Well, despite what he had imagined, he had actually seen absolutely no legendary Pokemon, or even a Pokemon in general. He knew this was actually likely, but still, he was a little saddened by this. Ah well, maybe later would be when he was on some dangerous adventure! Yet his mind already was scanning the countryside, memorizing and getting ready to draw it.
That was mainly because he wanted a map of the place. See, that was a side goal of his, to map as many routes as possible, so that should he ever need them, he would have it more detailed than the common town maps. Of course, he was going to have to buy paper, but for now, he walked along, looking around for any detail.

A kid walks past a pokemon's turf. Is it a rookie perhaps? Of course it is. His clothes aren't even tore or faded in the slightest. He wouldn't last one bit here, never mind the emerald forest. <Time to toughen this kid up.> a voice of a pokemon speaks, uncomprehendable to a human. a pair of cute, wide eyes watched the trainer as he passed through the plains. The pokemon, brown, and supports himself with his tail, peered out through the bush.
<Jeese Louise, this guy looks easy. I'll be doing him a favour by battling the kid.> Sentret laughed hysterically. He made himself visible by withdrawing himself from behind the bush. He approached the trainer, and went into a battle ready position, waiting for the trainer to make his first move with whatever pokemon he had- if he had any. He sneered as he saw the trainer, trying to make him feel uncomfortable, and stood on the spot triumphantly.

Reece saw to his surprise that in fact, he didn't have to worry about searching for some pokemon, that they would instead come up to him and seek him out! Obviously this one was begging for a fight, and he smiled, pulling out one of the pokeballs at his waist, and throwing out his Grista, who shook as it came out, and he said " Use tackle!"
Grista was not too happy to be ordered around so soon, and instead of charging off straight away, stretched, before charging off and attempting a tackle. Meanwhile, Reece sighed at his pokemon's reaction. Oh well, at least it did listen.

The Sentret had grown quite bored in the minutes between his exposure, and the trainer's actions. A fight with a rock would be harder then this borefest. He pondered to himself, rocking back and forth on his striped tail, and scowling occasionally. Then he heard the noise of movement, and instantly was stil. There was a bright flash of red light, and a little orange dog resembling a Growlithe dropped to the ground/. The only difference was it had wings, and was a slightly darker burnt orange. <That's it? A baby ?> The bored wiild pokemon inquired, and then started laughing.
Whatever it was didn't seem to interested in battle ,judging by how he stretched. Of course that initial hesitance soon disappeared as it surged forward in a tackle attack. But Sentrets were known for being ever alert, and well sentry like.
Bouning back on his tail, he easily dodged the attack, then like the Jack in the Box from hell he sprung forward again, his claws ready to kill. With a chuckl he swung them at the Gristas side. <Boing, boing! You have to be quicker then that to catch me pup! Like you'll ever make it through Route one!> The creature shouted, his ego level almost as high as his perch atop of his pillar of a tail.

As Seriyah missed with her attack, she growled, especially at the Sentret's next comment, which she shot back " It's not to hard to catch a rat!" And then raced after, barely hearing Reece's command to do a peck, which she did, rising up and then dropping into a arial peck.
Reece watched them seemingly talk, not understanding any of it obviously, but he called out for her to do a peck, even if in her haste, she most likely wouldn't hear him. Oh boy would he have to train a lot more.

<Well if only you were fightng a Rattata> He returned smootly, the gloating look on his face enough to send most sane people into a angry tantrum. Combined with the bored, and superior tone of his voice, most people would be angered after only a few seconds with this creature, and judging by the Grista's actions she was no different. Of course the Sentret had been counting on it, just not ocunting on the direction she would attack from. She should thank me for wasting time on a newb like her, is that the extent of her insults? Jeeze, we have some work to do. Then she would grovel, and love him forever.
The command to attack, caused him to level a gaze at the Grista, and prepare to jump out of the way. Of course then she seemed to disappear. The Sentret wans't the fastest thinking creature on the Route. By the time he realzied his oppenet had taken to the sky her pointed teeth were inches from his head. Then with a sound like a hammer hitting a melon, he staggered back, blood beading down from the middle of his forehead. Jumping forward he attempted to scratch the Grista again. (Don't forget to count ya words)

((340 words with this post!))
Seriyah grinned as she saw the oh so cocky and superior Sentret look around as if confused at where the heck she had gone, and then too late looked up, as she hit him hard, bouncing back and slipping slightly, which angered her since now she couldn't react, taking the scratch hard, which caused a thin line of blood to show. In response to the pain, she just grunted.
Reece grimaced at the sight of the blood on the Sentret's head, but as it stratched his pokemon, he growled, and said " peck again!" He knew the trick wouldn't work twice, but counted on Seriyah knowing more than she let on.
Which she did, rising up only to land behind and charge, going behind him in an attempt to hit or scare him closer to Reece, who had a pokeball in hand.

Sentret squeeled as he saw the approaching Grista with a peck attack. Obviously this was all an act to get Reece's self asteem up. Then it would all go crashing down on him as Sentret beated Grista. He swung on his tail to the side, swaying near the ground, and dodged the Grista's attack narrowily. He laughed notoriously, and stuck out his small, canine tongue at the trainer. He bounced about on his tail hapilly for quite awhile.
When all monkey business was done, he gave another scratch attack to the Grista. He bounced and rolled up the battle field, to the Grista, and layed his claws into the body of the Grista, to scratch him. He smiled demonically and began speaking. <Poor little Grista! Your first fight is going to be your last!> he sneered, even though he knew deep down, that even if he fainted, he would be as good as new soon. The insult still made sense in his eyes.

As the sentret dodged her attack, she growled again, and then watched him bob up and down, seemingly pleased with itself. Of course, during this time, Seriyah was getting ready for his next attack, hoping to dodge it and counterattack, which Reece had caught onto and was letting her, waiting until the strike to call out a command.
Soon enough it had attacked, using a stratch, and to his surprise, Seriyah dodged slightly, so that the main force was lost, but it still hit her, but Reece caught on, saying " Peck!" Seriyah was right next to the Sentret, and she grinned, saying " Oh, I'm sure your mistaken." And then followed through.

The Sentret smirked as his claws scratched the surface of the Grista's skin. At such close range it would have been very hard to miss, but it was still fun. <I told you that you were to slow!> The racoon like pokemon chuckled, his ego inflting to the size of a balloon. The Sentret turned toward the human and sneered <Jeeze with a trainer like that it's no surprise you're so weak.> Hopefully the disdainful expression on his face would make Seriyah understand his line of thought, and take insult from it.
Then the Grista spoke again. <I am not--I am never wrong.> Leaning back on his tail, he hopped over the Grista, and her "peck". Effectively dodging her, and putting himself in the perfectp osition to attack. Swinging his claws at the smaller pokemon's back, he hoped to teach here a lesson, you had to know your oppenents strength's before you attacked them. If not you were in for the long hall.

He smirked at her, Which ticked off the Grista to no end, and as it dodged, trying to counterattack, she flew upwards, wasting no time between her attack and her flying upwards, to then unleash another arial peck since she was above. This would have to be good, since the attack itself hadn't meant to connect, but only to fake him out.
Reece grinned as his plan worked, he had hoped she would catch on, and to his luck, she had. Ah, teamwork. Seemingly in battle she was less hesetant to listen to him, or maybe it was just because this plan made sense to her. Either one would work.

This battle seemed to go in a rather simple circle, two attacks, and anywhere between zero and two dodges, before it began all over again. Of course having only two to three attacks at each of the Pokemon's disposal, variety was not really an option. Such was how the battle would go until one either lost, or one learned a new move, which was a long time coming. The wheel goes round and round--and this turn was no different.
The Sentret snorted in annoyance as the Grista cleanly dodged him. It was much more enjoyable when he actually hit her! Then she was up in the air again, did she know how to do anything else!? A sneer lit up his face as he glared at the descending Sentret, but it seemed he had no intentions of hopping out of the way this time. Then he wrapped his hands over his chest and dropped, his tail coming up to cover his face. This resulted in a almost perfectly round sentret ball. Still Seri kept coming, the peck ,smashed into the region of the ball where the front of the Sentret was. The ball seemed to explode.
Reaching out with both claws he tried to grab the Grista's face, then releasing her with one claw he attemped to swipe her face repeatedly with the other paw, it would be sweet if it hit! But she did have wings, and a opportunity to dodge, that was called his "SURPRISE" scratch, and it wouldn't be the last she saw it.

Grista registered the annoyance on his face with a smug look, well, that was a bonus, and then as she did her flying acrobatics, she saw him not try and dodge, but then rolled into a ball. Reece was suspicious, calling out " Watch out!" But there wasn't much Grista could do since she was in the middle of an attack, save lower her head.
Well, seemingly that was a great thing, since the ball seemed to explode, scratching up the top of her head badly, might even have injured her should she not have aborted the peck. Still, her head had a few knocks, bleeding slightly, but she immediately took advantage of that and flew upwards, rising up about 15 feet in a matter of seconds, the sentret still on her head. Reece grinned, as long as she dropped him correctly, that would be on heck of a fall.

The Sentret screeched as the determined ittle pup climbed into the air. His muscles had picked a horrible time to freeze--the smug look on hs face as he tore up the Grista's scalp turned to one of sheer horror as they climbed higher into the air. Instead of letting go his grip tightened, and his eyes widened. It was now quite obvious that he was afraid of heights.
Then his stomach becme lodged in his throat as the hurt Grista let go, sending him plummeting straight to the ground, instinct forced him to move his tail, and curl it around the point iof impact. Which saved more then hs ass.
A cloud of dust rose from the hole the Sentret had made upon impact. A growl soon followed, and with a grunt the Sentret hefted himself back to his normal bobbing position. Cuts and bruises ringed his face, and back, and he looked more like a clown then he did a Pokemon, but clowns usually do not glare at others with deadly thoughts raging in their minds, which was what the Sentret was doing.
With a growl he jumped at the Grista, his claws flashing in the sun. THIS THING WAS GOING TO PAY DEARLY FOR THAT!

With a bloodied scalp, she glared at the Sentret with equal dislike and ran at him, not scared of his claws for the moment, since this little rat dared to hurt her, well, it was going to pay big now. She would throw him in the woods when she was done with him, a bloodied mess barely alive. Running full speed now, she seemed to be intent on running over him.
Reece started to get worried about how she was disliking this, obviously trying to catch this pokemon would not be a popular choice, but then again, if a good hit landed on him, maybe this fight would end quickly, and then as she raced at the sentret, he realized upon a plan and motioned her to come to him.
