Sky passed through Vhenkil Town, but she didn't go anywhere there. She wanted to move on, and that was exactly what she did. Following the map, she found herself in Route Two, which was where she intended to be. Cloud was at her side too, who looked quite sure of himself since the last battle, which gave her quite a rush. Sky was also proud of herself when she won the battle together with Cloud. That was definitely an experience that she wanted to hold for a long time. When she was at home, she never got that rush unless a Pokemon approached her, which wasn't often at all. Sky smiled and looked around the green forest, which seemed to be surrounded with trees. Sky kept Cloud close by her since it seemed like one could easily get lost in such a huge forest. After looking at her Pokedex while they were in Vhenkil Town, Sky learned that Cloud was on level 13 and learned Dragon Rage and Sandstorm. Sky was definitely proud of that since Cloud now knew four moves, and therefore more styles of fighting. Sky didn't want to use 'Tackle' all the time anyway since it would've seemed to be quite repetitive. "So Cloud, how does it feel to feel like a champion?" Sky smiled at him when they were already consideraly into the forest. They still walked along the path that was there, but not at fast as before.
Cloud looked back at Sky with a proud face. He hadn't felt so accomplished since he was chosen as a companion for a trainer finally. <I feel great!> Of course, he knew that Sky couldn't understand him, but under her direction, he won the battle. He therefore felt that he should stick with her under all the circumstances; she wasn't stupid, and that made him proud to be her Pokemon. He wondered if he was going to go through another battle since he learned two new moves, and he was level 13. Eight levels stronger...now that was an accomplishment. He wanted to test his new moves out already to see what they would be like. Cloud wanted to see how he fared against other Pokemon here anyway; it would be pretty exciting to see how he did. As he walked through the forest, he stayed by Sky though since he knew he needed her direction on what moves to use for a battle.
Sky nodded, even though she couldn't understand what he was saying. Though with a slight nod of the head, she figured he probably felt pretty good about himself. So, keeping him still near her, Sky continued walking through the forest on the path. She crossed lots of different trees of different sizes and colors. Some were evergreen trees while some were brown with wilt, or some were blooming. It was quite the scenery as Sky enjoyed what she could see. The sun was setting and it was almost all dark, but Sky continued on. She figured she'd get out of here sooner or later anyway and go rest in the more major town of Sunset City. Sky actually was planning on reading Cloud the excerpt from Alice in Wonderland, but since it was almost dark, it would hurt her eyes. While she walked, Sky was actually pretty excited for a battle all things considering. She wanted to test out Cloud's new moves also since they would provide a pretty interesting battle, all things considering. Though with darkness fast approaching, it would be hard to see...and with the trees...oh crap. Sky soon found out that the battleground would be very dark, which would be hard battle circumstances. But nonetheless, she continued along with Cloud while both kept watchful eyes on each other.

A small Oddish had been running through the forest trying to run across the uneven path. Fear was all that it felt, and it gave an extra boots of adrenaline. If you looked at it closely, you could notice litte bite marks on him. He was panting seeing the forest whiz by him as he turned to look behind him.
Smack
<Ah!> he yelled, falling back as he hit Sky's leg hard. <H-huh?> he choked out getting up and looking confused as to why he stopped before looking up at Sky for a second before he froze at a voice. <Oh, try to run will you?> It was an Ekans. <You sssssssslimy pokemon....you ssssse, you are food, not fast food.> It said simply, dragging out it's 'S's and flickered it's tounge. I began to slide closer in small strides as the small Oddish began backing up. <D-do-don't come any c-c-loser!> it studdered out in fear. <Or what? This little trainer will sssssave you?> the Ekans laughed. <I'd like to ssssssssee that happen.> The small Oddish began to plea. <Ah! Help! Help! Help!> it yelled before running behind Cloud. <It's gonna eat me!> It shivered behind Cloud. The Ekans laughed again. <Come on you little wimp, take it like a man....>It hissed as it came closer.

The trees it seemed were all that Cloud saw, as he started noticing the denseness of it all. ...Actually, this could be quite intimidating under the right circumstances... Cloud thought to himself as he looked around. He liked how it could be interesting under battle circumstances, but even so, the forest was a huge blanket of trees. For instance, you look right, you see a tree, look left, a tree....and now he was contradicting himself. He liked it, and he didn't like it. It must be something in the trees to make me change my mind on it so much... Just then, Cloud darted his eyes over to a tree that he thought moved. He looked a bit closer at it by squinting: Maybe the forest could be more intimidating than I thought... But he shook his head and stood up straighter. <What do I have to be afraid of? I'm considerably strong, and I know new moves, and I'm level 13! Why am I thinking that this place is intimidating all of a sudden?> Cloud walked toward the tree and looked all around it, except for the dark hole in the center of it, which was way up higher than he was. Crap...how am I going to reach up there? He asked himself as he looked up. Thinking he was just paranoid, Cloud gave up and walked back toward Sky. As he leaned against one of Sky's legs, the Gible heard something...feet? He tried peering closer into the distant path before he saw some kind of dark silhouette running through. <Woah...What is that?> Cloud said to himself as he looked toward Sky, who appeared to be peering into the distance as well.
Sky tried looking into the distance to see what it was, but could only find that it was a Pokemon of some kind. I wonder why it's running like that-- BAM! Sky widened her eyes and shouted in surprise when she felt the dark figure hit her leg...hard. When Sky looked down, she saw that it was an Oddish...with bite marks of some sort all around itself. Sky widened her eyes and immediately felt sorry for the poor Pokemon. "Oh you poor thing...I've got to get you some medical help..." Sky started to say before she heard a hissing sound. And it seemed the Oddish was scared too, for she saw it almost freeze on the spot. When Sky looked toward where the Oddish's head was shivering, Sky immediately understood a possible fear: the hissing sound was an Ekans...and it didn't look like the most friendly type of personality there was. Sky didn't know what the Ekans was saying besides the hissing, but she knew that it didn't well when she saw the Oddish run behind Cloud. Sky widened her eyes and put her hands on her hips and glared at the Ekans. "You ought to be ashamed! What did this Oddish ever do to you?!" Sky looked toward Cloud and motioned him to go toward the Ekans. "Alright Cloud, Tackle it!"
Cloud was a bit surprised at first when he saw an Oddish running toward him and Sky, to be honest. He kind of thought it was a bit weird at first to see a beaten fear-ridden Oddish running behind him. Just then, Cloud saw an Ekans, which made him think of some times if or when the Ekans might've threatened the Oddish. This made Cloud clench the little fists in his arms. <That's not very nice!> Cloud glared and decided to charge for it, just as Sky ordered him to. He hoped that he'd hit the purple snake as he charged toward it. In the last battle, he only had Tackle and Sand Attack as a move, so he was pretty excited for the battle results this time around.

The Oddish drew closer to the humans leg as the Ekans grew ever nearer. Its long yellow tongue lfickered out between its fang filled mouth, its saliva hissed as it made contact with the ground. The Oddish furiously shook its head at the humans suggestion of medical help. <No medical help! Snake help PWEASE..> The Oddish begged, as it looked for somewhere high up to hide, somewhere the snake wouldn't dare try to climb up to. Somewhere it wouldn't be able to bite it without hurting its own mouth, or having to bite through her shielf first, she couldn't climb any trees he had no arms! Oh dear..oh dear...oh dear. Where to now?
The Ekans peered up at the human, and seemingly uninterested he let his eyes flicker down to the Oddish, when the golden orbs rested upon it he let out a hiss. And smirked, causing the Oddish to cower behind Sky's leg. It's voice was frightened as ti spoke: <Le--ave me alone!> The Ekans snorted at the thought. <Sssssuch a little babyss.> Then tilting his head he rolled his eyes. Humans always questioned the food chain, when they ate trees, and plants, and animals. yet Pokemon couldn't do the same. Prepostourous. <He decided to look delicccioussssss> It was true, the little quivering thing wold taste nice and refresing going down, like a clean drink of water after a trip through the desert, or a sprig of mint stuck under your tongue. He hadn't had anything to eat in a while ,hell the Gible looked delectable right now. It probably was, but the shell wasn't even worth prying off, there would liekyl be little meat inside. Like in a walnut.
Hearing the call for attack the Snake stood his ground. That little snout ting would feel pressured to do more then win soon enough. Opening his jaws he spit, hundreds of little spikes, glowing bright purple, and needle sharp, out of his wide open jaws. They were of course very poisonous, and with the amount he had spit he would be surprised if one got in this little babes eyes. He didn't know who he was messing with. It was obviou now that this Ekans was the winner of many fights, a few scars crossed his body, and the long scratches showing struggling around his jaws, indictacated where most of the losers ended up. Burning in the boiling acid in his belly as they slowly digested. Then the Ekans hoped to stop the Gible in his tracks, if the Poison Sting hadn't done that. Letting out a demonic noise much louder then a hiss, he narrowed his eyes, and seemed to grow i nsize, this was his leer. It was so close to being a glare Attack that many froze in the throes of it. That was always enjoyable. To see them shivering in their feet, or wings, or whatever they happened to be wearing at the time.
The Oddish quietly cheered on the Gible. Humans were bad, but at least the girl hadn't tried to eat him yet~! So she had to be better then that damnable Ekans!

Cloud widened his eyes. What were those needles?! He desperately tried to dodge, but to no avail. Unfortunately, he was hit, but one of those pricking his skin made him jump up to another place where he was safe from harm for now. Fortunately, he wasn't poisoned, but very close to being. The Leer that followed was also quite intimidating, but Cloud glared back, even though his defense fell a bit. It became striking to him that he was fighting no newbie in the fight, oh no. He was probably fighting an Ekans who has fought a lot in time, and he probably wasn't very low-leveled either. Cloud wasn't a coward though, so he was intending to face the Ekans. <Why are you being so mean in the first place?> Wondering if reason might work this time around, Cloud didn't see any harm in trying it out. It didn't work with the Zigzagoon, but there might be a small and possible chance that the Ekans liked to talk? Cloud doubted it, but what the heck? It was worth a try anyway considering that Cloud liked to reason. Cloud wanted to protect the poor Oddish anyway; it looked like it needed to get away from the meanness of the Ekans. <And how could so many needles come out of your mouth at one time?> Cloud had been wondering that as well since earlier, and he wanted to know how in the world it was possible. Cloud couldn't imagine himself trying to spit many needles out at one time. He'd probably cut his mouth or something, to be honest.
When Cloud heard the explanation of why the Ekans was attacking the Oddish, he stole a glance at the blue leafy thing. <What do you mean? He doesn't look edible to me; the leaves would get in the way, honestly. And besides, he looks like he has a nice personality.> Cloud reasoned again. He honestly thought the Oddish didn't look like it was eat-worthy. It was hard to imagine that one could possibly eat a Pokemon like that. There was too much that would get into his mouth, and then it would be tickling him. ...Not that he's ever eaten a Pokemon before. He was just trying to defend the Oddish. As for his attacks, he hoped that Sky wouldn't tell him to Tackle or use a Sand Attack; those were to old moves. He wanted to test some new moves or something now! He looked back at the Oddish, wondering again what made it look so delicious. There were already cut marks all over it, and it kind of made it look less delicious in his own opinion. All in all, Cloud just didn't want to eat other Pokemon. Maybe he could have some sympathy for being in the wild and the all-for-yourself thing, but an Oddish? Couldn't the Ekans go for a bug or something? Ah well, the only thing that mattered right now was to try and protect the Oddish and win the battle, hopefully. After all, the Ekans didn't look that weak...not weak at all.
Sky widened her eyes when she saw the Ekans perform a Poison Sting. She gave a sigh of relief when she found no traces of poisonness since Cloud seemed alright. That attack was deadly, and Sky knew it was. She looked back at the Oddish for a bit, feeling sorry for it. Sky had been bullied before once, though not physically. The poor Oddish probably didn't even deserve to be eaten. Even though Sky liked eating meat sometimes, this was certainly uncalled for. "Bring up a Sandstorm, Cloud!" Sky called out to Cloud, and seeing him comply when she saw sand rushing all about. She actually wasn't that prepared for all the whiplashing of sand, so she decided to climb a tree to try and see the battle from there. She could, and Sky could be in earshot at the same time. If she stayed there any longer, her eyes would probably be burning.

The ekans let out a hiss of victory as one of the poisoned needles smacked into the hard armor of the Gible. Going through, but not succeeding in poisoning him. There had been a very low chance of that anywayssss. The Ekan's golden eyes calmy stared at the Gible. He was used to his prey glaring back, but that didn't mean they would win. After all the poison worked its way into their systems eventaully. Whether it was trough biting, spikes, or spitting, it was his main goal to soften them up, then eat them. Not the other way around. <Meansss? I was not being meanss , I was jussst hungry.> The Ekans replied with a hiss. Unlike the Sentret he didn't mind tlaking to his pre, seing as he moved stealthily closer to the Gible as he did so, hopefully his eyes stayed on his mouth. While his tail was the real threat. It was a tactic commonly used by entertainers called , misdirection. At the next question the Ekans swelled up with pride. <Tose are fangs, and scales from inside my mouth, sped and m saliva turn them into deadly weapons.> Both of his eyes nw turned to the little Oddish, then he licked his chops. Before he began to slither his way back towards the Gible.
The Oddish screeched. Now the dragon was talking about eating him. Further shielding himself behin the girls leg he watched as the two conversed. NAd fought. Well it was mostly conversing now, but he knew the Ekans was planning something nasty for the gible. What he didn't know!
<Thats why you rip off the leaves, eat the body and then devour the leaves, they are quite spice.> At the speech about personality the ekans let out a hissing laugh. <Do you think I care!? Do you care what your brocolli acts like when you don't eat it sand licker?> He had seen a GIble before, and knew they were partial to sand, to throwing it at others anyway.
Then the Sandstorm hit. The Ekans was glad for his second layer of eyelids, these did't impair his vision like his purpe ones, but added a sand proof film to his big orb like eyes. Slithering trough the whirl of san,d he tried to ignore the slight pinches he felt everytime one of the grains stuck in between his scales. WHen he figured he was close to the Gible e reared back up, a smirk on his face, the Gible had likely thought, like most oppenents that he wuld be immobilized while the storm raged, he was going to learn otherwise. The snake then drove his entire body forward, like a whip, in a Bite attack, his jaws spread wide.
The Oddish had been left on the ground, and due to the sand couldn't tell if the Snake was coming back for him. H was scared, and sad that the human had forgotten he was down here, all by himself.

Cloud was weirded out by this fellow; the Ekans was ever so..."interesting". He was almost like a killer snake wasn't what he seemed; was he a cordial fighter? Probably not; he was probably just trying to make conversation...right? Cloud didn't know as he saw the purple Pokemon slither toward him. <Yeah! You were being mean! Look at all those bite marks you gave that poor Oddish! You call that just hungry?!> Cloud objected to what the Ekans called 'just hungry'. If he was 'just hungry', he would've already ate the poor thing, which wouldn't be a nice sight to see. The Oddish already looked as terrified as it could already be. When the Ekans started explaining what the flying needles were, Cloud was sickened a bit. <From....inside your mouth? Those are all from inside of your mouth somewhere....?......Oh god...> Why did he feel like throwing up? That's were poison came from?! Cloud widened his eyes and turned away from the Ekans for the time being; he didn't want to look at it in the present time right now. He definitely needed a moment. Inside his mouth?! Ugh; what does he eat?!?!?! Cloud couldn't imagine what he ate to keep the poisonous saliva going. Out of curiosity, Cloud turned around and dared to ask. <...What do you eat so much that it keeps your poison intact and...well, poisonous?> Cloud prepared himself for a possibly disgusting answer. If that Ekans said 'Oddishes', he wouldn't know what to think. Speaking of turning around, Cloud could barely see the Ekans now that the Sandstorm was going; of course, he wasn't affected, but he wondered whether the Ekans was.
Cloud winced once again at the sharp screech of the Oddish; he didn't want to eat that green thing! He was just objecting why he didn't! There was no reason to screech like that... <...How do you rip off the leaves? You lack arms...> Cloud examined the Ekans to find that his statement was true. It lacked arms to rip the leaves off. Now if he had said 'bite' it off, things would make more sense. But ripping? Was the Ekans even capable of such a thing? <Sand licker? Just because I can tolerate sand and you can't doesn't mean you should get so worked up.> One could tell that Cloud was more confident with himself, and that he thought of the Ekans different than he did the Zigzagoon. For instance, the Ekans freaked him out, and he made more sense than the Zigzagoon. <Brocolli? What's brocolli?> Cloud didn't know what that was. Was it a pokemon? Was it what the Ekans ate to make his poison like that? So many possibilities for one word...
<OOOOOOUUUUUUUCCCCCCH!> THAT HURT! Cloud widened his eyes as he yelped in pain. Did that thing clamp down on him?! That meant he underestimated the Ekans; he didn't think one without teeth could bite that hard. Now that he knew that clamping works also, Cloud became more watchful of his surroundings. And he thought to sandstorm would work! Well, Cloud wasn't affected by the Sandstorm since he started it, so he hoped that it would affect the Ekans. Unfortunately, in this attempt, it affected the Gible's sight a little, being that he overdid all the sand. What could he say? He didn't think there would be as much sand in the forest, but he obviously underestimated again.
Sky widened her eyes in shock for two things. One, Cloud's yelp, and two, the Oddish. To take care of her first job, Sky jumped down to where the Sandstorm was, covering her eyes as best as she could. She had to get that poor little Oddish; how could she have forgotten about it? As she tried looking through the sand, she decided to give another call of order while she searched. "Dragon Rage!" Sky called out before she got some sand in her mouth. She knew Cloud understood from the sound it made. She couldn't see it, as Sky was trying to find a little blue tree-like Pokemon in the process.

The ekans chuckled, or hissed haltingly, as Cloud questioned his previous answer. Shaking his head from side to side he laughed harder. <Haven't you ever played with your fooddssss Gible? Are you meansssss to it?> If the stupid babe wanted to talk childish then the Ekans would gladly oblige him, by replying with 'you do it too!' and his own questions twisted and thrown right back at him. The stupid little Gible wasn't the only one who could act naive. <Of coursssse , do you know nothinksss little sssandlicker?> After all things didn't just randomly generate, that was old timey thinking, not for the modern era. The Spikes had been aimed at him FROM his mouth, so why was the Gible so disguted to find out that was where they came from. Stopping his steady sliing forward as the dragon turned to speak to him the Ekans listened. <It'sssss a natural productions of my mouthsss> Hell if what he ate could generate poison his mouth would be so full, he wouldn't be able to eat. The poison helped dissolve food, it didnt need food to be made. <CUrioussss little thing aren't you?> The oddish was glad the Ekans was to busy engaging in conversation to pay any attention to his blue body shivering on the sidelines.
The Ekans rolled his eyes, this kid asked way to many questions, and tje answers were enough to distract him and allow him to slide closer, if he had desired he likely could have melted the Gible's face off. <You tear them off with your teeth, then eat them when you're done. You don't waste oddisshessss, they are barely enough to eat as it issss.> It was rather common sense when you thought about it. After all how else would you swallow the things whole, even with dislocating his jaws the leaves would tickle his nose. <I can tolerate ssssand, but I wouldn't eat it like your kind might.> From what he had heard really hungry desert dwellers devoured the sand around them. <A vegetabl--plant.> Of cours most trainer's pets ate those odd brown pellets, and little else. What else they did eat they likelyh ad no idea what it was, at least he could see his food, and supervise it for HIMSELF.
The Ekans let out a hiss, and yanked his teeth from the Gible, right before the sand thrashed into hi s body. Not only could he barely see the fat little dragon, now his scales were sticking together, and gapping open, making it hard for him to move, and easier to get past his armor and to the soft skin underneath the scales.
The oddish heard the sound of footsteps approaching, and fearing it was the ekans he started to whimper. Hopefully the quiet fearful noises would lure Sky to where he was huddled. His leaves drawn down over his eyes, and both of his blue eyes were closed, so as to miss any horrible fate that happened to be coming his way. The little blue plant type heard her call out a order, but in the sand everything was slightly distorted the farther away you got. To the Oddish it osunded as if she said 'Rage on Days' which made no sense.
The Ekans heard the order well enough, and knowing that he conly knew how high the attack would be he dropped flat to the ground. Bristling yellow fireballs zoomed high above his head, smashing into trees, where they sizzled out. The Ekans on the other hand picked himself up, undamaged, but he was tired of all this crawling about on the ground like some common earth worm. Seeing a shadow in the swirling sand he dove toward it, hoping to tackle, what he thought was the Gible to the ground. It was not the sand in his eys that ruined his aim, but the sand around him, there was enough of it whipping about to knock him slightly off course.
