Brian stood at the doors of Professor James Mahogany's doors. This was his lab where trainers received their starter pokemon for their pokemon journey. This was the same reason Brian was here at the doorsteps of the lab. Sure he wasn't at an appropriate age to start his own journey, but he had no choice until now. His parents wouldn't ever let him leave them on his own and go around the world without them, so he never did had a say in it. But now that he is a free man, he has decided to finally go on his own along waited journey with the career as a pokemon trainer.
But of course he will still do all the other wonderful things his parents had taught him like sketching and photographing pokemon, but those were just in his extra time when he wouldn't be training and battling. This was an exciting moment for Brian. It had been some years since he last came here with his parents in the RV. Last time they had come was because they just needed a refill in gas and his dad had to use the bathroom, so his last visit here wasn't important, but now this time it was probably his most important times he'd ever have in his life. Most people may not think that getting a pokemon would be the best thing that would happen to them when you compare that with other things they would do, but for Brian, just getting to stand inside the lab would be amazing to him.
"Mom and Dad are probably wondering what I'm doing right now. I never did tell them I was leaving home... oh well. I left a note on the door anyway if they had ever decided to come visit me. They'll be surprised when they find out." Brian said to himself. He began talking even more to himself, just standing in front of the steel doors. It had been quite some time since he had actually had a conversation to himself. It was kinda strange to do that, especially when other people were watching you. After a few minutes, Brian finished his conversation and examined the list of available pokemon for new trainees. "Let's see...maybe that one, or that one..." Brian said. He went though the choices and reduced the number of choices he had until he reached two pokemon he would like. "Those two are hard picks. I'll just pick one when I get in," Brian said. He tapped on the door and waited for a reply, stepping aside so that the door wouldn't hit him. It wouldn't be very nice to be hit by steel on his head.

Bill sat happily at his desk whilst reading the newspaper in silence, but then he thought. Silence. It was something he hadn't enjoyed in ages thanks to all the trainers that came through these doors. He tried to enjoy it while it lasted. He then made a grasp at his desk while looking at his newspaper before he looked down confused. James was meant to get the two of them a cup of coffee and that was an hour ago. He then sighed before walking into the kitchen to look for him.
He entered the room before saying "James, how long does it take you to make a cup of co-" he trailed off. When he saw the professor, he was at the table with a load of crosswords and sudoku puzzles piled up on the table with a very very tired looking James in the middle of them. "I thought we talked about you and puzzles. Hmmm?" he sighed before grabbing Mahogany's arm. "Come on" he said.
Mahogany looked very frustrated as he sat at his desk. "I'm not a child!" yelled Mahogany. "Yes, but you need to quit it with this obsession with these puzzles. You're getting sloppy" sighed Bill. "They exercise my mind!" "They distract you from your work!"
The two continued their arguument, nagging on like an old married couple. This was until they heard knocking at the door. Not another trainer Bill thought angrily. Atleast he or she would take Mahogany's mind off those puzzles. Now, if only this could get him to remember to bathe. Bill clicked his fingers to open the door, revealing a boy who was talking to himself. This would be interesting.
Mahogany walked to the door to greet him before Bill dragged him back and sprayed him with a vial of Bellossom extract while he wasn't looking. This would hopefully cover that smell. Mahogany then walked to the door and said "Hello. I'm Professor Mahogany but you can call me James" he said before gesturing him in. "Now, may I ask for your name?" he said nicely. He needed to get him to feel comfortable but most of all, not let him see the pile of puzzles in the kitchen. "Take a seat over here" he said, gesturing towards a sofa.

((BTW, Dusk you should know that Brian is a 'boy' xD))
After a few seconds of waiting, the door had swung open, but no one had appeared before Brian. Instead, it was an Alakazam that had opened the door for him, thought he didn't look too happy at the moment. And right there with the Alakazam was a man. "That must be the professor," Brian thought. Once the man had told Brian walked inside the lab, closing the door gently behind him. "Yep, he's the professor." Brian thought, sitting himself on the sofa. It was comfy, but it felt much more comfortable to Brian sitting on the branch of a tree, or just lying on the grassy grounds. Heck, even muddy grounds would be fine for him.
"It's nice to meet you, sir." Brian said, adjusting his legs. He swung his right foot onto his left knee and slumped back onto the cushions, making himself comfortable and relaxed. "My name is Brian Range. You probably already know why I'm here, so I won't trouble you much from your puzzles," Brian stretched his neck out and peered over to the kitchen area where a pile of all sorts of puzzles had been laid out on the table. He extended his neck back down and breathed in.
Brian let a small grin appear onto his face. The lab reminded him of his cousin's cottage. Small and cozy with a warm feeling, the atmosphere felt relieving, and it all looked quite neat. The only big differences were that Brian's cousin cottage wasn't meant for young trainers to come and get a pokemon, and that there wasn't a giant steel door for the main doors. But other than that, everything else seemed similar. Then again there was also the pile of puzzles still laying on the table which his cousin did not have. He had always been more of a book worm, than mental thinker, though Brian never liked either of the two subjects. His idea of fun and wasting time was always sketching in his sketchbook that he brought with him. Even now he had it with him in his brown backpack that slung over his shoulder.

(OoC: Ack! Sorry. I only had enough time to skim over it and get the basic info and the only character I knew you had was Megan. *feels really stupid right now* I have it changed. Sorry for the mix-up. xD)
"Hello there Bria-" the Professor cut off when the boy mentioned the puzzles. He had to admit, this guy has a good eye. Mahogany smirked as he made his way to the storage room in the corner of the room and proceded to open it. Without him having to open it, the door swung open and a large vine lashed out of the room, holding a box. The Venusaur's vine dropped it in the Professor's arms and retreated back to the closet. "Thank you" he said before shutting the door and turning to the boy. He couldn't really call him a boy though. He was a man, more or less. H just shrugged and walked over to him.
Bill sat quietly by and chuckled slightly when the boy mentioned the puzzles. James was making himself look like a right ass and slob at the moment. Mahogany then sat down beside Brian and began opening the box. "Well, you can take your pick from the Pokemon you saw on the list outside or if you feel like training a slightly rarer Pokemon, then you can take a pick from this box. The Pokemon in here are a baby Tapiir, a Cupie, a Machop, a shiny Bellsprout, a Bronzor or an Aron" he said, handing Brian a list with these starters on it and the ones that he saw outside. Now all he had to do was wait for an answer.
Bill yawned slightly when he heard the Pokemon that were listed. They all paled in comparison to him but then again, these were starter Pokemon. In his opinion, a Bronzor or an Aron suited the boy. If not them, then maybe a Machop. This boy seemed like a fighter so steel and fighting types are perfect choices. He decided to let all these Pokemon out, along with the main ones that stood on the pillars. They all floated into the air before snapping open, letting loose the Pokemon. Bill then clicked his fingers and the group lined up like a group of well-trained soldiers. He smiled before saying "Meet Brian. He is going to be the future trainer of one of you so behave". He clicked his fingers and a box of Pokemon food landed on the ground. He got some and handed it to Brian to feed the Pokemon. This wasn't usually what Bill did but this boy seemed more mature and witty compared to the other trainers that walked through those doors. He just had to see what Pokemon this particular boy chose.

Brian looked closely at each starter pokemon. He never realized there would be another set of starters for him to choose from. This made it more difficult to decide on his main pokemon. He studied each one, looking at their heads and wings and tails and anything else. He thought of the advantages and disadavntages for each pokemon. "Alright..." Brian said quietly to himself. He bended down on his knees to take a closer look at the pokemon. Some didn't catch his interest as much as the others did, so that eliminated some of the options.
"Well, grass-type isn't really my thing, so I guess I won't be getting the shiny bellsprout, chikorita, and selibulb." Brian thought. "And I'm not quite interested in water and fire-type, either. So I won't be taking ralsius, totodile, or torchic. Grista is also a fire-type, but he's flying, too, and that's what I'm aiming for. So I guess that'll leave me Grista, and Tapiir. But I've always admired steel-types, too... oh, boy," Brian's thoughts drifted away slowley as he imagined himself with each pokemon. He began thinking that this was probably taking a little too long to decide.
He stood back up on his feet and looked at James. "James, you've put me in a hard position right now, and I may possibly be here for the next few days if I wasn't in a hurry." Brian said. "But I've finally come to a decicion. And I think I'll take Aron as my starter." Brian lowered his look upon the small pokemon and into it's black pupils.
