The Pidgey chuckled as the human opened his mouth. He wouldn't dare..Willow will have his head.. Then he felt teeth clamp down on the very tip of his feather, and he sucked in his breath expecting pain, but only felt a slight pressure. Well that and the urge to laugh--the ridges in theh uman's teeth had sent the nerves on his feathers into overdrive, and in effect the boy was tickling him. At the comment the Pidgey growled playfully, deep in his throat. <Oh--I'll be ocunting on it..you villain you!> The bird cooed, seeming to smile.
The Boy jsut had to laugh huh? Leaning forward the Spearow reached out with his beak, and attempted to rap the boy on the nose. Then he leaned back, setting on Willow's arm.
The Spearow slowly looked up at Miro--listening as he tried to rectify the situation. It seemed he was still hurt, but he did nod. The boy was forgiven it seemed. <Though I was not the one who laughed--and needs to calm down.> The little flying type mumbled, turning around, and snuggling into WIllow's shoulder. This was one was much more a showhog then his fun/mischeif loving buddy the Pidgey. Which was odd--them bing buddies--it was well known that t he two species seldom got along.
Willow looked up from her position on the ground as Miro questioned her. "Yah. I know you or at least your pokemon want one..how about a double?" How would she manage a double battle you may ask? The girl smiled. "SOn and Geist against your Tyrogue and Sandshrew." Whistling the girl called both pokemon to her side, the Dia paused momentarily and whispered back to Tyrogue.
<That you did..no need to clean your ears out. Nice to meet you Sandshrew> Then he chuckled, and as he took to the air above Willow he jibed at the little yellow shrew: <You just grabbed Tyrogue out of shock..sure dear.>
"What do you say?" The girl questioned, the Sunkern, and Dia both floating in the air above her orange clothed shoulders.

Miro smiled at both the pidgey and spearow. The two could possibly be mistaken as brothers if the two were the same pokemon species. A spearow and pidgey did share the same appearance, though, and some rookie trainers did make mistakes from a spearow to a pidgey, or the other way. Miro patted the two on the head lightly and then turned his attention back to Willow.
"Well, I can already tell you that Tyrogue has been yearning for some action now, but if you haven't noticed yet, Sandshrew isn't really the type for violence. He's still pretty young and shy. But if he agrees with it, I guess we can battle." Miro said all in one breathe. He took a deep breathe in and then walked over to his two pokemon companions. He bended down on his knees to get his face level with theirs', then said, "Ok you two. Willow asked us if we'd like to go in a double battle--you wanna give it a go?"
Tyrogue immediately said yes, shaking his fists around in excitement. Sandshrew on the other hand back off from Miro a little. He wasn't so sure about the battle. He wasn't a real good pokemon when it came to attacking and he wasn't real strong, but not wanting to let Tyrogue down, he accepted the battle. <That's it, Sandshrew! Don't worry, we can totally beat them!> Tyrogue said, trying to put some enthusiasm into Sandshrew, but it didn't work. Miro stood back up and walked over to Willow with his pokemon following behind him.
"I'm not positive that we'll win, considering the difference between our pokemon, but we could always use the practice." Miro said, smiling. "And I do need to work on my double battling." he added, hinting off that he wasn't the best at double battling. He took a few steps back to create space between him and Willow. This would be the battlefield. "You may go first," Miro said, being polite. Sandshrew and Tyrogue walked in front of Miro, standing beside each other, ready for the battle.

"Oh I know about the poro Sandshrew, and it's obvious that your Tyrogue is up for it. Sandy dear--feel free to refuse." If he did then no doubt one of the flying types on her hand would gladly take the little fellow's place. After all it wasn't off one got to beat on a elder stronger friend without many consquences. The girl then watched as Miro walked over to his pokemon, informing them of the situation. It seemed he was encouraging them--rather then discouraging them. Which was good--if he wanted to be his trainer then he had to learn how to battle. It was obvious the Tyrogue was ready, waving his fists about--obviously excited. The Sandshrew on the other hand, well it took him a few minutes. But it seemed he agreed, Miro knelt down to give a well pep talk?
Willow was still sitting on the ground as the boy returned, and kissing both birds who were roosting on her arm she sent them away with a deft flick of her wrist. It seemed she didn't mind battling on her bum. The other two strolled across the field--and she soon found herself being ecnouraged to go first. "If you insist--Ready?" The two ppokemon npdded. "Giest use sand attack, and So--wll its kind of obvious--Tyrogue first."
The big black bird pulled his wings back, and bought them forward in a scooping motion. Dirt flew towaed the other combatants, making ith ard to see for a few seconds. Which is all the time the Sunkern needed. Diving into the cloud he directexd his attack toward the blur he hoped was the Tyrogue--he really needed to work on his differentiaiting skills while flying through sand. Stopping a few feet in front of the Tyrogue he took a deep breath--trying to absorb his energy. It wouldn't work to well on the Sandshrew.

"Are you gonna just sit on the ground?" Miro asked Willow. He himself was standing up. It made more sense to stand up during a battle so that you could move around more easier and see things clearer, but if she wanted to, he guessed it was ok for her to sit down for the battle. Miro watched as the pidgey and spearow flew off, away from the battlefield. Then the dia and sunkern had come to Willow's side, ready for the double battle.
Tyrogue was completely burning with fierceness and a will to fight and punch things. Unlike him though, Sandshrew still wasn't all too happy and excited as Tyrogue about this battle, but he really did need the training and braveness. If he was to be a strong pokemon one day, then he would have to train hard and become brave, the opposite of his shy and cautious self. <Alright, here we go...> Sandshrew said, unsure of himself. <Yeah! Let's get this party started!> Tyrogue cheered with his eyes flaring with fire.
Miro heard Willow make her commands to Giest, but she hadn't said anything for Son, except to go after Tyrogue. Miro couldn't really tell Tyrogue to do anything except run, since the sand had hidden the pokemon inside. Miro tried to see through, but he could barley see dark figures moving around. One especially small one that was jumping over to another figure that was running around in circles.
Considering the difference between Tyrogue and Sandshrew's personalities, Miro was quite positive that the one running in circles was obviously Sandshrew. He was probably freaked out by the sudden attack and panicked now that he couldn't really see and was separated from Tyrogue.
Inside the sand, Sandshrew was doing exactly what Miro thought-- running around in panic. He then heard someone coming up from behind him, hoping that it was Tyrogue, but unfortunately, it wasn't. Instead, it was Son, his battling enemy. For some reason, the little flower pokemon was sucking his life, or at least, attempting to. For some reason, the attack didn't have much effect on him. In fact, it didn't hurt at all!
<Um... can I help you?> Sandshrew asked Son, stopping his insane running. All of a sudden, Tyrogue came out of nowhere and, with his fist glowing white, was preparing himself to punch Son with his mach punch. <Take this, evil flower of darkness!> Tyrogue said. Maybe it was possible that he was getting a little over his head for the battle.

"I find it much easier to concentrate when my legs aren't cramping from standing for a long time." Willow explained simply, a small smile present on her features. Both of her hands were folded in her lap. The girl's legs were curled under her body, her feet at a Right angle to her hips--this odd posture was used to prevent Miro from receiving a free show. After all she didn't want him to receive the wrong idea. But the mellow yellow skirt was worth any discomfort that she earned from sitting in it.
The Sunkern nodded: <Yep Sandy! You Ready?> Well of course the little guy was ready--he had agreed to the battle, and what preparation was needed? <Oh Yes. LET'S GO!!> The Sunkern chuckled, shaking his head at the Tyrogue's bravado, the little guy had enough of it to supply everyone on the field, including the trainers. The Dia said nothing during all this--and let all the prebattle words be exchanged between the youngsters.
The Sunkern blinked: <I was trying to use absorb on you...but...> It didn't seem to work. With a sigh he turned only to have a glowing fist smack into his abdomen. <Evil..plant..? Hhehe..what kind of taunt is that?> Then the pain kicked in and the plant type let out a squeal. The cry of "KERN!" was heard by his trainer. The shadows told Willow enough of what was going on to call out: "Geist quick attack, the Tyrogue..Thankies!" The Dia dove into the now clearing cloud of sand, his black form a quick moving blur as he zigzagged through the field, coming into a position behind the fighting the, he surged forward, hoping to take the other Pokemon to the ground with him.
The Sunkern had taken the time to move away, and diving forward it landed in front of the Sandshrew. His face was bruised, and sore, taking in a deep breath he began to remedy the problem. Once again he tried to use Absorb on the Sandshrew even if he only obtained a little bit of health for his troubles, that would help his face return to its former beauty.

Sandshrew looked curiously at Son. Absorb? What the heck was that? Apparently, Sandshrew would need to learn more about attacks, too. After Tyrogue had appeared out of nowhere and hit Son in the face, Sandshrew squealed. He didn't think it'd get this violent! He scurried around, trying to figure out what to do. If the sand would vanish, then Miro could see what the heck was going on between the battle and order him to do something, unlike Tyrogue who went with immediate attacks.
<How'd you like that attack?> Tyrogue said, smirking proudly. He didn't hear Willow command Geist to attack him, nor did he notice the black bird swoop in and come straight at him. Sandshrew could see more clearly now that the sand was beginning to disappear. His partner, Tyrogue was standing a few feet away from him and Geist was tackling him into the air. He called out his name and then felt a draining feeling again like earlier. He looked down to see a small yellow and brown-striped pokemon with bruises on his face.
<Son... are you trying to, um... absorb me again?> Sandshrew asked the plant pokemon. It was quite obvious, actually. What else could he have possibly been doing? Knowing that he wasn't supposed to allow himself to get attacked by, Sandshrew backed off a bit, away from Son. He looked up at his trainer, Miro, and asked him, <What to I do?>
Miro guessed that Sandshrew didn't know just exactly what he should do so, Miro told the yellow mouse to use his 'scratch' attack on Son's face, to worsen the damage since that was where Tyrogue had hit him. "Don't be scared, Sandshrew." Miro comforted him. "Just do as I say,"
Sandshrew had been in battle before, even though it didn't seem like that, but it was always with Tyrogue. He was never in any real danger, but this battle didn't seem dangerous either. Sandshrew raised his paw and swiped it as hard as he could at Son's face, hoping to hit him.
Meanwhile, Tyrogue wasn't having an easier battle than Sandshrew was. He himself was a fighting-type and Geist was a flying type, which was a bad combination. Tyrogue was at a disadvantage and Geist, the advantage. Well, only if he knew any flying moves, at least. If he didn't, then Tyrogue could relax a bit more. The quick attack had sent him flying off the ground and hitting a tree. He quickly got back up, feeling at the pain on his body.
<Ha, is that all you got? Too easy...> Tyrogue said, trying to act tough and brave. Building up his own strength, he created his mach punch again and ran at the black bird pokemon, trying to hit him in the head, or stomach.

The Sunkern saw the confusion on the sandshrew's face, and opened his mouth to explain. Of course that soon turned into a yelp as a fist pounded into the middle of his face. So the Sandshrew would likely stay confused. But mayhaps that was a good thing?
<Oh dear Ty I didn't. It kind of hurt.> The Sunkern rumbled, shaking his head slowly. Then he tilted his head up and winked at the swooping Dia. At least he was pretty sure he was looking at the bird. Otherwise that was a big ass black Butterfree. Glad that the bird was helping he went over to the Sandshrew.
------Present---
The Dia screeched in triumph as he bore the Tyrogue skyward, lashing out with his wing and beak he hoped to add more injuries to the first. Swooping away he dove toward the Sandshrew, his quick attack once again his weapon. The blur his body made was much more visible then last time, seeing as the sand no longer obscured it.
<Yes...> The Sunkern groaned, shaking his head as the Sandshrew backed away. Which in its own way was a good thing, it saved him from a hit. The Dia chose that time to swoop, and instead of hitting the Sandshrew found his large wings buffeting nothing but air. Shaking his head Geist began climb upward. This caused him to take the Scratch Attack instead of Son.
Faltering slightly he turned back toward the Sandshrew. Shook his head and climbed higher.
The Sunkern gasped in pain, then drifting forward took a deep breath, and tried to absorb the little ground rodent's health once again. His face throbbed and all he had to make it go away was a little ground type, after all he wasn't going to get close enough to absorb Tyrogue's health.
Willow chuckled at sandshrew. "Don't be afraid Sandy--Son won't begrudge you a hit, and neither will Geist. Speaking of which--don't leave that Tyrogue unattended keep him busy." Smiling she turned her head skyward, she didn't really have the attention span for battle. The outdoors were much to pretty to focus on violence.
The Dia obeyed the order, and flew back toward the tree hugging Tyrogue. <Not really...I was going easy on you.> The bird knew a tough guy ACT when he saw one. The Dia was still in the air, and as the Tyrogue charged blindly forward, he easily took himself out of the Tyrogue's reach with a flap of his wings. Diving down he attempted a Quick attack on the Fighting-Type once again.

Sandshrew felt his paw hit something, but didn't know exactly what. He had his eyes closed the whole time he was trying to scratch Son, but it didn't feel anything like a sunkern. In fact, it was feathers that Sandshrew felt on his palm. He opened his eyes immediately once he hit something, trying to see what exactly he had hit. It was the dia, Geist! Geist wasn't what Sandshrew was supposed to hit, but at least he hit one of them.
"Good shot, Sandshrew!" Miro cheered on, happy that Sandshrew's scratch made a successful hit. He noticed that Willow seemed to be paying more attention to nature then the battle, but maybe this would give him a chance to take a few hits without her noticing. If she wasn't paying attention to the battle, then she couldn't order what her pokemon should do.
Again, Sandshrew felt a tiny bit of his energy being sucked from out of him. No doubt it was Son, trying to use absorb again. Sandshrew didn't hear Miro say any command, but he knew that scratch would probably have been a good thing to do right now. So, without waiting for an order from his trainer, which he usually didn't do, he swiped his paw at Son, trying at another scratch attack. This time, he had his eyes opened and focused only on Son's face.
<Sorry,> Sandshrew thought.
<Come on after me, you big bird!> Tyrogue taunted, seeing Geist fly over to him. But instead of an attack, Geist gave a Tyrogue a hug. Tyrogue squirmed through the hug.
<Aw, crap... Tyrogue thought, lamely. <My attack missed.> "Dodge" Tyrogue suddenly heard Miro yell. Tyrogue looked up and saw Geist come down him with his quick attack, which was usually unavoidable. Tyrogue quickly tried to move out of the black bird's way, but wasn't fast enough. He was hit again, but this time, instead of struggling to get away from Geist, he prepared his mach punch and tried to hit his head since it was so close to him.

"Yah Good shot Sandy." Willow said with a chuckle, frankly she was glad that the Dia had been hit instead of her little plant type. In all truth she had not been looking at the battle at the time--but was only mirroring whzat Miro had said with her compliment. The only reason she knew it was Geist hit and not sun, was the sheer lack of squeals from the seed shaped Pokemon. In all reality Son was quite the drama queen, and any hit no matter how little cuased him to rave and screech. So no noise--the attack had missed. Nodding she allowed her eyes to drift skyward again, imagining what the clouds thought about all the humans looking up at them.
The Sunkern turned sideways, allowing the attack to glance his side. After all he wanted to keep his beautiful face intact. A bead of blood rolled down his sides and he yelped: <Owch! Watch where ya stick those claws Sandy--that hurt!> The Sunkern then bobbed away from the Sandshrew, gulping in air, and allowing himselg to think.
Frank;y he needed health wouldn't it be better to bother Ty?
But it seemed his trainer gave no such order. So he settled for using his other attack, taking a deep breath he seemed to swell in size, and glowed a bright green. Instantly he felt more powerful--no doubt the absorb would work better know, and by the mshed mess of his face that was a very good thing.
Taking a deep breath he drifted back into the battle, and attempted t use absorb, he could feel that it had more pwoer--but could little Sandy?
The Bird was clunked in the head by the fist, but thankfully due to the lack of room between the two the attack lacked much of its power. Hopping back a few paces the bird took to the air again. Circling abovwe in the air he began to worry the Tyrogue, this fellow was highl eveled, if he could wear him down a bit then the battle would be easier. Diving down he pretended he was going to tacklee the flying type, but pulled up at the last minute. The bird continued to do this at various angles, always wheeling away at the end. Hopefully te Tyrogue was paranoid enough to wonder "is this the one?" and dodge. If not the bird was the one being tired out.

Sandshrew, or "Sandy", panicked when he saw the blood roll down Son's face. Was that supposed to happen? When he and Tyrogue were in sparring battles, neither of them ever bleed, but then again, they usually only ended up with a few scars and scratches. This was Sandshrew's fist experience to blood being exposed to the air in a battle, all caused from a single scratch. Had he really injure Son badly?
<It doesn't hurt that much, does it...?> Sandshrew asked the little pokemon. It was polite to ask and he didn't want to be rude. But then Son, out of so many past tries, tried to absorb Sandshrew again. Why did he keep trying if it kept failing? Should he really bother with wasting his own strength on such a useless move against Sandshrew? But this time it felt slightly different. Unlike the last few tries, this one felt a bit powerful than the last, and it really did feel like energy was being sucked from Sandshrew's body.
Sandshrew bounced away from Son before he could take any more, even though it wasn't as much as the last few tries, it still did take away some of his energy which would be enough to clear up some of the scratches on Son's face. Sandshrew looked over at his trainer for an order, hoping that it wouldn't be scratch. If it was, he'd probably have Son bleeding even more!
"Sandshrew, use your defense curl, followed by a scratch attack," Miro said. Sandshrew sighed and did as he was told. He curled himself in a little ball, a shimmering sphere covering him as he did. He then uncurled himself and slowly ran at Son with his claws ready to scratch him, hopefully this time it wouldn't have him bleeding.
"Tyrogue, don't let him trick you-- use bulk up and focus on Geist." Miro commanded his fighting-type pokemon. Tyrogue nodded and obeyed the commands, breathing in and out heavily once. After the breathe he took in, he felt more stronger and his body more defensive. He had his eyes concentrate on the black bird, whenever it moved and wherever it went.
When the bird pokemon came swooping down at Tyrogue to try and confuse him, he had his fist glowing white, and then aimed at Geist. He ran at the pokemon before it went too high in the air and away from Tyrogue's length. He jumped in the air and then pounded his right fist at Geist, hoping that the attack would hit and do more damage since after he used bulk up.
