Name: Darkrai
Gender: Male
Race: Pokemon (Darkrai)
Age: Unknown
Sexuality Preference: Straight
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Appearance: Darkrai's body is almost completely black; his hands are clawed, and his legs...don't exist. Instead, it's just a black, swirling vortex on the bottom of his body. He does have some color on his body, of course. His collar is a deep, blood red, his eyes an icy blue.
Smoke billows forth from the top of his head, giving him the appearance of hair. When angered or excited, his face won't show emotion. Instead the smoke that erupts from his head will billow out at a more rapid pace, or even change color. He can pump out exorbitant amounts of it whenever he needs to make a quick escape. Strangely enough, the smoke is breathable, but smells like sulphur. For those unaware of sulphur's smell, imagine a rotten egg.
He maintains a calm demeanor at all times, even in the face of certain death. His movements are fluid and agile, his speed incredible. Of course, he's not very strong (physically, anyway), but is usually capable of persuading a stronger pokemon to do all the heavy lifting when an obstacle blocks his path that he can't simply fly over.
______________________________________________
Personality: A mischief-maker and lover of combat. He's usually a loner, but willing to accept help if he knows there's no way to win on his own. He doesn't need to eat/drink/etc. Instead, he'll feed off the dreams of wandering trainers and Pokemon to keep his energy up. If he happens to find a trainer having an interesting dream, he might decide to follow them or even join their team so he can see more of their dreams.
When not feeding or battling, he spends his time in dark, lonely places resting, or shadowing trainers in an attempt to play tricks on them.
He can travel quickly by passing through a shadow to any other nearby shadow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
History: Darkrai was crafted eons ago by the Life-Bringer, known to most simply as Arceus, to serve as the embodiment of darkness. Arceus wasn't a fool, of course, and so he didn't release Darkrai in the world without a way to keep him in check. So, he and Cresselia were born at once, two halves of the same whole, darkness and light. Without one, the other cannot exist.
But that doesn't mean they have to get along. In fact, Darkrai was disgusted by Cresselia's very existance. After all, she was everything he couldn't be, the reverse also true. He was born for war, combat, death. She was of harmony, peace, life. It disgusted him, but he never let it get to him. He simply avoided Cresselia whenever possible. He had to; if she had her way, he'd never eat again. They'd come to blows on multiple occasions where one didn't approve of the actions of another, and each time had ended in a draw.
This recent business with Team Pravus trying to snatch up rare Pokemon hasn't concerned him much; after all, they have yet to try and attack him, so he doesn't have a reason to care. Of course, if the opportunity to lead them to Cresselia ever came up, he'd jump at the chance.
