Kassidy had just gotten her totodile, Crash, yesterday, but she was already more than ready to take on a wild pokemon. Crash hated being in his pokeball, so he walked along next to her while she wandered through the grass, looking for wild pokemon for them to battle. Crash had found an apple a ways back, and was munching on it as they walked, but Kassidy doubted that the fruit would last very long in the creature's strong jaws. She had left her bike a little ways away, and brought only a backpack with her. It had lunch in it, and a jacket, but not much else. She wasn't planning on being out here too long, after all. That was the idea, anyway. She wanted to test out Crash's abilities, and maybe catch another pokemon of her own while she was at it.
Crash, meanwhile, was eager to get into a battle. Kassidy seemed to know where she was going, so he followed her for now. Plus, he had this great apple to chew on. Sure, some juice was dribbling down his chin, but who cared? It tasted great. Just add a swimming pool and this whole scene would be perfect... Well, a swimming pool and maybe a female totodile. He smirked at the thought. The totodile frowned though, as he noticed that he'd eaten almost all of the apple. All that was left was the core. With a shrug, he popped that into his mouth as well, chewing it noisily before swallowing it with a huge gulp. <Hey! When are we gonna fight, huh?> he demanded, tugging on the leg of Kassidy's cargo shorts. She looked down at him with a grin. "What? You out of food? Sorry, but I'm saving the rest for lunch. You'll need it after the battle... As soon as I find one." she said with a little shrug. It wasn't a question that she'd find a fight soon enough. It was just a matter of exactly when. That had been a bit question of late. When she was going to leave home, when she was going to get her first pokemon, when she was going to call home, and now when she was going to find her first wild pokemon. Well, if she had anything to see about it, that last one would happen in the next few minutes, if not sooner.

TRIAL MOD POST
A soft rustling was to be heard in the tall grasses not far ahead of the new trainer and her Pokemon. As they drew closer, the rustling paused, as if the agitator was holding its breath. Would they come closer? Yes - the pair took another step and a small purple head popped up over the top of the gently waving grass fronds. Ears and whiskers twitching, the mouse-like Pokemon surveyed its approaching enemies, a grass seed clutched in her front paws.. This was a young Rattata, not exactly freash out of the nest but still reletively new to the world. And this was the first trainer she'd ever seen.
Ratatta made a quick descision: She would challenge the human and her newly picked Pokemon and see how far she got. What was the worst that could happen?Abondoning her seed collection, the Ratatta let out a loud hiss and jumping out in front of Kassidy and Crash. The wild Pokemon fluffed out her fur to make herself seem bigger and scarier. Maybe if she was scary enough, the two would go away and leave her do her foraging.
They sure didn't look like they would be much trouble to her, anyway. A messy, clumsy Totodile and his lumbering human trainer. No match for this mighty Ratatta! <Go away!> The little purple mouse growled menacingly, baring her miniature inscizors. <This is my place. Leave me alone!> Without warning, the Ratatta threw herself at the Totodile in a frantice 'Tackle' attack.

Ooc: Yes! I was actually hoping for a rattata. Either that or a sentret. xD /Ooc
Kassidy sighed, about ready to toss her backpack on the ground and take a little break. They'd been wandering around in the grass for half an hour now, at the very least, but hadn't seen a single pokemon apart from the occasional pidgey flying far overhead (and those were far out of Crash's reach). Crash was getting irritated as well, gnashing his teeth and snapping at twigs, branches, or even rocks as he passed by them, breaking or cracking all with his enormously strong jaws. Those didn't help much though. He wanted a fight, and he wanted one now.
Both trainer and pokemon's wishes were about to be realized, and in not too long a time either. The rattata suddenly leapt out of the bushes, surprising both Kassidy and Crash as it appeared, and hissed threateningly. Kassidy wasn't worried, and Crash just looked down at the little thing with an almost hungry grin. <So, you wanna fight, yeah? Okay!> Kassidy was about to tell Crash to wait a few seconds before attacking, but he was already running forward, jaws snapping and ready to snatch up the little rat. Before he could connect, however, the rattata slammed into his stomach forcefully, pushing the wind out of him and sending him rolling over and over backwards. He finally hit a tree stump, ending upside-down and dizzy, not to mention gasping for breath.
"I didn't tell you to attack..." Kassidy admonished, quickly setting the totodile on his feet again. "Now, are you going to listen to me this time?" Crash sighed, but nodded sullenly. "Okay. Use leer to lower its defence, and then go in and scratch it." Crash reluctantly leveled his gaze at the rattata, his eyes glowing blue as he stared at the rat pokemon. The glow faded away, and he immediately charged at the rattata, claws working back and forth to hit it as many times as he could in payback for his aching belly.

The Rattata nodded her head resolutely as the TOtodile stumbled back; obviously winded. <Tha's what you get for trespassing on ther's properties! You need to learn some manners!> The violet rodent scolded, a slight smirk curling up the edges of her muzzle. Serves him, right, damn brute! Shifting her wieght the Rattata leaned forward. <Now please--get ou' and LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!> The petite pokemon snarled, her face contorted into one of sheer rage, meant to intimidate and scare away others, of course when you were so small, it usually didn't work very well. Judging by how fast the trainer and Totodile got back into sync this time would be no different.
The Rattata watched as the Totodile's eyes flared a white blue. To her he looked like some ancient monster of the deep, and she surrendered a foot or so of ground with her backpedaling. When the blue glow faded she found herself looking at the same stupid creature from earlier. Drawing hr lips back from her blunt teeth she growled at the Totodile. Openig her mouth to deliver another order she found herself beng charged after by the angry Totodile. Dodging out of the way, she hunkered low to the ground and shot forward in another tackle, his claws scraping skin off of her back as she attempted to take out one of his thick stubby feet.
This oppenent wasn't stupid, well the girl; the Totodile was. <Listneing to a human, disgraceful, bowing down just because I hit you!? You are a wimp indeed!> Now she just had to break uup any resemblance to teamwork the pair had happening. Otherwise she was in big trouble, that scratch HAD hurt after all, not that she was humble enough to admit it. Pride in this case was a good thing!

Crash almost felt a little guilty for attacking the rattata. Sure, he was spoiling for a fight, but it was almost too cute to attack, especially after that little display of aggression that showed itself when it growled. Of course, the key word there was "almost." Crash grinned widely as he felt his claws make contact with the rattata's back, although he didn't notice the other pokemon trying to make an attack against his leg, and he stumbled forward a little bit, having to use his front legs to push himself upright. He wasn't hurt too badly - he wasn't too fast, but Crash could take a lot more punishment than most other pokemon of his experience level. He'd learned that back in Professor Mahogany's lab, where his sheer endurance had gotten him through several little scraps for food.
He turned around, growling as the rattata taunted him. <I am NOT a wimp!> he shouted, snapping his jaws in irritation. He wanted to run at the little rat again, but he wasn't going to open himself up for another tackle like he had last time. His tummy hurt now, and he might even have a stomachache later on thanks to that stupid rat. Kassidy, who couldn't understand poke-speech but knew a taunt when she saw one nonetheless, spoke up then. "Don't let it distract you." she said, deciding not to give a direct order this time. "You can beat it." it wasn't an order to attack, necessarily, so it gave Crash more freedom to do what he wanted. <See, she doesn't just give me orders.> he said triumphantly, puffing out his chest a little bit. He wanted to get back to the fight though, and so he stomped his legs on the ground a little, getting ready to charge.
<Take this!> he growled, rushing toward the purple rat with jaws snapping. What he lacked in grace he more than made up for in enthusiasm and endurance, that was for certain. This time, he actually used a little strategy, taking a swipe at the rattata while snapping with his jaws just to the left an instant later. He had guessed as to the direction the rattata would jump, but if he was right he'd hopefully have the little rat in his mouth, and from there... Well, he'd just bite down harder, he supposed. Once something was in his mouth, it never got away.

The Rattata chuckled as the Totodile stumbled forward. Of course he did catch himself, which was rather disappointing to the territorial female. But for now it was quite alright ,after all this guy had fire, and she would have a few more chances to trip her before it was over.
<YOU ARE TOO~! You scaly pansy!> The Rattata retorted, her tail waving frantically behind her Shifting her weight, and fidgeting she waited for a sign of any action, besides childish comebacks similar to "AM NOT!", of course judging by the size of the space between this things eats, that was a long time in coming. It was obvious he lacked any brains to go wit the spunk. <Really--"Don't let it distract you--"sounds like a order to me." It was a order, not a advisory, the Totodile was correct on the second statement, but not overall.
Jumping back and forth the Rattata, limbered up her muscles. Wrinkling her nose, and ears she prepared for a attack.
Her hind legs tensed as the Totodile surged forward, he was virtually excluding enthusiasm, and anticipation. Jumping backward, she easily dodged the Scratch attack, landing upright, she lowered herself to the ground, then the Totodiles jaws snapped to the right, and she seemed to disappear. A flash of white accompanied this.
Then there was a shrill <HEYAH!> and she came streaking out of the sky in a Quick-Tackle. He paws were flattened, and jammed together. Making a hammer like point, this was directed right in between the eye-ridges of the Totodile. The speed she was moving down at at least tripled her weight, along with the fact that her muscles were taut; made this attack rather dangerous. <I didn't want your fit, so please TRY THIS ON!> Maybe this would jiggle what this Totodile called brains into action, and make this a interesting battle. (Begin counting words ^ ^

Ooc: Eh? I have been counting words... What do you mean?
Crash growled at the rattata, baring his oversized fangs at the little rodent. <I am NOT a pansy!> he shouted in return, his temper rising at the purple-furred pokemon. He snarled again as the rattata said that it sounded like he was taking orders. He knew she wasn't just giving him an order, but he didn't know what word he was trying to think of that would describe what he meant. He wasn't great with words, but he was good at fighting, so he decided he'd beat this little twerp up to show her who the pansy was. Unlike some, Crash had no problem hitting girls, especially when they hit him first. I'll show her who's the pansy... he thought, charging at her again with another shout.
He scratched, bit, but both attacks missed. Confused, he looked around for the litle rodent, but she was no-where to be seen. Kassidy intervened then, saying, "Look up!" Crash did, just in time to hear the cry of the little rat-pokemon above his head. He saw her coming down, and growled in return. He almost opened his mouth to catch her within his jaws, but suddenly an idea came to him. His huge mouth opened a little in a wide smile, and in the instant he had to react to the rattata's attack, he jumped up to meet her, squeezing his eyes shut as his skull connected with her paws. He had aimed so that her paws connected further back on his head than she intended, and although he had a monster headache, he hadn't been knocked unconscious. He fell back to the ground, dazed a little bit, and lay there on his back for a moment or two to recover.
Kassidy was standing close to him watching this whole affair, having decided to let Crash do what he wanted to, at least for the next few seconds. When he fell back to the ground, she looked down at him worriedly - until he smiled and gave her the thumbs-up sign. She shook her head at him slightly, watching as the overexuberant totodile slowly sat upright. She then pulled a pokeball from her pocket, preparing to toss it at the rattata, assuming it didn't show too much more energy. If it did, she might have to ask Crash to pull his punches a little bit to tire it out more, but hopefully that last connection with the thick-skulled totodile had dazed it sufficiently.

(Sorry--XD I missed it Xatchez)
The Rattata opened her mouth to shout "ARE TOO!". But then decided that by saying that she was more childish then a babe fresh out of the lab. SO she merely raised a eyebrow, and slowly shook her head at the Totodile. Mocking him obviously, or at least his level of intellect. <If you wish to deny it to make yourself feel better, please, be my guest. SEEING AS YOU ARE STANDING YOU FAT ASS ON MY HOUSE!> Which was true, she lived in a burrow, a little to the right of where the fight was occuring.
The Rattata cursed as the perceptive human instructed her thick skulled pokemon to look up. Then she found herself flying into a open maw full of--smirks? The tooth filled smile had widened, and then the Totodile jumped. Her paws slipped over the back of his head, hitting the spike behind his neck, but his snout smacked right into her snout, sending her flying a few yards. She landed with a dazed thump. Stars spun around her head, a few pidgeys flying around them, shaking herh ead she rose back to her feet. Glaring at the Totodile she began walking forwad, occasionally stumbling. <Baby waby got a headache?> She slurred, sounding like she had ddrank a few bottles before this battle had started. Blood dripped fown her mouth, that damned Totodile had knocked one of her teeth loose!
Spitting a wad of blood on the floor, she thundered forward in a quick attack. Her own momentum beign all that kept her from a long meeting with the ground below her. She werved from right to left, avoiding any possible attacks the stupid Totodile threw at her. Then with a yell she jumped at him , aiming her tail at his ugly nose.
