The Caterpie hissed as his attack missed its intended target, the stupid Pidgey had stood up. As he felt talons gripped around his mid section he waited for a fatal bite, and closed his eyes. Then he felt himself slowly spinning. Then like a javelin in a battle he was flung away from the Pidgey, opening his eyes he let out a string of the sticky substance he naturally produced, and anchored himself to the Spearow. Hopefully his bulk would be enough to drag the pidgey to the ground, or pull him after him, at least until he snapped at the string. The Little green bug prayed to Arceus that it would work. He had to. His yellow eyes widened as the Pidgey took off in a tackle, just as his body hit the ground, and he rolled a few feet. Now his brilliant green exoskeleton was one dull shade of nasty sandy brown. Pushing himself from the ground, he jerked his head back, and almost vomited, the sky was spinning slowly above his head, or was it the ground, or was it everything in his body but his head?

Sandy ran forward in another jump tackle, so that he could avoid being tripped by the big worm again. When he drew closer to his target he gave a little flap and entered the air--his natural element anyway--and then came down hard where he thought the Caterpie would be. But since the Caterpie was rather dizzy he wasn't sure if it would stay put or not. Still, he had to try.
Randy watched as her Pidgey charged forward once again. She hoped they wouldn't rough up the little guy too much. He was looking more brown than green at present. She couldn't help but be worried about the little guy. But he was obviously a feisty one, so she brushed her concern aside.

The Caterpie had flet the pressure raise from him, and saw the descening shadow, throwing hi,sef to what he thougt was towards the bushy he ended up right in the middle of the path, staring at the Pidgeyy's back, which to him seemed like his face, with those white spots underneath the brown, he was bend over was all. Nothing odd about that. Shaking his head , the spinning began to slow, and then stopped, just as ardously slow as a ride at the carnival. Seeing a oppurtunity, he dashed forward in a tackle. His head lowered to hit te Pidgey, where he thought hi beak was, which was his right ankle.
Frankly all this crap was giving him a headache, it wasn't pounding yet, but it would be soon. Then he would likely be rather useless, and become bird food.

Upon being hit in his right ankle, the Pidgey let out a "oof!", and was forced to sit down hard suddenly. It just so happened to be right on top of the tackling Caterpie! Ugh! He could feel it wriggling about under him again! It was, frankly, a gross experience for Sandy; who then began to struggle in an attempt to get to his feet again, and off the dern worm! Didn't this bug know anything about personal space! Thought the annoyed Pidgey to himself.
Randy and Blaze were cheering Sandy on, but they couldn't help bursting out laughing--even though the little fire bird was still angry at the Caterpie--because the sight of Sandy sitting down hard on top of the Caterpie was just too much! They'd never seen anything like it before.

The Pidgey wasn't the only one grossed out. The Caterpie made loud sounds indictating disgust. He didn't like being sat on by the dirty little bird! Who knows what kind of bugs it had, and he wasn't talking about himself! The Caterpie arced his head back, and tried to ram it into the Pidgey's test, this bird needed to learn something about how rude it was to sit on others! Shooting a coil of string shot skyward, his head still arced he hoped it would land on the head of the Pidgey, so he could pull him to the ground.
This bird was a much lower level, he needed to learn his place, and his trainer and her little firebird needed to head back to route one, and leave him alone! Or the Pidgey needed to grow up, in levels. Not to mention he was rather mean! He hadn't tossed the bird yet, but if he didn't get off he'd have a headache worse then the Caterpie's. <Why don't ya guys just go away..and not set my home to ashes!?> What traier let a Torchic wander around, especialyl one as new to Ember as that one? In the forest? He seemed incline to burn anything that came in contact with him, a dangerous thing indeed.

Randy, realizing that things were getting out of hand, and that the Caterpie seemed to be a higher level than her Pidgey (who seemed to be getting the short end of the stick in this fight), she picked up Sandy's ball and said, "Sandy return!" Just as the Caterpie spat the silk thread skyward, only to have it pass through the dematerializing Pidgey.
After replacing the pokeball back on her belt, Randy strode over to the squashed Caterpie and picked him up with one hand while reaching for the handkerchief in her pocket with the other. She brushed off the Caterpie gently, while saying, "You're right. We aren't ready for this route yet. We'll come back when we are stronger. Then we can show you our true power. And, then maybe you'll let us pass in peace, little guardian of the forest."
So saying she put the caterpie back in the bush they'd found him in and headed back to Vhenkil town, and the Pokemon Center.
