J.J. was sent on a mission by Team Pravus command to retrieve some rare pokemon for them and himself from the Spring Garden. He was given a Croagunk named Toxin for this mission but he also brought along his Politoed called Toad aswell but Toad was a bit lazy at the moment. Toxin was level 11 and just seemed to sit and stare at the flowers. J.J. thought he was just as disgusted as he was at the sight. J.J. knew that a Croagunk's ideal habitat would be a swamp or a marsh or something but if it meant finding some rare pokemon, so be it. He was hoping to find a new pokemon for him to catch as he needed some more pokemon on his team.
J.J. thought it would be best to start at the lake to catch some rare water pokemon. He was hoping for a Kreem, a Feebas or a Magicarp for they are fierce battlers when they evolve and because they look stunning when they are battling aswell but he knew all to well that nothing ever goes according to plan, as he knows what happens when things are going according to plan they end up biting you in the ass before going right.
He got to the lake edge and then sent out Toxin and Toad. " Now I want the two of you to go down their and fish out some water pokemon for me, o.k." said J.J. seriously. <Okey dokey boss> said Toad before diving in the lake. Toxin just stood there but then saluted J.J. before diving in after Toad.
J.J. waited a couple of hours before seeing a group of Kreem being chased by Toad, shortly followed by a disgruntled Toxin riding atop a Lantern. J.J. was eying the Kreem with lust hoping to get into a battle with one and hopefully catch one, but his lustful thoughts were short lived when he saw the group of Kreem flailing Toad out of the water and saw Toxin leap off of the Lanterns back before it got the chance to shock him. The group of water pokemon dove back into the depths of the lake leaving behind an unconsious Toad and an extremely dizzy Toxin. J.J. called his Toad back to his pokeball to get some rest. He then sat the dizzy Toxin down beside him and waited at the waters edge until another pokemon popped up for him to hopefully (but unlikely) catch.

It had been quite some time since Jareth had been into the gardens. If he'd come here for the purpose of battling, he and Kas would have been sent back into the city very quickly, for the pokemon around here were actually quite powerful. Too powerful for Kas to handle at this point in his training, anyway. That would change soon enough, but for now he came here peacefully, with the intention of simply watching all the pokemon around the area. There were rarely any people here, so it made for a peaceful place to simply sit down and read or bring a bag lunch (or both).
It was a warm day, so Jareth was dressed in relatively warm-weather clothing. Of course, he rarely wore anything without sleeves, and today was no different. He wore a pair of black sneakers, recently-laundered black jeans, and a white tee shirt underneath a deep blue long-sleeved shirt (which he kept buttoned). He carried a backpack with him, which held a book on physics, a bag lunch, and a few pokeballs. Although the pokemon around here were generally much too powerful for Kas to handle, there might possibly be one that Jareth could capture. In any case, it never hurt to be prepared.
They had walked from the city to here, taking the well-travelled path but finding that very few people were out and about today. That was no surprise, really. It was a weekday, after all, and in Sky Reach most people had jobs to get to at this time of day. There would be more people around in a few hours around and after dinnertime, but Jareth would be long gone by then. Kas walked by his side, keeping an eye out for any wild pokemon and every now and then stopping to sniff a flower or two. He wasn't smelling them for the aroma, however. He was inhaling the scent because a pokemon had brushed up against it recently, and left its own scent on the plant. Jareth didn't stop to wait for him, knowing that Kas would catch up eventually regardless.
He eventually found a place to sit down not so very far from a pond. In fact, he was just over a small hillock from where the Team Pravus commander was kneeling in the grass, but he wasn't really paying any attention to anything besides his book by that time. He sat down on a dry spot in the grass, pulled his book out of the bag he'd brought with him, and opened it to the page he'd bookmarked earlier. Most people would find a book like this to be endlessly boring, but Jareth actually found it interesting. Within minutes, he was completely absorbed in his book.
Meanwhile, Kas wandered off a ways, even going so far as to wander around the hillock. He spotted the other human and narrowed his eyes, mostly so he could see better. He was calling a politoed back into its pokeball, and there was another very similar pokemon who was weaving about a little bit as the trainer talked to it. Kas lay down in the grass, making himself as unnoticeable as possible, and observed the two.

J.J. was sitting by the pond trying to get Toxin to snap out of how confused it was. Toxin meerly danced around in circles. J.J. began massaging his head out of frustration. He sent Toad back out to see how much damage was dealt. He wasn't really hurt. He just got really dizzy and passed out. J.J. took a Full restore out of his bag and began to spray it on Toad's wounds.
Toxin had finally stopped dancing around in circles and was no longer confused. Toxin began to look around while J.J. healed Toads wounds. Toxin was looking around when he saw a trainer trying to duck behind a patch of tall grass. Toxin just glared at the trainer while slowly expanding and deflating his poison sacs on his cheeks. He then saw a Nidoran running towards him. Toxin ran back to J.J. to tell him. "Are you feeling any better Toad"? asked J.J.. <Yes, that medicine is working wonders> replied Toad. J.J. saw Toxin running towards him. <Croak, trainer behind, croak, grass> said Toxin a broken english. J.J. understood enough to realise someone was spying on them. He walked briskly up to the grass while slowly clenching and unclenching his Glalie arm. " What do we have here" said J.J. in a cruel tone. Toad and Toxin began to laugh maniaclly as J.J. drew closer. Toxin slashed the grass using poison jab revealing a startled trainer and his pokemon.

Ooc: Uhm, just for the record, Jareth wasn't trying to hide behind the grass... He had no idea there was another person there at all, actually. Also, Kas wasn't running towards Toxin either. He just sneaked up a little ways and then lay still. /Ooc
For a little while, Jareth tried to read with the book about two feet away from him. It was a sunny day, and he hated to wear his reading glasses on these kinds of days. The lenses made everything seem much brighter, and might actually hurt his eyes in the bright light. Still, it became obvious fairly quickly that he wasn't going to be able to read the tiny print with any reasonable speed unless he could look at it up close. With a sigh, Jareth put down his book and turned around, rummaging through his pack for the familiar mahogany-colored glasses case that he almost always carried with him. It didn't take him too long to find it, buried inside the pocket of the light windbreaker he'd also stuffed in there, just in case it happened to rain... Again.
Jareth cleaned the lenses on his shirt for a few moments, then slipped them on and made sure they were comfortable on his nose before he went back to his book. Once again though, it wasn't long before he got a little uncomfortable and decided to change position. He tried leaning on one elbow on his side, propping himself up on both on his stomach, and holding the book up while lying on his back, but none of those positions were comfortable after just a moment or two. Finally, he spotted a convenient rock and propped his backpack up against it, pulling his knees partway up to his chest and propping his book up against the lower part of his stomach. Finally, he seemed to find a position that worked. Not only that, but he could now put his back to the sun so that he didn't have to squint at the white, laminated pages.
Kas, meanwhile, saw the second pokemon, the Croagunk, run off. He didn't feel like pursuing the toad-like creature, and so simply decided to go back to Jareth and take a nap. He walked slowly back to his trainer, poking his head into the backpack and sniffing about to make sure there was at least a little pokemon food inside. He knew he wasn't going to get it yet, but he wasn't very hungry either, so it didn't really matter. The nidoran sniffed at Jareth's pockets as well, just to make sure, but smelled nothing. He was slightly disappointed, but he would always be fed later. With a grunt, he turned in a circle and lay down with his back against his trainer's leg. He closed his eyes against the sun, laid his large ears down against his back, and snuggled in a little bit before letting out a sigh. Now he could finally take a nap.
Unfortunately, the rest wasn't going to last long. It wasn't more than a couple minutes after that when the grass at the top of the hillock suddenly disappeared, having been cut down by a pokemon attack of some sort. The pokemon wasn't the thing which claimed one's attention though. It was the trainer who appeared over the hillock, flexing the muscles on an odd-looking arm and wearing a menacing expression on his face. Jareth looked up, and Kas sprang to his feet, standing protectively beside his trainer. He growled a little at the human, but didn't actually say anything. Oh sure, the two pokemon could have understood him, but he didn't really have anything to say at the moment. Not yet, anyway. If these two (or three, if the trainer was to be counted in the equation) proved to be a threat, he was ready to take them on, even though he could tell that at least one of the pokemon was much more powerful than he was.
Jareth looked up, his vision going blurry as he tried to see distance through his close-up lenses. He lifted a hand to remove the glasses, folding them up and placing them in his shirt pocket carefully. The other trainer didn't seem to have good intentions, but he didn't want to make any assumptions. "...Can I help you?" he asked, his voice quiet but not frightened-sounding. He didn't get scared easily - one thing which helped greatly when problem pokemon were getting aggressive and needed a calm hand to deal with them. Still, he wasn't stupid. He could tell when someone had ill intentions, especially when someone was glaring at him the way this man currently was.

(Sorry about that. When I was reading your post I got mixed up between your charry and your pokemon. And I didn't say Kas was running towards Toxin, I said he saw him running towards Jareth and stopped and that Toxin began to glare at him before running back to J.J. Sorry about the mix-up though.)
J.J. saw the trainer who didn't appear quite as startled as when the grass disintigrated when Toxin slashed th grass. J.J. took a look at the trainer's pokemon. It was a little male Nidoran who was growling at J.J.. Toad could take his Nidoran out right here and now but J.J. prefered to have some fun with his prey before going in for the kill. He looked at the trainer closely with his icy blue eyes. He didn't look like much from J.J.'s point of view but then again, never judge a book by it's cover as his mother would say.
He scanned the trainer and saw that he only had one pokemon, a Nidoran. Not much of a selection now is there he thought to himself. Still, he may have some money on him but he wasn't so cruel as to steal a persons pokemon. J.J. may be a Commander for Team Pravus but would never steal another trainers pokemon, even if it might be worth a bit. He saw that the trainer was reading a book while he was trying to catch some pokemon by the lake.
He took a look at Toxin and saw that he was very riled up at the Niidoran. He was trying to keep himself still, restaining himself from trying to beat the crap out of the Nidoran. He then took a look at Toad who seemed fine but he still had quite a wound on his leg and limped a bit when he walked. He knew he wouldn't be able to battle the trainer even at his level he didn't want to risk it. He called Toad back to his pokeball and then stood his ground and told Toxin to get ready to fight. "Unless you'd like to become a lab rat back in Pravus HQ I suggest that you get your Nidoran ready to battle" said J.J. as he took out a device from his pocket. It was like a handheld computer that he used to scan Toxin as he was never told of Toxins strengths or weaknesses or even his moves. He saw that he was extremely fast with a lot of physical strength. "Toxin, use Brick Break" he shouted as the battle began.

Ooc: I guess we both mis-read then. xD Ah well. It happens. /Ooc
Kas continued to growl at the two pokemon, puffing himself up to make himself look larger than he actually was. His ears stood directly upright, and every muscle trembled as he waited to leap at the two pokemon. The nidoran wasn't stupid though - he knew that most pokemon didn't do anything until their trainers told them to. So he kept his eyes on the trainer instead, staring him down and utterly ignoring the rather dirisive glance he received from the man. Kas had already decided that he didn't like any of these people, and although Jareth didn't actually tell him to be ready for battle, the nidoran used Focus Energy to hone in on any potential weaknesses in his potential opponents' defence (read as: raised critical hit ratio). Jareth laid a calming hand on his pokemon's back, but he was getting a little uptight too. He could feel the tension in the air, and knew there was going to be a battle. Just who would be the victor depended on which pokemon out of the two frog-like ones the other trainer sent out.
Somewhat less importantly, Jareth wondered what exactly had happened to the other trainer's arm. It looked very, very odd, almost like it was covered with ice... Actually, that was exactly what it looked like. Not only that, but the trainer's eyes and hair were odd too... There was something very strange about this man, although Jareth wasn't sure exactly what to call it. He'd never seen a pokemorph before, although he would probably make the connection the instant someone mentioned the name to him (or the name of the particular pokemon that JJ had been fused with). Still, Jareth was fairly confident that this man wasn't about to attack him personally. He did worry for Kas, however, if the other trainer chose to attack with the politoed. The simple fact that it had evolved into such a form proved that it was probably too much for Kas to handle, much as he might have loved to try to tackle the froglike pokemon.
Jareth's fears were realized as the man said something about a lab rat, and a familiar name: Team Pravus. Jareth didn't know very much about the group, but he knew they employed a large number of scientists and were widespread across the region. They were also supposed to be very powerful, although Jareth didn't really know exactly what that entailed. He didn't have time to think about that though, for suddenly the croagunk was leaping towards him and Kas, preparing for the sudden attack.
Kas braced himself for the impact, knowing full well that the attack would hit Jareth if he didn't stay to deal with it. The fighting-type attack wouldn't have done much to him anyway, but since he was ready for it, it was even less effective. Kas quickly shook himself off and looked to Jareth for orders. His trainer stood up from his spot on the ground, scarcely hesitating at all before saying, "Kas, use Peck." The nidoran nodded slightly, leaping up into the air and aiming to come down on top of the toadlike creature, aiming the hard teeth that poked out from the tip of his muzzle towards the creature's skull. If that didn't work, he would dart out of the way, hopefully before another attack could be landed.
Jareth really would have preferred today to be calm and peaceful, but that didn't seem to be the way it was going to go. He let out a little sigh as he quickly climbed to his feet, facing the other trainer. He gave Kas his orders and watched the croagunk, ready to warn the nidoran if Toxin (as the other trainer had called him) dodged and tried to catch Kas off-guard. The flying-type attack the Kas used should have done a lot of damage against the fighting-type pokemon, so maybe, just maybe, the other trainer would surrender.

J.J. may have been rash when attacking but he wasn't stupid. He knew fully the moves a Nidoran could learn as he faced quite a few in battle as a child. He saw the Nidoran coming at Toxin with a Peck attack but was prepared for such a thing. "Toxin, dodge and use Rain Dance." shouted J.J.. Toxin dodged the full blow of Peck but it still scathed his side as he leaped out of the way. Toxin began gathering large amounts of energy in his hands and then fused them together into a ball of swirling blue light. He fired the ball into the sky causing storm clouds to gather. Within seconds it began raining fiercely causing the previously stable ground into a murky, damp marsh. Toxin felt right at home here among the mud and murky ponds giving him an advantage.

Kas landed on the ground, his attack having just grazed the toadlike pokemon's side. He shook his head a little, growling more to himself than the other pokemon. This time, he was going to aim better. He now knew how fast the croagunk could be, and knew that he could hit the toad-thing next time. The nidoran turned around, crouching down in the thick grass not in an attempt to hide, but rather getting ready to pounce on the other trainer's pokemon. The croagunk was a little too close to Jareth, and Kas didn't like it. Still, he waited for orders anyway, staring down the other pokemon as it performed some sort of odd water-ball effect, which caused it to begin pouring. Kas took a little jump to the side, testing out the new marshy ground, and found that the thick grass made it much easier to avoid sinking into the mud. He made a note of where the rocks and dense patches of grass were (and there were many of both), and glanced to Jareth for orders as the croagunk ended its little series of dance moves.
"Do it again, while he's still busy." Jareth said quietly, stooping down a little to pick up his book and put it in his backpack (which was, thankfully, waterproof). He didn't want his physics book to get drenched. He'd never be able to peel the pages apart if it was. In any case, he didn't have to look away from the battle to do that, so it was really no problem at all. Jareth had to pay attention though. Kas could fight by himself, but he did a much better job if Jareth was there to give him orders. Kas probably knew not to use any other attack besides peck if he had the option, since it would be extremely effective against the fighting-type pokemon, but Jareth needed to tell him which moves to use and when anyway, more for the sake of strategy than a lack of trust in his faithful pokemon.
Kas nodded slightly at the order, backing up a step or two before he sprang forward and aimed his muzzle dowards again. Instead of attacking the same way this time, he aimed his jump so that he would land just to the croagunk's right, and attacked by pecking his nose and hard front teeth at the toad-pokemon's side. He aimed directly for the pokemon's ribcage, hoping to knock the wind out of it so that he could double-kick (or better yet, peck once more and hopefully hit a critical spot).

Toxin saw Kas as the other trainer seemed to call it homing in on him. He whipped up some mud to provide some protection against the attack. Toxin was hit in the side by peck but he shook it off. "Toxin, get close and use Mud Bomb!" said J.J. who was standing on a tree stump above the mud. Toxin knew that Nidoran were Poison types so Mud Bomb would be deadly. He dashed up towards Kas to get as close as possible to him to deliver the ending blow hopefully. He dived into the mud and darted towards Kas faster than when there was no mud. He was at a distinct advantage here wether the other trainer knew it or not. Toxin homed in on Kas and jumped in such a way that he was about an inch, directly above Kas and fired Mud Bomb with all his might.

Ooc: I don't know if this is what you're going by, but Croagunk doesn't learn Mud Bomb until level 29, and there's no TM for it. /Ooc
Adokas snorted in annoyance as the quick croagunk dodged away yet again, avoiding some of his attack. Still, he knew he had hit a vital spot, thanks to his earlier focus energy move. That meant that one more hit should take the toad down for good... So long as he could avoid getting hit by anything hugely effective. That meant staying out of the way as much as possible, and navigating the mud carefully. The little nidoran was already standing atop a patch of grasses and reeds, which provided him a perfectly secure surface to stand on. The croagunk, meanwhile, was sticking to the mud (which was no surprise). Kas would have to lure him in close and then leap at him...
Jareth's thoughts were moving along much the same vein. In fact, almost exactly the same progression of strategy was going through his head. He wished that he didn't have to speak his ideas out loud to the nidoran, because then the other trainer wouldn't be able to hear what he was going to do. Speaking of which... Jareth turned his attention to the man who had challenged him, paying attention to his next command. He ordered his croagunk to move in close and use... Mud Bomb? That was a ground-type attack, which meant it was potentially deadly to Kas (even though the little nidoran hadn't taken a single hit yet).
"Kas, try to dodge it, but stay close and peck him again, as hard as you can." Jareth said quietly. Kas's ears twitched, showing that he'd heard his trainer, and he crouched down on his bed of reeds, watching the croagunk approach. He knew there was a rock right behind him, just a couple feet away, and he was pretty confident that he could jump backward and land on it. The croagunk was right in his face suddenly, and Adokas saw a mudball in the slimy thing's hands. At that moment, he leapt backward. Some of the mud still hit him, of course, and it hurt quite a lot, but the tough little nidoran shook it off bravely and prepared himself for his landing. The moment his feet touched the rock, he pushed off again, aiming to peck the croagunk once more. He felt like he was overusing the attack, being more used to using double kick instead, but it was extremely effective, and so why not use it repeatedly?

(about your querie I know they only learn it at 29 and this happened to me too before. I'm not actually owning the Toxin and it's pretty much an NPC pokemon that I'm using and I just use a couple of moves it knows cos it'll be gone away afterwards. Sorry if this annoys you I'll edit it if you want)
The Peck hit Toxin right in the chest. He stumbled around before collapsing on the ground, defeated. The earlier peck attacks must've taken a lot out of him. He couldn't battle anymore. Who would've thought that a little Nidoran could've been so powerful. J.J. merely shook it off and went down to the pokemon. He clicked the little button on his pokeball and called him back. A red beam of energy ingulfed him before retreating to it's pokeball. He never said much when he lost but he knew that Toxin wasn't very strong, at least not compared to his other pokemon. He pondered for a moment before taking out a piece of paper, a card and a pen. He wrote something on it before foldong it in half. He placed it along with the card and Toxin's pokeball on the stump he was previously standing on before heading off into the distance with a slight smirk on his face. "Interesting, he could be useful" and that was it. J.J. left Toxin's pokeball on the stump along with a letter and call card.

Ooc: It's okay. I just wasn't sure if you were going by actual level or not, which was why it confused me. Um... I guess I'll leave it on the list when I add croagunk to Jareth's pokemon bag (by the way, thanks for giving Toxin to him!). Yeah. I'll figure it out. xD /Ooc
Kas's attack landed squarely on the chest of the croagunk, and the toad-pokemon went flying, landing on its back in the mud. Kas landed in the middle of the muck, and knew he wouldn't be able to jump away if he was attacked again. The little nidoran braced himself for the impact of another attack, knowing he'd be buried if the croagunk used another mud bomb attack... But it didn't come. Kas opened his eyes, tugging his feet from the mud as the sky cleared and the rain stopped, allowing him to see the form of the croagunk dissolve into a reddish light before it was sucked up into the pokeball.
Jareth was rather surprised that he'd been able to defeat the other trainer. Of course, he still had other pokemon, so Jareth was prepared for him to let another one out. If he got mad and let the politoed out, Jareth might have to surrender. He didn't want Kas to get killed by the much stronger pokemon... However, nothing of the sort happened. Instead, as Jareth prepared for a possibly devastating battle, the trainer returned the croagunk to its pokeball, wrote something on a piece of paper he had taken out of his pocket, and left both on top of the nearest stump. Jareth watched, utterly clueless as to what to say, as the white-haired man smirked a little and simply walked away. He stepped forward and picked up the small piece of paper, glancing at the number on it, and then picked up the pokeball. By this time, Kas had freed himself from the mud and made his way over to Jareth, looking up at him questioningly. " Let's go back home. Do you want to get back in your pokeball?" he asked. Kas simply snorted and started walking towards the city in the distance, and Jareth smiled and shook his head a little at the stubborn nidoran. He took one last glance toward the strange trainer he'd just battled, then tucked the slip of paper and pokeball away, turning his own steps toward home as well.
