Linzee woke up to the annoyingly loud sound of a flock of Pidgey trying to sing the dawn chorus. She sat up in her tent, which was set up on the outskirts of Barkwish Town, and pulled a small mirror out of her bag so she could fix her hair.
"Grawr, damn bedhead." She muttered, pulling her brush through the tangled red hair. She put some lip gloss on, too, then got up and managed to get dressed in the small tent. She was pretty decent at that task, having camped with her best friend, Abby, every summer for several years. She glanced at her watch, and sighed as she realized she had plenty of time before she was expected at the lab. Too much time, she personally thought.
"Yeah, but early's better, right?" She asked herself, stabbing a contact into her eye and flinching as she realized her eye was closer than she had thought. "Ouch!"
The flock of Pidgey sang louder, and Linzee sighed. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a bottle of headache pills, and took two. She would most likely need them if this was what the whole day was going to be like. Do Pidgey ever shut up?
She pulled her bag out of the tent after her, and straightened up, stretching. "Right, well, here we go." She said, taking the tent down hastily and leaving it in the bushes to collect later. If she remembered, that was.
She set off through town, gaining speed as she went, excited to finally be getting her starter. When she got to the front door, she was out of breath, but that didn't bother her. She was here, at least. Checking her watch, she realized she was also about fifteen minutes early.
"Ah, well." She muttered to herself, and knocked on the door.

The professor laid the cup of coffee he had been drinking on the desk with a quiet 'sploosh'. In a quick rethinking move he moved a coaster and slid it under the steaming cup of tan joe. Bill unlike the professor drank his black, the professor wouldn't have been surprised if Bill drank the grind instead of the coffee. Or for that matter eating the coffee tin!
Turning to open the door he sighed as it seemed to swing open on its own. Well he'd be the first to welcome the newcomer, she was one of the few who actually still made appointments. "Welcome to the Pokemon Lab Linzee." So, no the professor wasn't psychic like Bill he just happened to remeber her name, and fifteen minutes or not she was the only person scheduled before 2:00 PM. Most trainers just came at random intervals, without any prior preparations.
Bill meanwhile leaned back in his chair, and waved ha;fheartedly. The professor had taken away his fun! Not to mention she had knocked! So no more ceiling hangups for Bill till at least 2:00PM in the afternoon. Of course the trainers were possibly wanred about his tendencis to attack if you had muddy shoes or didn't knock.
The professor smiled and turned around, realizing it was about breakfast time, and unles she had ran it was unlikely she had eaten yet. The professor wanted breakffast. "Are you hungry?" James asked, hoping she'd say she was. It was lonely only eaiting breakfast with the Alakazam and Belair, the Alakazam complaied about everything, and Belair said nothing at all.
Behind the Desk Bill was hastily scribbling something down, a letter to the publisher of the latest Pokepedia, one that complained about various mispellings of words that took up almost a entire page. Picky Bill was, and it was unlikely that was going to change anytime soon.

Linzee wiped her feet off on the mat, having heard that Bill was...not the friendliest, and she wasn't about to tick him off before she got her starter.
"Hi Professor!" She replied, smiling, "Yeah, I'm starving." She blushed, slightly, realizing that was probably one of the worst things she could have said. She wasn't a pig, but it was early...
She walked slowly over to the table, her gaze taking everything in as she sat down. Her left arm was, as usual, tucked against her side, but it wasn't exactly noticeable unless you were looking for that tendancy.
"So...Which starters are available?" She asked, reaching for an empty cup and pouring herself some coffee. Hey, he had invited her to have breakfast. She poured some creamer and sugar into it, and stirred it. She might be only fifteen, but she loved coffee as long as it was sweetened enough. "I'm so excited. I'm sure you hear that a lot, though."
Linzee stopped talking, her mind floating to thoughts about what her starter might possibly be. She would love a fire-type, but she wasn't going to be picky. Torchic was pretty adorable, though. And she knew for a fact that she could get a Torchic...
She absently reached for a slice of toast, and munched on it while considering another option; Chikorita. The little grass-type would make a good addition to her team, but Linzee wasn't exactly sure she liked how...naive they looked. 'Course, most of the starters did, but Chikorita looked way too innocent for Linzee's taste. Then there was Totodile, but she had heard that you risked a lot of bite wounds, and she didn't feel like trying to explain that teeth were not meant to be sunk into human flesh.
"Right, then, I'm ready to choose my starter. Just...can I hear the full list of which I can choose from?" She said, finishing her piece of toast and wiping her hands on her jeans.

"Well help yourself. I do always make to much food." Belair only ate once a day, and if he became really hungry all the pokemon food was stored in his backroom. Most of it though didn't fit the cultured taste of the Venusaur, who only liked the best of the best, in anything but especially when it came to dinner and bedding.
The professor watched the girl munch on the various breakfast items. Reaching towards the table he snatched a piece of toast from the hard top and very slowly munched on it. Pausing ever so often to take a drink from his coffee.
Of course to Bill, who needed most of his mind to not sound rude in this letter perceived the sound of chewing as similiar to that of jackhammers. Gritting his teeth he ignored it and went on with his feverish writing.
Looking at the paper filled front adn back he nodded, saisfied with his wonderful work.
Hearing the girl's question he pondered for a moment before nodding. Weoll the startrs needed some love too. "Well we have Totodile, Chikorita, grista, Ralsius, Selibulb, and Torchic for you to choose from." This list was becoming rather boring, lately all the trainers had known about the rare pokemon or shown enough potential to take one of them off his hands. It was sad really, how many of them had been acting?

Linzee nodded, thinking over the choices. She wasn't too sure about the Grista, Ralsius, or Selibulb, as she hadn't read very much about them. So her choices were still between Chikorita, Totodile, and Torchic to choose from.
Her fingers twitched slightly as she thought about holding a pokeball containing a small bird-like creature, full of the warm flames that transfixed her.
"Right, I've decided." Linzee said, finishing a second piece of toast and brushing the crumbs discreetly onto the floor.
She looked up at the professor and smiled widely, "I want Torchic."
Her pyro side was purring in content.

"Alright Linzee dear." The professor said grabbing one of the pokeballs off the fire pillar and slowly walking closer to the table, before laying it near Linzee's right hand. Nodding he turne around to grab the pack to be forced to watch as it lazily drifted down onto the table top itself, to te left of the plate of toast. The small table groaned in protest. "Bill a warning would be nice." The professor muttered drawing nothing but a grunt from the psychic type. Which meant to say' I am not ncie am I, although now you do not have to get it.' Well maybe it didn't say that much but the professor knew exactly wat Bill meant. Linzee hand shot out, closing around the pokeball that was warm with the firey spirit of the life inside. Her face shone, like the sun coming out of the clouds, and she hugged pokeball to her chest. She held the ball out, pressing the button twice with her thumb, releasing the small bird-like creature in a beam of red light.
"Torrr." It chirped, tilting it's head to the side.
"Ahh! Hi there!" She called out, reaching down to rub it's chest with on finger. It closed it's eyes and let out a contented noise.
"Thanks so much Professor!" Linzee called out, scooping her Torchic into her arms and hurrying out the door to start her journey.

"You are very welcome." He just hoped he had no reports of burnt down buildings for a couple of days. that Torchic was known to have a firy(spelt wrong on purpose)personality for more then its tenacious spirit. Hopefully it didn't cause to much damage.
"James. Finished." Bill snapped drawing the professor out of his visions of burnt down buildings and into a stack of paperwork, and proofreading. Of course as usual the Alakazam's paper was mistake free. Yet he still felt obliged to check. It was his pokemon after all, and surprisingly enough it had no rude comments embedded into its two page long depths. Odd for Bill. (there short VERY SHORT)
