"I must say, these shoes simply cannot do for this trainer thing" said calmly. She became agitated wearing such shoes of decency. They never design fancy shoes for traveling. Always so ugly and dull. Take hiking boots for example. She removed the delicate shoes from her feet to throw them behind her on her walk. She was walking bare foot! "My dress certainly wasn't a wise choice either!" she snorts nastily. Her ginger hair, neatly put in place by a single hair band, with a small ribbon on its front.
"My mother, Lucy would never wear these clothes of nuisance is she traveled herself. God rest the woman's soul, she made the dresses beautifully" she sighs. If only she had a proper life with her mother, who died after childbirth. Her uncle, Lance was the only one who'd taken care of her since her parents death. Now, at 19 she wants to be a Pokemon trainer, and care for Pokemon, like her mother had done all that time ago. She reached into her straw basket she so casually carried, and retrieved a bottle of fragrances perfume, which she sprayed along her neck and chest.
She reached the Lab with a sigh of relief and extended a hand to knock on the stainless steel door. She noticed a list which explained the starter Pokemon, and their types etc. There were some interesting Pokemon on the list, and some, not so interesting. Nevertheless, she would never call a Pokemon worthless. Everything comes to use some way or another. But living things must be loved, no matter what power they hold. She steps away from the door, to be polite, and stands about two MITREs away. She takes out a handkerchief, and wipes her forehead with it, before her knock is answered.
"My my. It's awfully tiring to walk over to this laboratory" she says to herself. She peers into her basket to make sure she has everything she is going to need. Her poke balls, 5 she had bought before hand, and a selection of berries too. Beside them, a handkerchief, in case they start getting into sob stories, she likes to feel others feelings and help them out. Perhaps the professor has a happy life as it is and doesn't need any help in life.
The look of the lab is certainly a good impression of how he takes care of himself. Judging by the lab, it seems he may be a cheerful man. "I wonder does this gentleman have a wife?" she asks herself curiously. In her other hand, she has a small tray, with some tasty muffins, homemade, by the wonderful woman of perfection herself. She holds them out welcomely and waits for the door to be answered.

The sound of the dainty knock permeated through the lab's stale air, causing both pairs of eyes to flicker up from the paper they were editing together. The professor's eyebrows raised, and he began to walk towards the door. Of course as was usual Bill; the unofficial doorman, opened it with a flick of his large yellow wrist. This left the Professor standing in the middle of the room, looking very out of place. Turning towards Bill he narrowed his eyes--the whirled back around as Bill stated. "Look, a woman has come selling baked goods--get a muffin and make her go away, James. I do not want to hear sale pitches about vacuums, and fine china." The Professor walked toward the door, and glanced back at Bill. Hopefully he wouldn't try anything funny.
"May I help you?" It wasn't often a woman came to his house dressed like that, especially one holding a tray giving off smells of home baked goodness like those muffins. Those delicious berry studded pastries almost had him drooling. Of course most women would tink it was-well something else bothering the man's mind. But come now James is not like that--he is the image of a well brought up gentleman, not a pervert. Much to Bill's dismay he opened the door and let the young lady in.
That's what these sellers want, for you to open the door, and invite them in, so they can reel you in with lies about their products. James is nothing but mayhap gullible. The Alakazam thought to himself, as he looked at the gussied up young woman. He had heard the thoughts, or bits of them ebfore Jame's opened the door. But he said nothing--of course he didn't have a wife--what woman would want to live in the lab with dangerous Pokemon?Of course that didn't mean he had never had a wife.
"Welcome--so as I inquired in the horrid hot weath--Oh what happened to your shoes?" The pink of bare flesh had caught his eye, and he found hikself looking at a pair of dusty, but well maintained feet. As usual he was in his brown loafers, his pants disguising whatever color sock rose above that. A white labcoat, hung over his brown waistoca, and green long sleeved shirt, if not for the lab's air conditioning he likely would have sucummb to heatstroke.

Noticing the Alakazam opening the door, she jumped with disbelief as she heard it speaking, a sudden rage with his smart remarks also. She was dressed like a 70's sweet heart, but she was no girl scout selling cookies. With a sigh, she ignored Bill's stereotypical remarks and greeted the professor as he approached the door. A warm friendly smile she often had when she found a man who was charming to her.
Not that the lady was a slut, she just often blushed or showed other signs of nerves or affection when she was in front of a man she sought charm from. Not that she fancied the professor, but that she could tell he was a friendly person, compared to his rude, judgmental Alakazam. She smiled delightfully at James as he welcomed her, and paused as his attention turned to her feet.
"Oh! I do apoligise for my lack of footwear today. I too live in Barkwish town, but my house is quite a bit away from here. It was a long way over here, and the path isn't exactly flat surfaced either. They weren't comfortable shoes so in the end I had to be rid of them." she laughed. She knew herself that it was quite rude to turn up on someone's door step bare foot. She looked quite embarassed at her lack of foot wear too.
She turned her attention to Jame's and briefly looked at the list of pokemon. "Oh, these muffin's were handmade by me for you!" she said, handing the tray of muffin's to the professor. "I couldn't come here empty handed." she paused for a moment. "Of course I will need the tray back when your done." she added with a wink of her left eye. "Now, the reason why I came, here wasn't to sell muffin's!" she laughed kindly.
"I actually came here because I was hoping if you could... may I obtain one of your starter pokemon, James?" she said eagerly, half hoping Jame's wouldn't laugh at a nineteen year old for wanting to be a trainer at such an old age. "I want to be a carer of pokemon, like my mother lucy was before she died." she said, a little sad. "Perhaps you might've known my mother, Lucy?" she asked sternly.
She looked a little sad now, remembering her mother. She was so great with pokemon. Bree had always wanted to follow in her foot steps, and hopefully on this day she was going to do so. Bree just doesn't know if she will ever be as great as her mother. From what Lance had said to her, her mother was a beautiful woman. Respectful, for both herself, and pokemon and friends.
Jumping out of her brief day dream, she turns her attention to James. "I'm just looking at the list. I have no idea's of any of them. I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of these pokemon. I don't know which one would take my fancy, to be honest, James. Do you.. If I am permitted to obtain one of your starters, do you think you could recomend a pokemon to my liking? I honestly don't know the half of these things?" she laughs, feeling pathetic.
She toggles into her basket, looking through her berries and picking up one pokemon which turns slightly bigger as it's in the woman's grip. "Here, look, use my pokeball if that's what you need for the pokemon to go into. I know you shouldn't be expected to supply them." she says innocently. Little did she know that James did supply the pokeballs.
She stood there, like some kind of girl who had been attacked, several drops of sweat visible on her forehead, bare feet, and holding up a pokeball with generous kind eyes. She smiles pleasantly and waits for James to reply, hoping for the best.

To Bill it was like someone had dropped a bomb on the lab, after Bree entered. A moan escaped his lips as the young woman walkd inside, and smiled at James. It was like throwing a string of garlic at a vampire, or having two suns in the room. Where are the kindred spirits--not the kind gullible ones? He questioned to no one in particular, he seemed to always be surrounded by polite, charming, happy people, it was sickening to tell you the truth. It was like he was the only person in the world who didn't smile all the time.
Of course James didn't kick the woman out on the doorstep, he made it worse, by smiling back. "Welcome--welcome." At the answer to his earlier question regarding footwear, he waved his hand in dismissal. "It's fine miss--No need to be embarassed--I know all about uncomfortable footwear. Just be sure to put on some shoes before you go into town--the gravel square wreaks havoc with bare skin" He cautioned--but since she lived in Barkwish she probably already knew that.
James looked down at the tray in his hands, and holding it in the crook og his elbow, he stuck one of the luke warm bake goods in his mouth. He chewed it, and his face lit up. "Delicious. Oh--I'll be sure to send back the tray." "Along with a card thanking her forr being such a suck up." Bill added with a roll of his eyes. James had already been caught in the web of deception weaved by the little charmer. With a sigh he turned back to editing the paper on his desk.
The Professor's eyes widened. "Well---Of course." She wasn't the oldest he had come into his lab lately, that title had beloned to a 22 year old young man. It was never too late to find your calling--- "Lucy, yes. I do belive so. Sorry about her--well death. I wasn't the Professor when she started of course" The Professor said quietly, even if it was nineteen years ago, he was good with remembering who he may or may not have met. Besides since she had been a resident of Barkwish, it was easier .At the time he had been a lab assistant. "Hmm--well something to match your poise--So--I would say our chikorita, a adorable little plant type, we have a male currently, or Torchic, a sweet little fire bird, tha evolves into the stong willed Blaziken, and lastly the Selibulb, a cute llegless creature, that grows in beauty and strength.." Then he paused, she had been kind enough to make muffins, and it was a long walk. Besides her mother had been a great trainer.
"Or our Tapiir, they are the little flying horses you may have seen flitting about Route one." After all what citizen of Barkwish had never been onto the First route? "It's nothing to be ashamed of--after all it is my job to help you make a decision." At his desk Bill was being more disgusted by the minute. They were bothh too polite, he could have just called her a moron, and got it over with.
"Oh we supply those--so it's alright. But if you want to switch it to your own ball then that's fine." After a minute of pausing he turned back to the young woman. "So do you need anymore information?" After all he didn't want to rush her, this was a life changing decison after all. It wasn't like picking out a pair of socks--it was more like picking out a spouse. At this comparison jame's eyes flickered to grouchy bill, who very much resembled a yellow stormcloud at the moment.

She smiled happily as Jame's eat the muffin she had made, she was delighted that he liked it. She had spent many ours in the kitchen trying to prepare something, worth eating. She had always been a horrible cook. She doesn't know if her mother was the same, but she get's most her genes off her. She glared at Bill as he made his nasty remark. Showing the first bit of ignorance, she turns her back on Bill, and returns to Jame's.
Things are so much easier without the Alakazam and his rude judgements. She was happy to hear that Jame's knew her mother. It made her feel more comfortable. With a smile, she looked at her options for pokemon. She rushed in her brain the thoughts of each pokemo, but calmed down once Jame's told her to take her time. Even then, she felt under pressure, een more under pressure than before her said it.
Chikorita seems very loveable, Chikorita looks cute, and Tapiir looks loyal. But which one to accompany? This choice is going to be the choice of her partner pokemon, the first pokemon she will accomplice, and the pokemon she will be closest to. "Totodile!" Bree shouts. "May I have a Totodile?" she asks. Out of her three suitable choices, instead she decided to ask for the water pokemon- Totodile.

At the shout James hopped backward, his eyes the size of dinner plates. Where had that come from!? "A totodile?" So she was spontaneous he wagered? That shout had ocmpletely shattered his former image of her. No longer did she seem calm, and well mannered, she seemed loud, calm, spontaneuos, and mostly well mannered. But without a second thought he grabbed the last Totodile, and handed it to the young woman. "Take care of her, not that I don't think you will.." It was the only female Totodile, and had been saved for last by a fluke. Will it would probably fit her better then, the perverted one who had liked looking up ladies skirts. "Oh also there are three bags by the door, one in midnight blue, one in tan, and the other in baby blue, pick the one you like. They have everything else you need to start a journey." Then he nodded towards the door. Bill swung it open. 'Farewell mis suck up. Have a --trip hmm?" Well he couldn't say nice, and he wasn't enough of a asshole to tell someone to have a bad trip, so he just implied that she should trip down the stairs. Bree's eyes glowed as she witnessed the appearance of her very first pokemon. She was crying with happiness, and just stood there for quite awhile adoring her. She approached her with a smile on her face, and picked her up. She squirted water at Bree. Totodile pointed towards Bree's feet and tutted. "Oh! She has plenty of manners I see, she noticed my feet! I think you wet me because it wasn't mannerly walking in here like this! I think I know just what to call you, I'm going to call you Aqua." she said, smiling.
She had the pokeball which was belonged to the water pokemon, but decided not to put her inside yet, or maybe not to ever put her into it. But to keep it is quite handy. She returned it to her basket. She heard Jame's mention something about a starter pack. She approached the three bags. "These bag's are way to big for me to possibly use. They aren't exactly fashionable either." she admits, then takes out all items from one of them to put them to her basket.
They didn't fit. "Oh, very well, I think I'll choose the baby blue one." she said, emptying the contents back in along with her basket's contents and the basket itself. She handed a piece of paper to Jame's. "Take this Jame's, it's my address so that you can return the tray I have the muffin's placed on." she glances at the tray, which looked a little old. "On second thoughts, if you'd like you can keep them" she said, gazing at the tray.
She returned to the door in which she entered. Bill had already opened the door, and was eager for her to leave. He had insulted her more than once, and this was enough. She knew she couldn't get back to him directly with words in front of the professor, but she had a plan. She reached forward to give the Alakazam a little kiss, then smiled at both of them, and set out on her journey.
