Kain was walking along the roads of Isabella plains after departing from the company of Natalie. He let Layla walk around with him as he progressed down the route. He decided to go Pokemon hunting to add more power to his team. He ran down a hill and began searching. He let Layla go one way and him to go the other. He began searching through a couple of bushes but all he found were some berries which he put in his bag. He began looking through the bushes once more and ended up with an egg falling down on his head and getting covered in yolk. He looked up and saw that the nest was tipping over. Kain began climbing the tree to save the remaining egg.
Meanwhile, Layla was searching a different way. She was using Confusion on an array of possible Pokemon hideouts to fish them out. When she couldn't find any, she retorted to using Ice Punch on the ground and everything around her but no luck. She then went back to Kain.
Kain had managed to get the egg out of the nest. It was a black colored egg with white speckles. He placed the nest down and then waited for Layla to come back. He saw her coming up to him with a sad look on her face telling him that she had no luck, but that didn't stop them. They waited by the pokemon nest for the parent to return and claim the egg. They waited until that happened.

Above a female Spearow stiffened, the sound of her eggs cracking seemed to echo to the very core of her being. Letting out a shriek of rage she turned around and began to hurry towards her humbl home, which was nestled in the high branches of a hornbeam. Even if the eggs were not of the flying type she had been watching them for a friend. Seeing the culprit; who was easy to spot by the oak running down his head she hissed. <Egg killer.> In the eyes of pokemon, that was the same as murderingg a child; a human infant. Seeing as he was currently climbing up the tree, and stealing the other egg she had the wrong idea. The little Spearow wagered that the human was trying to eat whatever lay inside.
<Wretched human!> Then closing her wings flush along her body she dropped like torpedo. Her aim: the human. The aim of this action: To hurt. After all if she didn't save the egg now, the human was only going to eat it later. She ignored the pokemn around him for the most part, except she did yell out a few curses at them. Helping a egg killer--they are worse then the human! The young Spearow's mind echoed.

Kain was just standing there when he saw a pokemon flying towards him. He thought that it was the mother but the colours of the egg just didn't match up. As the pokemon drew closer he could tell that it was a Spearow and it didn't look very happy. It see,med to be drawing closer. This was his chance for a flying type pokemon to join his team and he wasn't about to stop just because the pokemon was angry. He called Layla over to attack who was meditating in the corner at the time.
Layla had ran over to Kain at his call and prepared herself for battle. Sure she was at a disadvantage being a fighting type but with Ice punch and Thunder punch in her arsenal she could even the playing field. "Layla, use Thunder punch once it comes in range" shouted Kain. Layla simply began meditating and punched her fists together, but once they made contact static energy began surging through them. Her fists began glowing gold woth power before she leaped up into the air and directed her punch at the pokemon.

The bird watched as the treachourous Meditite not only ignored the stealing of the egg, but leapt up at the humans call. <YOU ARE DESPICABLE!> The female Spearow hissed, shaking her head as she flew. It truly was despicable for a pokemon like her to protect a baby eating human like the one in front of her. Then her eyes widened as the human called out a order, she knew what a thunderstorm did to a bird; she had seen the barbequed ones fall from the sky. She didn't want to find out what a thunderPUNCH did; especially first hand. So as the fist curved toward her she flapepd her wings ,easily evading it, then dove straight down at the Meditite, then when she figured she had pobably hit, she went after the human. <LEAVE THE EGG ALONE!!>

After her heard the words "Leave that egg alone" he knew there was a misunderstanding. The Spearow thought that he was going to steal the little pokemon egg, not help it. He neede a way to get the message across but after a Meditite throws a potentially fatal punch at a bird pokrmon there was no going back. The only thing he could think of was to catch it which was what he intended on doing in the first place. He then gave Layla another command while she was still in the air, "Dodge and use Thunder Punch again!" he shouted. Layla dodged the pokemon's attack with ease and then homed in on it with another Thunder Punch aiming for the pokemon's face. The electricity was crackling like mad as it began flowing through her arm as she closed in on the Spearow.

The Spearow had headed right towards the thunderpunch this time. With a hiss she opened her beak, and clamped down. Trembling wildly as the sparks ravaged her body. For th mst part it looked as if you could see clean to her bones; the punch was like some kind of painful XRAY procedure. Realizing she had mised her target horrible, she rammed her head forward and tried to clamp down on the Meditie's hand again. Blackened feathers fell in droves to the ground as she struggled to do so. Hoping she had hit she drove above the Meditite, and went after Kain again. Cackling all kinds of horrid insults at him as he did so. <EGG KILLeR--BASTARD--ASSHOLE--MURDERER> The closeer she approached the more obvious the yolk streaming down his face became; further increasing her fury. The insults grew in volume, and the breast fethers of red seemed to grow as dark as her gaze

Layla hit the Spearow with her thunder punch causing quite a lot of damage but the spearow bit her in the process. Her hand was bleeding slightly when she looked at it. She landed smoothley on the ground while holding her wounded fist. She then saw the Spearow heading towards Kain who was paralyzed as the bird homed in on him. She couldn't wait for orders and went after it with an ice punch using her other hand that was now glistening with the icy energy as she homed in on the Spearow, hoping for a hit to save Kain.

The Spearow hissed at the treachourous Meditite; flapped her wings and arced up. Looping around; so part of the arc left her on her back she dove toward the Meditite in a tackle, her body becoming one big brown nad red blur. It was obvious she was just a bit tired, all this fast rate flapping and flitting made her tired; she was used to sitting on a nest. Not flying about in the sky like some pokemon circus performer. Yet nothing was going to stop her from showing the human that he was wrong. Maybe he's daft--he just stands there when I try to hit him. Which was good; it meant the egg remained unharmed, but at the same time meant he still had it. Frankly she knew she was outmatched with the Meditite but she HAD to take down the human.

Layla dodged the Spearow's attack but only by a mere milimetre. Layla was getting pretty tired from battling but couldn't let this Spearow harm her trainer. J.J. finally got out of his dazed look and remembered the egg. It was pretty badly scratched and needed to be taken to a pokemon centre. He had to either catch, or defeat the Spearow. He duidn't like the idea of defeating the pokemon and leving it at the mercy of other pokemon so that left catching it. He wrapped the egg up in a warm blanket before turning back to the battle. "Layla, use ice punch again and try and make a hit" shouted Kain vigorously. Layla ran straight for the Spearow at lightning speed and delivered a powerful Ice Punch, hoping for it to make contact.

The Spearow hissed as the dazed look disappeared from the face of the human; she had lost her chance! With a whistle of desperation she hastily flew towards the human; and slashed around where his face should of been. Then like a hailstorm the chips from the Meditites frozen fist raiend down on her feathered skull. Realizing a hit was on the way, the Spearow pumped her quickly forward, and clapped them together, sending up a billow of sand, and propelling her inside the arc of the Ice punch. She could feel the thin coating of snowdust now coating; and dusting her red breath, and breathed a sigh of relief. Of course she was also reveling in her clsoe proximity to the Meditite. Turning quickly; by pivoting her wings, she drove her body upwards towards the white onion shaped head of the Meditite. <Baby killer.>
