After going to the Pokemon Center and getting a map from the Professor (though Bill had put on with his usual fussing), Randy and Blaze walked with Deidra and Son over to the latter pair's house.
After a rousing lunch, during which Randy ate voraciously, not leaving much room for conversation. They all sat in the living room with their Pokemon. Although, it must be admitted, that Randy did not let Medi out of his ball; she knew he could bother others with his attitude, and she didn't want to make a scene (she'd let him out around others when they'd had a chance to train some) at her new friend's home.
"...So that's when we arrived back in town and met you." Finished Randy, explaining what had transpired on her journey in Remoor so far.

"Ah. So she wasn't found by a wandering Ranger this time." Diedra's mother spoke from her end of the couch, flashing a tired smile in the way of Randy. Most of the time her daughter was drug home by a smiling Ranger or a Police Officer. Many who had becoem used to having dinner at the family's house weekly, mostly because that was how often Diedra was lost. Enven though it was a nice idea, she doubted the little container with the map rolled up inside would help her daughter very much, she would probably turn it upside down, and always end up turned around in the middle of the 'Plains'. Of course her husband ha d been lost whe nshe had met him.
Diedra stared down at the small map in wonder. She also had a compass installed in her back pocket, something a police officer had lent her a long time ago. Not that it had helped to hav it without a map. "Blazey ya feelign better!?" She crowed to the small torchic. Reaching out her hand to pet him. Her yellow eyes glanced sideways to see her father highfiving his Minun, and OSn. No doubt it had to do with todays victory in battle. Her dad aways said she won due to his training skills.

"Tor!" Said Blaze. Indeed, he felt much better now that he'd been to the Pokemon Center. 'Fit-as-a-Fiddle' in fact.
Randy pulled out her Pokedex, and scanned the Plusle and Minun. "Say, have you trained your Pokemon a lot? I was wondering if they were at Blaze's level. If so we could battle before I head for the Plains again!" Said Randy, excitedly.
"Also," she added, "I was wondering if Deidra would like to accompany us to the next town. I mean, since we'll be traveling the same way."

The Sunkern nodded, glad that the little feathered pokemon was alright. It was in this moment that he realized something. This torchic didn;t look like some of the others he had seen. Of course he didn;t look similiar to most other sunkerns, but something about this Torchic struck him as very off. Of course only having seen the few at the lab he couldnt pinpoint it. So for now there was n questioning. <Blaze..have I introducted you to Subt?> The shade wearing Minun on the table raised his glasses, and nodded at his name. Sparks arce through the metal rims of the glasses causing the lense itself to light up, and spark.
Sitting on the couch Diedra realized that introductions were being made all around. That was of course if the pointing and chirping was introductions. Pointing to the fidgety Plusle on the couch she sighed. The Plusle looked down at he,r red eyes suspicious of the sighing. "Ths is Addit" The name was only a letter longer then Subt's. Yet Diedra herself was partial to Subt, the Plusle was much to fidgety, and a bit of a neat freak, much like her mother. So the same preference for male to female applied to the pokemon her house kept as well.
Diedra's dad shrugged.Completely ignoring the second question, which he would leave to his wide "While Add and Sub might be to much of a match for your Torchic, but we do have somethings he could train with." Outside their was basically a small training field, with timed tracks fr speed, and moving, element resistance disks to improve accuracy. Nothing to dangerous really. Well for any visitors that came over. They didn't get to play with the shock timers, and the water tanks. Of course the family of Diedra loved their pokemon, and would never harm them.
"I don--well mayeb the first town. Just to see if she would make it." The housewife had changed her answer rather quickly when her husband had stared sidelong at her, and smiled. Thus h]is wife turned to butter and listened to him. Morel ikely she ddn't want a argument later, which was sure to come if she refused her daughter the right to leave.

<Hi! Subt, Addit.> said Blaze cheerfully to the electric bunnies. After looking at the field of stuff to train with his eyes bugged a little, he'd never seen such equipment before--only the Lab's equipment and it was very different from this stuff. <This is where you guys train?> he querried, pointing with his right, unyellowed, wing.
"Great!" Said Randy, glad to have Deidra's company for a little while longer, "then she can try her hand at the contest center there!" After seeing the field with training equipment she realized that this was how Deidra and her Son had gotten so strong. "So, would it be alright if we trained here for the rest of the day, and then spent the night? I'd rather not impose upon you, but I must admit a fondness for your cooking--it's really that good!"

<Yepp. Sure is.> The Minun chirped up . The little blue accented ouse had snuck up and was now standing against Randy, his sister Addit behind him. WHile Minun was more then happy to brag the highstrung Plusle didn't answer the question. Instead, as was in her highsturng nature she ran out onto the pakced dirt of the training field, and began frantically pulling and prodding on equipments.Tightening and loosening where she knew her trainer would see fit. Son had turned towards Blaze, adn then it hi him in the face like a slap from a wet fish. This little Torchic was missing the yellow markings on one of his wings! Thats what had made him look unbalanced. At least he now knew he had both of hsi wings, the Minun had seen this all earlier as had the busybody Plusle. Neither had figured it important enough to mention it.
"As for the contest center--I really don't know." Then again if her Sunkern lost then she'd lose heart and continue to stay at home for a little while. When the girl asked to stay the nighteven the mom had to let a smile spreadd across her face, followed by a blossom of blush. "I do not see why not." Thee praise was more then enough to show this gir lwas polite enough to say in there housre, and mroe down to earth then her happy cheerful daughter Diedra.

"Thanks!" Said Randy. She decided it was better to discuss Deidra's contest plans at a later time, preferably alone (when her parents weren't around). Now was to be a time of Action! A chance to train on some good equipment! How exciting, she thought.
Blaze was excited too.
Randy and Blaze tried their hand at the speed training machine first. The treadmill-like ramp was large enough to accomidate a trainer as well as the training Pokemon so both Randy and Blaze could run together. Randy had to run a little more slowly so the shorter Torchic could keep up [100 words]; but there was a definite improvement in his speed by the end of their time on the speed machine.
Then they went to the accuracy machine. It was a kind of "shooting gallery" except that there were only two kinds of symbols on the four pads to hit (Left and Right). Randy and Blaze used the machine together because this machine was useful to both in their accuracy, due to the fact that Randy had to anticipate the machine's rythmns in calling out which pad Blaze should hit next. Blaze would score "points" on a nearby meter when he hit [200 words] the right pad. The right pad was the one which would "attack" (or run at) him next. Randy would watch the pads and guess which would come forward next, Blaze would use his scratch attcks on the four pads.
They took a snack break. They rested for about an hour or so, and Deidra's mom brought some cookies for them to share, while lounging in some deck chairs specificially designed for comfort.
Then Randy and Blaze practiced his Growl attack for awhile. Deidra gave some pointers on how to make the growling more cute, while still maintaining a high effectiveness.
Then it was time for dinner, so they broke off training for the day and all headed back into the house.

Son had spent the entire time trying to dodge gentle jumps from Diedra's fathers minun. The little fellow was fast, and would grab onto the leafy stalko n Son's head to represent a hit. Eventaully though Son learned how to wave his body out of the way of the reaching paws, and hit back with a tackle at the same time. <Nice job Son. Of course you would have lost by the time you learned to do that in a actual battle.> The Minun was above level thirty and could very well speak the tongue of humans, his original tongue had always been his favorite to speak.
Diedra walked into the house, one arm around her new friends shoulder, and the other around her fathers neck. Her mom had already nipped off to the ktichen and sounds of laughing could be heard from the kitchn of course if the father of the 3 person family had walked in and seen the mess his organized wife and Plusle were making in the kitchne his eyes would have fallen out of hia head. Then he promptly would have joined in, and had a blast while doing it.
A cloud of flour flowed from the kictchen door, hinting at what was going on inside. Of course the things already inside the oven smelled delicious, and had Diedra drooling. She was still hungry after all! Lunch had been soooo long ago. In the living room the noise from the TV could still be heard, ti was obvious it was the news. Mostly due to the fact that they said it very loudly everytime they went to commercial. 'Thank you for watching this segment of PRRCN' Then that segment turned into 5 or 6 others that made up the entire news network. The reporters mostly wore wigs, and the weatherman had a Castform beside him, one who became the weather he announced on the map when asked to.

After dinner (which was a feast fit for a king, stated Randy) they watched a segment of Prof. Oak's Pokemon Poetry show, then it was off to bed. Randy was glad to actually sleep in a bed for a change of pace. Blaze didn't really mind either way, as long as he got to sleep beside Randy, but he had to admit there was something to be said for a soft bed with actual sheets and stuff.
The next morning, after a large breakfast of hotcakes and sausage, Deidra and Randy set off for the plains. They waved good-bye to Deidra's parents and their Pokemon, and then they both skipped merrily down the road until they were out of sight of the town, when Randy fell back into just plain walking (Deidra is so full of energy, Randy thought) as she couldn't keep up anymore.
