Stepping onto the route, Vadse paused. This was it. Last chance to throw away this journey, to not waste more of his life. Or to go on, and hope he could make it to the end. Running wouldn't do anything for him. Rolling his eyes, he kept on walking; had he been in a movie, intense dramatic music would have been playing. Instead there was silence. Boring silence, not calm silence. His sweatshirt fluttered in a slight breeze, making his nearly-empty backpack shake. A dull thud echoed against it's firm supported sides. A pokeball, the one containing his new Ralsius. Right. So, was he supposed to let Zisler out, acclimate trainer pokemon together, or were they only supposed to interact during battles? Making a quick decision, he kept the weird, egotistic pokemon inside it's ball. He scanned the first few feet of the route for pokemon. Shrugging, he kept walking. He pulled the ball out and fingered it, then threw it messily back into his bag.

(You think that was museless..watch.) Seeing no pokemon with Vadse many of the natives of the route stayed out of their hidign places. Above a pidgey and a spearow glared at eachother from two different trees. Below them bush shook violentlly a broom shaped tail , striepd in brown and white sticking out every so often. Just over the tips of the grass two low leveled sentrets were visible. Their flexible tails rose them easily above the forest debris level. When their brown eyes reached Vadse they both fled.
A little ways off the path a rattata was curled sleeping. Her large block shaped head was resting n between her two paws. The rest of the pokemon had alreay fled, or were doing so.

Bushes rustled and leaves cracked as the pokemon left the area surrounding him. Vadse heard but paid no heed. He saw the Sentrets, but ignored them. If they would run from danger, then they were not a pokemon that would interest him. His eyes scanned the path before him. All he saw was a single Rattata, sleeping. But hey, it was a pokemon; it would be good practice for Zisler, at very least. He swung his backpack off of his right shoulder, yanked it open and tossed out Zisler's pokeball. He clenched his right hand into a fist and rotated the palm of his left hand to face his body. Using the back of his clenched fist, he hit his palm. Zisler, apparently, did not understand his silent attack signals. He cocked his head and twitched slightly. "... TACKLE." He clarified, using an over-exaggerated tone of annoyance. Zisler suddenly understood and ran at the sleeping rat with all the speed and strength he could muster.

(so sorry!) The Rattata opened his eyes slowly. The yawn growing in his throat evaporated as he saw Zisler running towards him, head lowered. As it is when one is first asleep it takes a while for something to tell you that you were not dreaming still. Of course the pain to his side as the tackle hit home was enough to tell him the truth of the matter. Staggering slowly to his feet he fixed the Ralsius with a red eyed glare. 'rat-tatttta!rat <I was just sleepin! How dare you attack me without just cause!?Savage.> (165/500 words)

((It's alright )) Zisler rammed into the Rattata's side, bounced off, and slid several feet. His reflexes weren't the best in the world. He shook his head and took a shaky step forward; his knees had locked when he had slid and, over the course of less than six seconds, they had become painfully swollen, as though they had almost been bent backwards. They hadn't, luckily, but they almost had - something Vadse would never recognize. Even if he had seen the pain his pokemon had inflicted upon himself, he probably would been mad at the pokemon sooner than be mad at himself for not training it properly. Either way, seeing that his hand signals wouldn't be quite as effective as he had originally planned, he rolled his eyes and gave a verbal command instead.
Tackle it again before it attacks you. NOW.
Vadse yelled, for his pokemon and the Rattata were somewhat far away; he wanted to give Zisler no opportunity to pretend that he had not heard the order. Zisler ignored his trainer for the time being. He wasn't a complete boneheaded-jerk like his trainer. Not yet, anyway. And he liked talking - especially hearing himself talk.
<'Cause he told me to. Duh.>
Zisler replied, beckoning towards Vadse. Maybe he was a jerk after all. Without wasting another moment, he ran at the Rattata once more, finally following Vadse's orders. Which was most definitely a good thing, as Vadse's face had been turning red at the sight of his new Ralsius ignoring him and setting up what seemed, to him, to be a tea-party sort of conversation with his opponent.

<Why you listening to him then ?> The Rattata said as it lurched to its feet. this one was of a level lower the Zisler, but that didn't make him easy to beat. He had been attacked for no reason, and now the pokemon that had decided to hit him was being sarcastic? That didn't go over well with this Rattata. He worked hard, and was usually kind to everyone, but this babe was really pushing his buttons, and needed a good lesson to be taught.
Although the human's face was comical , he didn't need to pay attention to the ugly thing. It distracted him. Anchoring his feet shakily into the ground he pushed up allowing the Ralsius to sail by. Hitting the ground he pivoted on his back paws and rushed towards the Ralsius, in his own weaker tackle. of course he went for one of his legs, and tried to be mindful of his own oppenents speed. He had seen many strong R1 pokemon loose to a newbie because they had one stat outdone, and became cocky.

Zisler had not anticipated missing anymore than he had anticipated the Rattata's return attack or the pokemon's speed. He was not yet the best at judging levels; that was not something the professor had taught them at the laboratory. However, to him, it seemed as though his new-found purplish-pink four-legged rat friend was more experienced that he, himself was. Undoubtedly he - she? - had been in more battles, but to the maiden battler, the Rattata seemed to have a higher level as well. He was shocked by the speed of his opponent and stiffed like a Stantler in headlights, and was hit head-on, though in the chest, not the legs. Vadse cursed under his breath. First his pokemon chatted during a battle, then he got hit seemingly willingly.
<'Cause. Professor Mahogany trained us all to obey our trainers and help them out. He was nice, so I'm nice. I'm obeying. But trainer's not nice, so I don't help. Get it?> Zisler stated, as he ran at the Rattata in yet another Tackle attack after Vadse opened his mouth to tell him to do just that, but Zisler ran before his trainer's words reached his ears. Regardless, both trainer and Pokemon wanted to hit the Rattata. Zisler wasn't friends with Vadse and they had not yet bonded, but the urging to win required no friendship.
((By the way, I'm using 'maiden' as they do in the racing world... Either one who hasn't won or one who hasn't fought/raced yet ^^ Not as a girl.))

<If he told you to jump off a cliff would ya do it?> Judging by what he had just said of course he would. The Rattata sat down on its haunches directly after the tackle. Shaking its wedge-shaped purple head to clear the light headedness building up inside, and the steady throbbing pain behind his eyes. That thing had a hard body! Now it had went and given him a headache. To busy moaning over his aching head to worry about the Ralsius the Rattata didn't even notice the attack. Until is red eyes flickered up at a sound that is, and he was smashed into, right in is aching skull. The attack sent him rolling down the path, sitting up he growled long and low.
Then he charged forward again.Ears flat against his head, and tail lowered. Now he was pissed. <This is uncalled for! b] It truly was. Was a napping pokemon truly that much of a threat? Or was this cowardly trainer looking for a Pokemon who posed no threat? A lower-leveled opponent? One only a coward would try to take out. More then likely. Well this bastard was about courtesy, and the age old principle about not judging a Pokemon by its size. No doubt if he found a stronger Pokemon this Ralsius would be put out on the Bunsen burner and left to evaporate away.Forgotten about.
Well the human hadn't ordered the attack. So it wasn't his fault. That was the only reason he hadn't began attacking that pest of a human. head lowered he continued his charge, stopping halfway there and changing direction so he now came at the Ralsius from the left side. On his other side was rock, and a few evenly spaced trees. Of course if the Ralsius noticed that rock could easily be used to his advantage. (OOC:Start counting up your words.
