ground, laughing his ass off like that. "Look at how adult your acting! Can't even help your pokemon because your Immaturness reigns supreme!" Help her Pokemon? Well this was a battle correct? If she was laughing, well she wasn't ordering her Pokemon around right?
The Sentret shook his head: <COme on my friend-don' be hatin' and cruel like that.> The attack had been dodged, and now the chicken was flying around his head like a extremely bad omen. "Scratch Shredder!" The trainer yelled out, and Shredder leaned back. "After he attacks!" Then he nodded. It was good that he didn't expect him to attack and hit a flying thing.
Then the Spearow was staring him in the eye, a dustcloud billowed up around his ody, and soon he couldn't see a thing. <Hi is for squares--> The Sentret said, shaking his head. Then he felt a tremor in the dusty air, as the Spearow dove toward him. Jumping backward, he lashed out with his claw, hoping to knock the bird off course, by smacking his beak, and body downward. Hopefully causing a forceful collison with the ground. (Sorry it is so short--I am doing this while being distracted by a movie)

"Ok, first off-- I'm not an adult. I'm a teenager, so I don't need to act like a grown up amateur like you are right now. I just have to be mature, which you aren't doing at all. Face it, kid. When it comes to who's more grown up, the winner would be me. And it's not like laughing my ass of is gonna kill us, is it? I'd like to see you be me!" Megs said in one whole breathe. She exercised her hands around, letting them relieve herself.
"I suggest you drop the act and frigg'in forget about what I think and just be yourself. If you had any sense at all you'd 'ave been do'in that since the beginning." Megs said. "Wing, dodge his scratch attacks as much as you can. I can't trust that he'll be friendly enough to only pull one or two feathers off ya."
<Oh, gee, that's comforting to know.> Wing said, trying to imagine himself with no feathers. Oh, what a featherless bird he would be. Wing heard Shredder reply to his comment about his 'hi' earlier. <I guess that would make sense. After all, you're not square. No, you're much more rounder than that. Or maybe that's just because you gained some weight?> Wing said, watching the sentret's claws swipe at him as he dove after his body, but too early. Shredder had swiped his claws too soon before Wing could reach him, but he was forced to back out of the dust tornado and try again.
Again, Wing dove in, but this time he circled around Shredder like he did to create the dust tornado. Gliding around Shredder, he eyed for the perfect spot to hit with his peck attack. He came to the back side of Shredder and spun once more around the sentret, picking up speed and making a sharp turn, he lit up his beak and straight at Shredder's tail.

"Well you should at least act your age!" The young boy pouted, and then yelled back: "WHo woukld want to act like a stupid girl? Not that I couldn't." Todd consented, spinning his cap backward upon his head. his stance changed, so he was now rimrod straight, his eyes narrowed, and his nostrils narrowed. This was what he thought was a adult like posture. Hopefully this would show who was more adult--between him and Ms. LaughyMcgiggles. "Laughing gives yo ucancer. So it could kill you one day you stu-" Well to call her a stupid girl would ruin the image, so he just let the statement hang. She could finish it herself.
Then the girl spoke again. "Who made you my mother? I can act how I please--and besides yo ucouldn't handle the real me, stupid girl." Todd growled back, sure she made some kind of sense, but he was not about to tell her that. So he resumed his silent pouting, which was punctuated by periods of loud obnoxious talking. It was something between the silent treatement, and wild tantrums. Hopefully it would get him his win by the end of the battle.
-----
Speaking of that battle, it was time to quit being obnxious attention switching children, and battle.
----
<Like I'd hurt the chicken--it's a battle not a massacr--> The Sentret began, but then the Spearow went and , made the "wieght comment". The fine curtain that the Sentret had put up between easygoing and aggresive was ripped to shreds. <I cannot help the way I was born! Look at you with your spindly little legs, and no hands!> The anger grew as the Spearow retreated out of the dustcloud. <You call me fat and then you run..WHAT A COWARD!> The Sentret yelled upward, hoping that the stupid idiot of a bird heard him--he was ncie, and the chicken called him fat!
The tornado pulled at the Sentret's thin fur, and left grit in his eyyes. It was hard to keep track of the Spearow, and just as he turned to stop his attack, the peck drilled into his tail, and snet him crashing to the ground. Landing on his back--he reached upward, and slashed with his claws, hoping to stop the Spearow from pecking him when down.
After all he seemed the kind of pokemon to do that.
(Eew again--my apologies)

"I know for sure I wouldn't like to act like a 'stupid girl' and it's a good thing I'm not. If there was anyone here acting like one, it'd be you, except your not a girl. You're a stupid boy--unless I'm mistaken, that is." Megs said, trying to relieve her stress as usual. She was getting really annoyed by this boy now and her conscious was telling her to give him a good pounding, but then that would mean she'd be in blame, not her evil conscious. "Man, if only I had something to punch right now..." Megs thought, her fists clenched tightly.
Meanwhile in the battle between Wing and Shredder--
<I didn't call you fat. I just wondered if you gained some weight. Then again, you could be right. I was born like this and I'm not complaining about it.> Wing said, feeling smart. Shredder was right, though. He did have scrawny legs and no hands. Sometimes he wondered what it'd be like to have hands instead of wings, but then he wouldn't be able to fly. Then it would be difficult for him.
Right when Wing had dug into Shredder's tail, his first thought was to keep on going, but that meant risk of getting slashed by the sentret's claws. Wing pinched Shredder's tail into the ground and then moved upward to get out of the dust tornado, but he then felt a pain in his chest. Wing was pushed back out of the dust and thrown to the ground. On his chest were feathers were supposed to be was three scratch marks that had ripped off only a few feathers. <My feathers! My beautiful feathers! Look what you did to them!> Wing yelled sadly. <Now I'm gonna get you!>
Wing pushed himself off the ground and flew into the sky. He was right above where the dust tornado was, spotting the sentret in the middle. If spearows didn't naturally have an aggressive nature, then he probably would never have the guts to do these kind of things. Wing let himself drop right down to where Shredder was standing, his beak ready for another striking. Wing was coming down fast, slowing the quick speed with his wings. He twirled around in circles and then vanished away from Megs's sight as he went straight into the dust tornado. Wing saw Shredder, coming in with his fierce beak.
"That's it, Wing! "Get'em!" Megs cheered on for her pokemon. "Let's win this for the team,"

"You are too a stupid girl! Look at how you laughed earlier." It took a few minutes for Todd to process exactly how the girl was insulting him. When he finally did--a volcano of pure anger triggered in his mind. "I AM A BOY! So you're not mistaken--though this is the first thing you were right about!" The words were screamed, making his voice high pitched and as squeawky as a unoiled door hinge. It seemed he had started to show his true colors--which were mostly made up of yelling, tantrum throwing, and foot stomps; combined with quite a lot of childish chauvinism.
<That's saying I am fatter then I was--and hwo would you know! You've never even met me before! Don't complain about it--at least you are not a round thing with legs!> Shredded yelled back, his anger beginning to dissapate. If it ahd only been a misunderstanding then they could just go back to calmly talking , and battling. Trying to murder another pokemon was so much more tiring then calmly battling them.
But it seemed the bird wanted to be murdered, and didn't want to calmly fight, a sentret's source of pride was its tail after all.
The Spearow's pinch sent another wave of pain through the Sentret's girt covered body. The feeling of flesh, and downy feathers meeting his own granite hard claws brought a feeling of sick satisfaction, tinged with a bit of remorse to Todd's pokemon. Then the Spearow disapepared from sight, as it was flung from the settling dustcloud. But its voice rang through the clearing. <Well--you hypocrite! Consider it ppayback for scarring up my perfect taiL!> The Sentret bounded forward, waiting for an attack.
Looking up he saw a flash of red that could only be the Sentret's breast feathers. Then the trainer yelled at the Spearow to "Get 'em". Bounding to the left he dodged the Spearow's peck. Then he leapt from the dust tornado. The claws on his hands glowed white, their glow slightly dimished by the blood from the Spearow.

"Jeez, kid. You don't have to scream about it, kid." Megs said, covering her ears from the high volume. "You really are immature." Megs wasn't really mad at the kid anymore. Just irritated that she was in a fight with a little kid. This was a total embarrassment to her record of enormous arguments and fights. Of all the people, it just had to be an immature brat. Megs sighed and thought of quick plans to get the battle over with fast so she didn't have to deal with the boy another second of her life.
<I couldn't care less what happened to your imperfect tail!> Wing shouted back at Shredder. He was so sure that his peck attack would hit Shredder, that he hadn't paid any attention to what Shredder was exactly doing. With a swipe, Wing was once again knocked out of the dust tornado and pushed to the ground. This time there was no bid damage to his feathers, but his pain was worser. By now, the dust tornado ceased and vanished along with the one might blow of wind.
"Wing," Megs said, worried. She looked at Shredder and his claws, blood dripping from the tips. "We won't let you get away with that easily." Megs said. She fixed her eyes upon Wing. "Wing," she started. "Don't use your peck attack until Shredder comes up to you close. For now, just keep using growl." Wing nodded his head. <I'll give it a shot.> he said. He looked over at Shredder, and, breathing in, let out his growl. Unlike Cheyenne, his growl wasn't a piercing scream. It was an actual growl that cooed throughout the area.
Wing danced around, scattering in a circle, still growling. He then ran up to Shredder, his growls not ending. He had his wings spread out like he was going to take off into the sky again, but he didn't. He took a breathe after his long growl and continued it, still running at Shredder. He then skidded to the side and twisted his body around and changed his direction of running, growls still going on.

"Covering your ears is immature too ya know!" Todd screeched back, but the volume of his voice was at least halved; it seemed he had taken her advice to heart. Of course it didn't seem as if he noticed--otherwise he would have huffed about how stupid she was--and made a few other comments before quieting down. The angry stance from before was still there, and the twitching in his leg made it obvious that quite a bit more stomping and yelling was on the way--all because he had to be battling a stupid girl.
<I'll make you care--and besides if you don't care about my woes--WHY THE HELL SHOULD I care about yours.> The scale of anger rose as the Sentret spoke, and slowly descended as the Spearow was lost from view, and the normal type was allowed to suck in a few deep breaths. The absence of the stinging dirt and various debris, also made his mood lighten considerably. Of course if he had knocked out the Spearow--well some small part of him would feel guilty.
But it seemed he had no reason to worry--the Spearow was back in action in mere seconds.
The Sentret listened to the girl, then paused, saying slowly: <Why would I go close?> After all how much harm could a growl attack do? Then the Spearow began growling, and kept doing it. The hoarse rough sound was taxing on the ears. With a growl of his own, the Sentret covered his.
"Shut the bird up Shredder! Defense curl first." His trainer screamed. With a sigh the Sentret curled into a ball, his body briefly covered in a silver aura.
Then he turned toward the Spearow to stop it, swinging out clumsily with his claws. But the bird Pokemon had skirted around, and was now running in a different direction.
Hopping furiously the Sentret tried to catch up--and when he got close, he swung out with his claws. Hopefully this would both shut up the Spearow, and stop its random running.

"What's so immature about covering my ears? You would too if you heard my screaming. Even adults like both our parents cover their ears sometimes, too." Megs pointed out to Todd. Now that she didn't have any real grudge on the kid, she didn't really think it would be worth it to start a fight with him. Instead she let her insides relax and her calmness returned. She focused on the battle more than on Todd now, trying to concentrate on Shredder's movements and plans.
Wing was now getting a bit dizzy from all the switching of his running formations and his voice gave a squeak every once in a while when he was growling. He tried avoiding Shredder as many times as he could like Megs had told him to. And so far, it was actually working. Then he heard Shredder's trainer command him.
<I don't see what good a defense curl will do. And your scratch will be useless now. If I do get hit, it'll be like you threw a pillow at me.> Wing said, making himself look as if he'd been doing this all his life. But of course he hasn't. It was only a little while ago when Megs had caught him as her own pokemon that Todd had suddenly appeared and asked for a battle. Well, he more of forced the battle upon Megs, but that didn't sop her from accepting it.
Wing paid extreme attention to where he was going, and his surroundings. Occasionally he looked back at his trainer to see any signs of a new strategy, or possibly a smirk on her face meaning that they would win soon, cause Wing couldn't really focus on Shredder himself that much since he was running away from him. Every once in a while he turned his head to see if Shredder was following him and he would be.
And then the sentret came up closer to Wing, letting his claws do the work for him. In fact, it didn't look like he was paying much attention to where he swiping his claws, hoping that it would hit Wing. Wing turned his whole body, facing his direction at the sentret. Then he pushed his foot on the ground and let his beak shin white as usual. He then pushed himself at Shredder with his beak right at his head when he had gotten closer to him.

"Cause your being cowardly--and isn't sticking your hands in yoour ear and going "NANANANANANA!" considered immature?!" It seemed the young boy had taken the time alloted to calm down quite a bit, the volume he spoke at was indoors approipate, and the redness of his enraged face had descended to a much mroe calm pink. Of course his tensedf muscles, and his general pose remailed the same. A slight smirk was present on his face as he watched the battle: "Your bird is such a girl--look at it whine that it got a feather ripped out." He observed, shaking his head. Of course he said not a thing about his Sentret and the rather small injury sending it into a spaz.
The Sentret couldn't help but laugh at the Spearow's squeawks. It was as if someone had let a Ratttata into the room.
Of course the humor dissapated as the battle started anew.
<Makes it os your attack doesn't hurt!--and unless you deadened your nerves, if I get my claws in the right spot it WILL hurt. Morel ike I threw a bed at you...then a pillow.> The sentret grumbled back, of course the Spearow was right. It wasn't something Shredder wanted to say aloud though. Besides if he got his claws under the skin, then it would hurt--quite a bit in fact.
The Sentret stumbled backward as the Spearow landed, and struck out with his beak. The attack grazed his stomach, and quite effectively knocked the wind out of him. "DON'T TAKE THAT SHREDDER! SCRATCH!" With a sigh the Sentret's clws began glowing, and leaning forward he attempted to jam them into the most vulnerable part of the flying type--his wing joints. Then he switched tactics, and pulling the original attacking claw to the right, he tried to distract the red breasted Spearow. Using what he hoped was a good oppurtunity, he jabbed forward with his free paw.

Megs looked back at Todd, hearing him reply back to her. That was usually what a conversation was like, wasn't it? People usually talked back to one another after the other said something, either replying back about the comment, or staring a new topic for the conversation. But this also seemed like an argument because of all the yelling and rude comments the two were throwing at each other. Couldn't either two come up with something nice to say for once?
"Actually, I do think that is immature." Megs said, agreeing to Todd's reply. "But I didn't cover my ears and go 'nanana'. I just covered my ears. But you did say nanana, didn't you?" Megs pointed out, just being a smart person and telling a truthful fact.
While the two trainers continued to squabble over being immature and grown up, the pokemon had been having their own small conversation while fighting. It wasn't really a conversation actually. The two pokemon were just telling threats to each other, and that was what pokemon usually did in a battle.
<A bed? If you're throwing a bed at me, then it must be some soft mattress. I always thought a pillow was more comfortable than a bed, but I guess I was mistaken.> Wing said to Shredder. And then he had hit him, beak straight at the guts. Wing smirked happily for his good hit. What could the sentret do now? Wing saw the glowing white claw on his left side.
<I told you already, it won't hurt.> Wing said, but Shredder didn't scratch Wing. Instead, he had moved it to his face and scratched with his other claw, getting him in his wing. Wing cooed in pain and, without even knowing, pushed even deeper into Shredder's skin. The attack would've been in more pain if Wing hadn't done any of the growling earlier. It was a good thing, too, or he might have been too weak to fly around with the wing now. Coming back into reality, Wing noticed his beak was still in contact with Shredder's stomach and Shredder's claws were still clutched to Wing's wing. Taking the chance, Wing let his beak glow pure white and strike at Shredder's chest.

Todd blushed a bright tomato red: "I was just showing you a example--of what you normally do!" He still thought that plugging your ears was immature--but the girl did have a point he was the one who had went--NO! The boy shook his head banishing the very thought that the girl could be correct about anything. Much less in a argument with Todd. "Quit being such a smarty pants!" He added quietly, hoping she hadn't heard her. It was his way of subtly jabbing at her.
< A BED IS HEAVIER THEN A PILLOW! They use smart mouthed little feather filled idiots like you to stuff the mattresses!> The Sentret growled back, not used to taunting, he found that he epicly failed at the sport. So he settled for growling, and shaking his fists at the younger Spearow.
<I said it depends where I hit you!> The Sentret re-explained, shaking his heads. it was hard not to be amazed at the birds inability to comprehend. If one poked someone with a paperclip in the finger, it would hurt but not kill, if they did so to the jugglar, that person would die. It was much the same with battles, sure the attack was weak, but it could still hurt. Taking in a shuddering breath the Sentret continued--he was exhausted. But he wouldn/t be allotted a break.
The Sentret pulled his claws out, and hastily apologized. But before he had finished, the Spearow's beak slammed into his chest, and staggering back a few feet he collapsed to the forest floor. A perfect victory for Mel.
Sticking his tongue out, and yelling a curse word at the other trainer, Todd walked off into the undergrowth. Throwing 200 pokedollars on the ground. It was only good manners to do so after all. Pausing he came back, and returned his Sentret. Then he ran off again, ignring any passing jibes from the girl.

Wing, exhausted and beat, fell to the ground and into a deep sleep. Now that the battle was over, he didn't need to do anymore. Megs took Wing's pokeball from her belt and returned him into the ball, congratulating him on the victory.
"Take a good rest," she said, re-placing the pokeball back onto the black belt. Looking over at the beaten Shredder and his trainer Todd, Megs let her happiness take over. "Yes! Our first win!" she cheered happily, jumping around in a circle. "I can't believe we won!" Megs let her energetic self overcome her calm and relaxed emotion. Now that she had won, she needed to celebrate on her victory.
As she saw Todd throw the money on the ground and run away, she stuck her tongue at him before he was gone from her sight. "Serves you right, kid!" Megs said, picking up the pokedollars. "Hopefully I won't run into him again. Now, time to continue." Megs put the pokedollars away in her pocket and walked down the path. But the atmosphere felt a little different than usual.
"Oh, that's right! Cheyenne is inside her pokeball." Megs said, remembering that she had returned her to the pokeball during the battle with Ripper. Usually, Cheyenne would be walking alongside with Megs, but knowing that she was tired, Megs didn't bring her back out from the pokeball.
"I wonder when we'll reach the next town. I've only got one potion left to use on either Cheyenne or Wing. I'll have to use it only if something comes up." Megs said, feeling around her pockets for the last potion. "And I could always feed a berry to them. I'll have to do that the next time they're out of the pokeballs. They deserve it." Megs checked her other pocket and felt at the ten berries she had gotten along with the starter pack from Professor Mahogany back at Barkwish Town.
