-----Pravus Scientist-----
Name:
"Legendary" Zen Yukio
Age:
Thirty-Three [33]
Gender:
Male
Race:
Human
Hometown:
Phelac City
Sexual Preference:
Bisexual [Bi], however he seems to lean more towards those of the male sex. He really values those he can fully trust regardless of gender.
Allegiance:
Team Pravus. The man is a Respected Scientist however he's trying to work his way up even further in the ranks.
Personality:
- Nervous [Vigilant, a little Reactive (with fear, anyway), Sensitive, Apprehensive]
Poor Zen is extremely nervous. The man has been ever sense he joined Team Pravus. In the lower ranks when no one knew who he was and he was just a new scientist the higher-ups would give him many tasks and purposely stress him out. Some even loved to pick on him until he shook with terror just for the fun of it. The anxious behaviors he developed because of this causes him to have difficulties socializing with new people and remaining calm when in the presents of those higher than him in rank. He doesn’t feel so bad when with those of his rank and lower but he’ll still distrust them unless he gets to know them.
This nervousness results in the man becoming very fidgety when in the company of commanders and other high-ranking coworkers. Zen will do his best not to make eye-contact and he’ll fidget his fingers. Sometimes if a commander, an administrator, the chief scientist, or even the president are angry with him he might shake violently and stutter when trying to explain himself. - Intelligent [Perfectionist, Kind of Expedient, Practical, Open-To-Change]
The scientist is a rather smart man. Many do not see this part of him because it may be hidden behind his nervousness. The male also doesn’t often speak with an extensive vocabulary which could be considered a sort of disguise when out in the world. He doesn’t want anyone knowing what he does for a living so during those rare times he’s not in a lab he’ll pretend that he’s just a regular trainer if another tries conversing with him.
He’s happy to try new things if people he trusts show him. He’s also very helpful if a friend and will do his best to please those he’s assisting. - Solitary [Self-Reliant, Semi-Reserved, Mix of Concrete and Abstract Reasoning, Private]
Zen spends a lot of time alone. He’ll most likely be researching in his lab or reading alone in a room if one goes looking for him. The scientist has difficulty approaching and getting to know people so he likes to be alone as much as possible. The only time he would go in search of another human being would be if he’s discovered something he feels has to be passed on to those higher up... However one must be careful when charging him with a duty for if he uncovers something he wants to keep to himself he won’t inform the higher ranking members until he’s completely finished with it.
His reasoning is concrete with a little bit of abstractness thrown in there. If confronted with an odd situation he thinks carefully, considering several things instead of clouding his mind with one thought. - Power Hungry [Deferential (when with a high-ranking member), Serious]
Zen isn’t overly power-hungry but he has some desire for a higher rank. He works hard to suck up to those that allow it and do his job. He even trains his pokemon to make them appear toucher after every session. The male hopes to continues getting raises this way.
Hobbies:
- Pokemon/Genetic Research
- Doing his paperwork
- Reading/Studying
- Spending time with and training his pokemon
- Watching/Studying everyone closely
- Writing about pretty much anything (Like himself, people he knows, etc.)
- Attempting to work his way up in ranks
- Avoiding almost everyone (Mostly the higher-ups)
- Watching excessively gory or sci-fi movies
- Observing the work of his fellow Pravus members (be them scientist, grunt, commander, etc.) if they allow him to
- Watching pokemon battles (to learn strategies and become stronger himself)
Physical Appearance:
[Build]
Tall and thin, perhaps considered a little willowy. Zen has no muscle on his body so as a result is very physically weak. He doesn’t care about this weakness though because he knows he can trust his pokemon to get him out of dangerous situations. A little under six feet tall he weighs anywhere between 120 to 180 lbs. Never anything more or less than the extremes. His height allows him to run quickly if the need should arise however this makes him less able to make sudden turns so his best bet is running in a straight path. It also causes him to tire quickly if he sprints as fast as possible.
[Clothing]
For clothing he tend to wear dull colors like black, gray, and white. From time to time someone might catch him in blue or red though. It all depends on how he feels. He loves layers and will normally have a shirt under some form of hooded top. He likes comfortable pants and jackets to keep warm. Often there will be a pair of black or white shoes on his feet which are nice for work and are also quite comfortable for walking in. An awesome choice of footwear for those with mixed lives.
[Face]
Stubble around his chin and along his jaw is ever-present. Why? Zen doesn’t exactly like the “clean-shaven” look on him. It always gives him a different appearance, one he doesn’t like. Your appearance defines your identity and he simply didn’t like that particular character. Rectangular glasses rest on his nose to allow him a better ability to see. His vision isn’t the greatest in the world without them but he can manage. They often slip down his nose to allow others a full view of his eyes.
[Eyes and Hair]
Amber eyes that serve as a window into emotions. When hidden completely behind his glasses it’s a little easer for him to hide how he’s really feeling but when they slip down they’re naked easily viewable by anyone who wishes. They often display fear and dark thoughts but those aren’t the only things. Pretty much anyone can tell what he’s feeling if he allows them to by simply studying his yellowish eyes close enough. As for his hair Zen brushes it back. That way it stays out of his way when working or battling. However there’s a single strand that he simply can’t tame. It falls out of place and hangs in the middle of his face. It moves to the side at times, depending on his current position.
---Pokemon, Items, & History---
Pokemon:
Name:
Dare
Species:
Growlithe
Level:
42
Personality:
The Growlithe got his nickname from being so daring. From the day he was captured by Zen he would always be the brave one of the group. Out of the pokemon owned by the scientist Dare is the first to step up to a challenge. The puppy will actually stand up to a full-grown Wailord for his master, or any pokemon/human for that matter. The fire type has always seen himself as a guardian to Zen and always protects him; be it anything from life threatening harm to simple loneliness. He likes all Zen’s other pokemon but will become irritated with them if they’re mean to him.
Attacks:
- Crunch
- Roar
- Flamethrower
- Flame Wheel
- Dig
- Howl
- Leer
- Take Down
Name:
Rage
Species:
Rhyhorn
Level:
40
Personality
This pokemon, much like Dare, got his nickname from his personality as well. From the moment this pokemon is released from its pokeball it charges at its master. Poor Zen! The man has never done anything to anger him yet it will only battle the pokemon it was meant to in the first place if it’s attacked by it. If not Rage will simply chase Zen around until called back into the pokeball it resides within. Perhaps the creature isn’t angry at all. Maybe it simply wants to play with its owner. He likes all of Zen’s other pokemon except his Staraptor because of its stuck-up attitude.
Attacks:
- Horn Attack
- Stomp
- Fury attack
- Endure
- Rock Polish
- Payback
- Take Down
- Horn Drill
Name:
Breeze
Species:
Staraptor
Level:
35
Personality:
This pokemon sees itself as the “Strong-Silent” type even though it’s the lowest level on the team. This seems to be a result of the fact that it was the first to reach its final evolution stage however even as a Starly it was somewhat stuck-up. Ah well, Zen has always loved Breeze and he’s willing to put up with his excessive cockiness for that reason. Even though the flying pokemon often appears to think it’s too good for even its master when alone with Zen he’ll allow the man to stroke his head and talk to him. The bird does care for its trainer, really. He doesn’t really like Zen’s other pokemon but he has the most patients for Steady.
Attacks:
- Tackle
- Quick Attack
- Wing Attack
- Double Team
- Whirlwind
- Arial Ace
- Close Combat
- Fly
Name:
Nature
Species:
Weepinbell
Level:
38
Personality:
The uneasy one of the pokemon and the only female. Nature is much like her trainer in terms of being afraid of those more important than her and danger. Oh, how she hates danger. Pokemon battles are fine as long as she’s not ridiculously outmatched. For example she might faint if faced with an over grown Charizard when she comes out of her pokeball. The only time she’ll actually fight something like that is if she’s doing it for her master’s life... or something along those lines. She’s afraid of all the other pokemon except Steady however she still tries to spend time and play with them.
Attacks:
- Vine Whip
- Wrap
- Poisonpowder
- Acid
- Sweet Scent
- Magical Leaf
- Cut
- Toxic
Name:
Steady
Species:
Slowpoke
Level:
37
Personality:
Relaxed and easygoing to say the least. He was named steady because nothing seems to disrupt his constant relaxed state (besides battling). The pokemon, like many that share its race, enjoys lying around pretty much anywhere as long as his master is close by. It absolutely loves the beach so Zen takes him there every now and then just to sit in it’s company. He’s the perfect pokemon to sit with if one wants to be in silence but do not wish to be alone. Never fear, however, for this pokemon will rise to the challenge of a battle if called upon. Steady likes every single one of Zen’s pokemon, even Breeze!
Attacks:
- Confusion
- Yawn
- Rain Dance
- Water Pulse
- Headbutt
- Disable
- Zen Headbutt
- Rest
Items:
- Ultraball x30
Captures Wild Pokemon but provides a higher catch rate than a Greatball - Journal (with a pencil)
Contains Important Notes on pretty much everything - Max Potion x3
Fully Restores the health of a Pokemon - Full Heal x5
Heals All Status Problems of a Pokemon - Lab Key
A Special Key/Keycard that allows access to almost all of the Team Pravus Labs
History:
Zen Yukio was born in Phelac city. He lived with his mother and father who were both very kind and loving. From an infant to the age of twenty the three lived together in a small two-bedroom house. His father and mother were both employed at the power plant and made a good amount of money. Sense they worked there they owned their very own electric pokemon, thinking it would be neat and interesting. His mother owned a shinx while his father possessed a pikachu. Both pokemon were just as kind as their owners.
Still with no pokemon of his own his parents offered to catch him one. Zen refused, saying he wanted to catch his own so he could feel like it was truly his. They agreed and he was lent his mother's shinx and a couple pokeballs. The male didn’t have to go far. Once he got to Route Six, The Mountain Trail, which was right next to his home town he came into contact with a male Growlithe. At first it only looked at him, watching his movements closely. It only attacked when Zen sent out his dad’s shinx to defend himself with. It was a harder battle than it should have been because of the dog’s sheer determination but eventually it was too tired to keep fighting. The soon-to-be trainer threw his pokeball and it sucked the Growlithe inside. The pokemon put up quite the struggle, costing Zen two pokeballs, but in the end the growlithe became the man’s partner. Dare was the name given to him because of his guts in battle.
Over time their friendship strengthened. They were best friends even as Zen grew older. They traveled around everywhere together and the man was even able to catch more pokemon. Eventually, at the age of twenty-nine, he met a member of Team Pravus, battled him, and won. The grunt was shocked but offered him a position in their organization. Having no real goals in life except to become stronger he accepted. He started out as a grunt and worked his way up quickly in the ranks.

Sample Post: [This is one of my old posts from another Roleplay forum. I hope that’s okay. It was posted in November, 2007.]
Whack! Thump. Thump.
Just as one of the few doctors in the area walked in through the door he witnessed a drunken fight. Two men, completely intoxicated, decided that they would get out of their seats and pound each other. The problem was that after a single punch to the face one went down and the other, being so incredibly loaded, lost his balance and fell on top of the other. Both remained there, too dizzy to even attempt getting back to their feet.
Their health is going to hell. The only thing that ran though the man's mind as he stood there by the two bodies that were blocking his path. After the quick thought he stepped over them as if they were nothing more than logs in his way on a forest path. They only groaned and hiccupped once. Well good for them, still managing to create signs of life! Signs of life were normally considered a good thing.
Alexander made his way carefully around the inn, which was no easy task. Being the observant guy that he was Alex was constantly shifting his gaze from left to right, ducking flying mugs or other objects. He had to weave in and out of tables and people, doing his best not to bump into anyone looking for a fight. At one point he even had to jump over a puddle of... something, glancing back for a split-second wondering what it was.
There was a stench in the air, alcohol mixed with sweat. The smell caused him to wrinkle his nose for a moment. Not in disgust, it was just a reaction. Alex had seen and smelled much worse than this in his professions. Every once in a while his step would create a creak in the floorboards, however it was very hard to hear over the laughing, singing, and other drinking mishaps.
As the doctor neared the back he stopped to scan the place properly. In a corner, sitting all by herself was,
"Korra?" he said her name to himself, knowing full well that no one would hear him. Not even her. It was just the surprise to seeing her.
At first he didn't recognize his comrade. It had been a while since he last saw the younger Sparrow. When it finally completely registered who he was looking at, sitting alone at a four-man table, a grin formed on his lips. The look in his chocolate eyes gave him a somewhat sly appearance.
Starting to unbutton his long, brown coat and sidestepping past a waitress he moved toward the lonesome woman. The grin remained as he approached and took the wooden chair across from her.
He didn't speak; he just finished undoing his coat to reveal the usual white shirt under a brown vest. Alex's pants were a slightly darker shade of brown than his vest and his shoes were gray, most likely black at one point in their existence. He had just come from his clinic and thought to it was a good idea to visit the inn for a small drink before turning in for the night. He never had alcohol that often so a little bit every now and then couldn't hurt, right?
He leaned back in his chair and looked at her to see if she would react positively or not. The doctor slash healer continued to show off his, what was it that some people called them? 'Pearly whites?' Yeah, that was it.

There's something about this profile I don't like. I'm not sure what it is however. I just feel like I could do better. Maybe it was bad choices of words? Perhaps I just fail? If it gets accepted that's great though! xD
