Bill leaned forward in his chair, watching as the knob turned and the door opened. Finally. It had taken weeks for someone to be stupid enough to not obey the order on the sign. It was there for a reaosn, not just because Bill found it infinitely more rude then not saying please. They might have one of the fenced pokemon in here, the insane or aggressive ones. Ones that might take great offense to being startled and snap at the first person to walk in this door. Besides in Bill's eyes you saw some things you wished you hadn't if you just walked into people's homes whenever you wanted.
This rude ltitle fellow had to learn about it. Maybe he just had missed the sign, or was not a new trainer, regardless Bill didn't care. "Boy whoever told you its polite to walk into a room without permission needs their head examined." The Alakazam then stood up, both of his eyes glowing blue, and then he let the bucket filled with water tilt over the boys head, it had been there for awhile seeing as James had forbd him to hang any other child from the ceiling. They had to clean up whatever mess they made when he was done spinning them about. Not that he minded they all learned their lessons. "What if we had been healing a vicious pokemon, or cleaning the floor with that bucket." And a mop of course, humans usually used those, Bill preferred to use humans.
The Alakazam's voice was as droney as usual. No emotion showed through, not even the raging annoyance that screamed inside his head. The Alakazam had currently steeped his hands together and had moved back to his chair, where he had sat down, shifting for his tail. His long snouted head was resting on his hands. The satisfying sound of water dripping met his ears, as he dropped the metal pail with a clang. Hopefully the boy hadb een to slow to move out of the way, and had received a impromptu shower for it. Just a ltitle something to teach him a lesson. Not what he would have liked, bu ti was all james would allow.
"Read the warning signs." They are usually there for a reason after all. Whether its the owners preference, or defense against lawsuits even the stupidest caution has some sort of importan, and justifiable purpose. That sign was for both reasons. "The Professor should be out in a minute." James.... The voice of the Alakazam managed to find the professor, who looked up from his work outside. [/blockquote]

He said, starring at the water, as it spilled on the floor. And I didn't see a warning sign. He said, clumsily. If there was, then I'm sorry for budging in like this. He apologized. At least he had wiped his feet and closed the door. Lakota stood where he was and waited, he hoped that this would be done soon enough and that he could get his Pokemon before his parents confined him to the house. He had remembered every thing that was necessary, but had left home his medicine, and didn't care. He didn't think that a bunch of pills could do much anyways, and he knew that too.[/ul]

Bill said nothing about the retort, preferring to glare as the boy remained dry. Now he had to mop the floor, for nothing~ Well they tried to tell him what to do. THe professor was only listened to about half of the time, and the bucket of water had been his idea, well he had given Bill permission to use it, when he was in the middle of a nap, with the headcold Bill had just passed on to him. "Its on the door, in plan sight." The Alakazam answered. Offering up nothing more then a grunt at the apology, then he picked a discared paper up from his desk, and went back to reading. Ignoring Lakota.
The Alakazam looked up as the sound of a cane hitting the floor wafted down from the hallway. Not that James had ever needed it, it was one of the things he thought made a fellow look distinguished and most of all sophisticated. Not to mention wiser, of course his glasses did most of that, which were only vital when he was reading a science book on pokemon. The professor appeared in the room a few minutes later. As usual he was dressed in his brown suit with the green vest, and lighter green tie around his weathered neck.
"Yes Bil--OH hello there young sir!" The Professor began to inquire only to stop halfway through his ALkazxam's name and fix his eyes on the boy. A smile cracked across his face, or a larger one then he had walked in with. It was then that he noticed a odd gleam on the floor, even the little natural light let in by the shuttered windows allowed him to see that much. "I do apologize if Bill was t all inhospitable--" Not that he was ever anything but. In fact the professor had never heard of anyone who liked Bill's rudeness, or his callousness with new trainers. A few parents had yelled at him, but Bill was out of his control. [/blockquote]

He thought, looking at Bill with a serious face. He returned the glare quickly, then straitened up as he heard foot steps. Lakota smiled as he saw the Professor, and shook his head. Not at all. He said. I'm here for my Pokemon. He said. He thought about getting Croagunk, but was unsure of whether or not the Professor had it. Lakota followed the Professor's gaze to the floor, where the puddle of water sat. He looked back at the Professor. The water on the floor is really my fault. I moved out of the way, so if you like, I'll clean it up for you. He said. {{Sorry. My muse has gone away ....}}[/ul]

Not at all? Well the Professor very much doubted that. If the boy didn't mind, then there was no reason to pretend to be angry at Bill. The professor nodded at the second part of the question. "That I know. Do you have any ideas?" In other words was there any pokemon on the list he wanted, oh if he had neglected to see the sign, then the poster with the choices had likely escaped his notice as well. Oh well. Gave him something to spark a conversation with. The Professor pushed his glasses up his nose and glanced outside, resisting the urge to sigh. Such a wonderful day to start a journey, or be outside, maybe he'd move his things out later so he could work and bask in the sun.
"No its alright. Bill can clean it up." Not that he would do it this instant. So the professor had to be sure not to slip before the Alakazam had cleaned it up, that would start a little argument about how senile the professor was getting. He really didn't need that. Going to stand behind the pillars he cast a glance at the paper Bill was holding, which he knew was being used as a veil to hide the expression on his face, and a muzzle for whatever noise he had made. "Oh how rude--call me James."
--Bill--
So the lad was to frightened to tell the professor that Bill had been offensive. Coward. At the words "bill..and can clean that up.". The Alakazam let out a snort. There he went again, trying to be as friendly as possible. Being friendly didn't help prepare them for their journey, not everyone they met was a nice person after all. "Later." The Alakazam cut in after the 'up'. Suggesting that he would do it when he felt was right, and give the boy a chance to slip on his ass on the way out. [/blockquote]

He said. When the Professor told him to use his first name, Lakota nodded, eyes closed, and said Alright, James. He said. I do insist on cleaning up the mess though. It was my fault for not seeing the sign and moving away from it. He said. Bill was obviously being rude to him, but that didn't mean that he had to be rude about it. He looked over at Bill, thinking how strong he must be, but looked away and back to the Professor. Lakota realized how he hadn't told James his name and said Oh, and my name is Lakota. Sorry. He said with a small laugh.[/ul]

"Croagunks can likely be found on the Swamp route--even if it's not documented." The Professor said, trying his best to comfort the boys disappointment, there was nothing wrong with a strong native Remoor pokemon after all. Walking back towards the pillar rimmed in orange the professor seemed to disappear for a moment, a cane rolling to a stop at his desk on the other side of the room. Peeking his head up over the pillar the professor tried his best to dismiss any worry by waving his had. Then he tried to pull himself up, his back creaking as he did so. On the ground beside him was a backpack, which he was sure hadn't been there when he had walked in. The pillar had rocked, but he had still managed to grab a pokeball from the floor, which he gently tossed at Lakota.
"But-" "The boy did insist James." Bill interuppted cutting any protest his dear friend had against the boy mopping the floor. after all it was completely andu tterly his fault enough had been spilt that the sun flickering through the slats in the windows couldn't dry it. "Broom closets down the hallway, in the storage room." Well he wasn't to grab him a mop was he? Bill didn't fancy grabbing anything physically, psychically he didn't mind as much. To manny germs to actually touch anything but work. "Lakota, if you still insist you can drop the pokeball on the pack here on your way to the broom closet."

Lakota? Such a odd name. Oh well nothing different about another one of the hundred new trainers he had seen over the years having a very odd name. Of course the first impression for both he and Bill was that this lad didn't care , in fact, it seemed that reading the sign had been solely a accident.

Remoor Pokedex. 5 x Pokeballs. 3 x Potions. 1 x Antidote. 1 x Awakening. 1 x Paralyze heal. 1 x Burn Heal. 10 x Berry. Lakota nodded and, putting the PokeBall into the pack, hurried over to the broom closet, grabbing the mop from the closet and moping up the water before anyone had slipped and fell. When he was finished, he took the broom back to the closet. He looked at the pack and asked So why did I put the PokeBall into the pack? He asked.

"It would have been hard to hold it while cleaning fool boy." The Alakazam chided, looking up to the heavens for guidance. Why were most humans so dense? James was trained well, he was usually the first to spot the solution. Of course he had to use a calculator to figure out many of the things Bill could calculate in the blink of a eye. Not to mention his mind didn't grow dusty and make simple mistakes after a while. In fact it only grew stronger, unlike those humans who stopped using them after a certain age.
"f you want to make it to the next town before night falls, I suggest you leave." James opened his mouth to protest. Only to realize that what Bill had said was true. This route was shortest by far, but dangerous after the sun set. Not because of the pokmeon, but because of the thieves that hunted te paths, new trainers had almost all of their money after all. Not to mention they weere very weak, and easy to mug. It was living off the riches, but the police only didn't catch these 'noob-hunters' way after the sun had fallen. Being there after dark was bad. "If you are hungry though, you can relax for a little while ,and eat, and leave tomorrow, get acquantied with your new fri--oh have you named him yet?" Both James and Bill knew that the Professor just wanted company, but he was stallng the boy if he didn't stay.
The professor looked at his watch and grinned. Dinner time. For the baby pokemon, they went right to sleep afterwards, and gave their surrogate 'parents' no trouble. Leaving them time to read, if no one had visited, if someone had they had a long string of paperwork to run their way through, and James took care of mosto f that, describing temeprment of the new trainer was ot something Bill would do well.

Lakota turned around at the Alakazam's foul comment and hissed at him, giving the Psychic Pokemon a sharp glare. Making sure the Alakazam would get the message, he thought You don't have to be so rude about it. I do have pockets after all. He thought and whipped his head back around to look at James, but waited as Bill continued, looking out of the corner of his eye. If you want to make it to the next town before night falls, I suggest you leave. Bill said. Lakota nodded, picking up the bag. He grabbed the Poke Ball out of it and stared at it for a while. He was smiling down on it. Maybe, I'll just let it out of the Poke Ball. he said, making the Pokemon come out. A white light shinned out of the Pokemon, and appeared as the Grista that Lakota had just gotten. Finally, he had a Pokemon, someone that he could spend time with, instead of staying far from his parents, so that they would not hurt him. Lakota knealed down and said Hello. My name is Lakota, and I'm your new trainer. He gently reached out and pet the Grista on the head. Grista made a happy rumble noise deep in his throat of happiness and pride that he thought his trainer would be strong. He knew that Lakota would be. Thanks Lakota! I'm sure that you'll be great as a Trainer! He barked. If you are hungry though, you can relax for a little while ,and eat, and leave tomorrow, get acquainted with your new fri--oh have you named him yet? Lakota heard James say. Lakota looked from Grista, to James, and back. What do you want to do? He asked Grista. Of coarse, he would not want to be rude and not listen to his Pokemon. He was going to put him first. Do you want to stay and do you want a nickname? He asked. He did not want Grista to be mad if he had done something that Grista would not have wanted to happen. Grista barked happily, saying exactly Let us stay. I will be worried about you. And I like my name, if you do. He sat down, wagging his red orange tail as he sat down and grinned happily at him. Lakota smiled back and, with a sigh, said I guess we will stay the night, but I promise that we wont be long. We promise. First thing tomorrow we will leave, after cleaning up after our selves after all. He said with a smile.[/ul]

Oh yes--most humans have those damn things. Not that it makes a difference to you being a fool. Bill's voice echoed back. Not through his snout as usual but into the boys mind. Of course his gaze was directed at the ceiling, and his face showed no sign of the cruel comment he had just made. In fact his face hadn't changed at all, it seemed to take more effort for him to talk from his mouth then it did to emit thoughts through the air. Watching the boy nod, he sighed. The pokeball being opened would only waste time in which he couldl eave, and if he stayed guess who got to sleep on the couch!? Well it wasn't going to be him this time.
Not that Grista. That fellow annoys me. Bill thought to himself, not projecting it out this time. Most trainers would like the open, friendly personality of this fellow. To him it was like having one to many Jame's running about the house, well technically it was a lab. <If you like wimps, who are disrespectful to their elders then sure he'll be a great trainer for you.> Of course most of the pokemon here considered either Bill or the Professor father and mother. Only the babes of course, the others were vicious, or employees.
The Professor listened to the two converse. The human seemed to know what the Grista wanted, even if he couldn;'t understand him. At least he listened, most just expected pokemon to like whatever their trainers did. Like they were some kind of robots. That wasn't always the case. In fact he had met quite a few pokemon who had murdered their trainers, most had been executed, but if they found that the pokemon had just cause for acting out, they were sent to one of the special sanctuaries, one of which was in their very backyard.
"You btter clean up after yourselves. I do not have the word maid stamped on my forehead, or MOM!" With a sigh the Alakazam pushed himself away from the desk, shook his head and sat back down. "BEL! Can you push the cot out into the hallway so I--" At this the Alakazam smiled at the boy. "Our new friend can drag it into the main room?" There was the sound of scraping, and soon a folded hammock appeared in the hallway. A deep voice rang out: "Bill your lucky I don't grab your lazy as--tail and drag you in here." the only reason the boy needed to do it was to gain some arm strength, but Bill needn't treat him so horridly.
The Venusaur was too tired to do anything about it though.
"After breakfast." James added, and then, he bent down and retreived his cane. Half skipping to the kitchen. It would be nice to eat with someone besides Bill for once. Belair ate at night, when everyone else had fallen asleep. The venusaur was a creature of the night after all. Which was why he slept all day. [/blockquote]

Lakota ignored the comment and turned away from the Pokemon. He couldn't stand Bill at the time and Grista gave a growl at Bill, letting the other know that he was going to protect his Trainer at any cost. You better clean up after yourselves. I do not have the word maid stamped on my forehead, or MOM!Lakota gasped at the comment and looked at him with a hateful expression. I'll let you know, that my mother And my father had disowned me when I was thirteen! I have always looked after my self!BEL! Can you push the cot out into the hallway so I-- He watched as Bill called out to someone else, whoever that would be. Our new friend can drag it into the main room?Lakota glared at him once again and walked to the hallway, taking a good hold of the cot and dragged it out into the main room. He folded it out and set his bag down on it. Grista jumped up on the cot, hoping to eat soon as well, he was hungry, even though it had only been an hour or two after he had eaten. After breakfast. James had added. Lakota turned around and looked at him. He nodded and sat down on the Cot, stretching as he did so. He was tired and as he looked down at Grista, he could see the Fire Pokemon yawn. He smiled at this and looked back up at James. Alright, if you insist. He replied.[/ul]

Bill said nothing to the outburst. The kid needed to watch his temper, before he had it doused. At the counter the Professor glanced at Bill, who had rlayed that comment to him, and then looked dejectedly out the window. On the stove a pot was already boiling. "You are not lactoseintolerant right lad?" He called back, the smile on his face was downturned slightly. Of course he picked it up a few seconds later. It had been a while since he had gone shopping, children wouldn't stop pestering him for rare pokemon when he did. So most of what they had in the fridge, was cheese products, and in the cabinet a few boxes of other things. Already on the counter was the Grista's bowl, along with a giant vat for every other baby pokemon.
Leaving the boiling water on the stove the Professor strode out to the backyard, there was a click as he opened the back door, he slid the bowl under a flap in the gate, ignoring the howls, and roars that pushed against him like a wave of anger, he walked back into the kitchen. TO find that Bill had already set the Grista's food and that of his other trainer candidate pokemon on the floor. The professor would have to let them out though. Bill couldn't see them and he wasn't leaving his desk unsupervised so some grubby boys hands could mess with his organized papers.
When the boy had went to get the cot, one big red eye had peered at him, keenly. It was the eye of someone with wisdom, if not a fair amount of grouchiness. For a Venusaur Belair was extremely thin. Of course it wasn't due to sickness, he was just built small.
"i do." The Professor stated simply, earning a roll of the eyes from Bill. Now that he had remembered the boiling water the Professor dashed back to the kitchen leaving half of the pokeballs unopened. The rare ones would have to be fed tmorrow, otherwise the boy would sk why he hadn't received one of those. "So are you ready to go on your journey, by yourself?" Well the right answer was he wasn't by himself, but it was nice to document his personality.

James said from the Kitchen. Lakota got up from the Cot and walked into the Kitchen, Grista laying on the Cot. As he reached the Kitchen, he said No, I'm not.Grista's ears perked up as he watched Bill bring in his bowl. He lifted his head from the Cot and jumped down from the small bed like object. He dug his face into the bowl, licking his jaws when he lifted his head. He barked happily and Lakota watched him from the Kitchen with a smile on his face, his gray eyes soft as he looked on. When James came back in, Lakota listened as he said So are you ready to go on your journey, by yourself?Lakota nodded. You have no idea. I have waited so long to get away from my parents. He said, looking down. His smile was now a small one, instead of the size it had been toward Grista. His thoughts were in another place. A place of being disowned, hated, and mistreated. He snapped his head up and was suddenly back to reality. He looked over to the Professor, watching him. Lakota had to frown. Would you like some help? He asked.[/ul]
