Every journey has troubles and obstacles don’t they? And it seemed her problems had started the moment she left the safe surroundings of the laboratory. Okay, perhaps the Alakazam named bill was slightly disturbing with his rude behavior but the professor was nice wasn’t he? He actually gave her one of his rare Pokémon as a starter! Still that was all in the past. Now she was standing there, on the doorsteps of the laboratory a few seconds after the huge spoon wielding Psychic Pokémon closed to door behind her with his powers. So this was it… The beginning of her adventure was to say it in one word… Cold…
A cold wind breeze blown over the girl her cheeks and soon made her body shiver slightly. Wearing spring clothes in the autumn season was not really a smart choice, as learned now. Why was it already autumn, and perhaps even already on the brink of reaching winter? Well perhaps it was because the trees she saw nearby had been totally abandoned by any leaf, making only huge wooden branches shake silently in the cold wind. The girl had only recently left behind the large building while she started walking along the old path so many already traveled. To say the truth it was a pleasant experience, walking in this kind of nature. All around her a long, wide and beautiful grass field spread as far as her eyes could reach, with occasionally a leafless tree filling the scenery. It looked pretty peaceful to tell the truth. The girl took a deep breath, extending her arms into the air to get away the cramped feeling she experience from sitting down so long. Her Pokéball, no longer resting in her hands was now attached to a small black belt above her skirt, the small red and white colored ball of her Pokémon inside it.
“So this would be the place where everything begins? The place where our first battles with start..”
Slowly the girl continued walking on the road, the peace and silence making her mind feel relaxed. It was only when the Laboratory was out of sight that the girl tugged the Pokéball from her belt, pressed the button and with a graceful toss thrown it into the air where it had burst open with a bright flash. Curiously the little Elephant Pokémon appeared in front of her, looking with a expression of confusion and anticipation. The girl had bended forwards slightly, looking toward the little Phanpy as she started speaking in a warm and gentle tone like she usually did.
“Hey there Aarde, I thought it might had been a good idea for us both to explore the route together, so let’s go shall we?”
The little Phapy nodded softly at the girl her words. To say the truth he had still needed to get used to the name Aarde. It was a name of unknown origin and all he understood was that it meant something like the ground they lived in. Well he liked playing with dirt and such so perhaps having the name that meant earth or ground wouldn’t have been so bad. Listening to the command of his new trainer the little Phanpy was about to turn around and walk ahead of her when he suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist, pulling him upwards in a warm embrance.
“Phan, Phany?”
“There’s no need to walk, I can carry you for a while~”
The little Phanpy felt slightly confused when the girl snuggled him closely to her chest. Why did that girl thought he was adorable and cute when he wanted to be strong? Still the soft and warm embrace of the girl was something he found enjoyable, so he allowed himself to be hugged. Slowly the pair of them walked along the road, until they reached a nearby tree where the girl suddenly stopped and while resting her back against the wooden surface, sat down at the base of the tree. It was strange how the bark of the tree could still feel pretty warm, even when the wind was so cold. She gently placed the little Phanpy on her lap as she closed her eyes and whispered softly.
“Let us take a little nap Aarde, just so that we can enjoy the peace.”
The little Phanpy nodded softly at his trainer her words. He gently nestled himself into a good position before he had fallen asleep, his trainer soon to follow. This had happened a few hours ago, and so far nothing had disturbed the peaceful sleep of the girl. It was when it turned around midday that the girl woke up again, the bright sunlight shining into her eyes.”
Mmm? It’s already so late?”
The girl was about to lower her head toward her lap to wake up the little Phapy when she suddenly felt its long nose poking against the tip of her nose. The Phanpy seemed to had been overly cheerful from taking a little nap. Moving her hand toward her mouth she covered a small lazy yawn that escaped while she lifted the little one from her lap, and placed him on the ground. It was no longer time to sleep, now it was time for actions. Being someone new to the subject of being a Pokémon trainer, or coordinator depending on what path she would follow, she had yet to learn how to catch her first Pokémon. Certainly she known the main things about catching a Pokémon, but the hardest task was to be done first. Finding it… The girl stood up, extending her arms in the air to get back some feeling inside them as she started speaking.
“Let us find a good Pokémon shall we Aarde?”
The little Phanpy nodded slightly as he looked around in search of any wild Pokémon, a action his trainer soon followed since she started to look around also. What should she get? She had read this route was famous for its poison and flying Pokémon. That sounded pretty neat. Perhaps she could get a Pidgey, or a Spearow for a flying type or maybe a Meowth for a normal type? Still what about a Ekans or a Nidoran? Those would both evolve into impressive fighters when they grown stronger. But the first question was what kind of Pokémon would she find?
