Barkwish was home to a run down airport, and a series of short docking piers. These were the ways tourists, and new inhabitants entered the Region. Unlike other regions, the docks, and airport kept itself crime free, and there was no form of identification required. Since almost everyone who worked at either place was a Barkwish residence they had a country look on life, everyone was a friend, until proven otherwise. They smiled and waved at everyone, which was made this place such a nightmare for those who hated suck ups.
Such as Maddie Brown. Also known as "Madd".
The sun shone brightly overhead, turning the waters of the Remii sea a tranquil teal. The day was perfect for fishing, as was shown by the number of older men with fishing poles sitting around with their feet dangling in the water, their tan hats hiding their closed eyes, but not disguising their quiet snores. Meanwhile the fish pokemon had fun fulling at the hookless strings, a few sharpedo, jerking the fishermen into wakefullness such was the force of their pull. Everyone seemed to be having fun, except for one person. "Damn old fogeys, those fish should just eat them and get it over with. If we were in Johto, someone would have slit their throats already." Both of her orange eyes, flashed back and forth, paranoia in all her actions ,everytime someone neared, she tightened her muscles, and growled, sending them on their way. Beside her a little Poochenya walked, loud barks ripping out of his mouth as anyone neared them. Bandages were wrapped around his t0rso, and when he thought his trainer wasn't looking at him, he began to tear at them with his teeth, sending them into the watet below. "Yazu stop, or I will do something to you that will have them put you in a full body cast." <Try it bitch!> Maddie ignored him, and picked p speed.
The sound of water hitting the piers supports grew louder as she found herseld nearing a cargl ship. A piece of blood soaked pink paper was lcutched in her right hand. On her shoulder her little Sklugma Mafi, looked on in amazement as they unloaded a large crate.
The pair of burly machamps dropped it to the peir with a loud grunt. "What-- what the hell you're doing assholes!" Madd yelled running up the pier, her studded boots smacking loudly against the wood. Pushing one of the easygoing crweatures out of the way with a gleeful chuckle; she dug her clawed hands into the crate, and pulled, nails coming out with her hands. Throwing the crate top into the water, she began digging through the packaging. Packaging peanuts landed haphazardlt in the water, curious fish nudged them with their noses, calling Sharpedo's to the surgace., and then there was a yelp, and blood. That's more like the docks I know. Maddie thoguth with a smrik.
There was a gleam of black, and chrome, and she grinned. "Momma missed you baby!" Then she continued to complsively clean it. Her motorcle had returned, and even though she had no place to keep it , she now at least knew it was safe. Beisde her the Poochenya barked. <Looks like we get to go riding aropund again.> "Who said anything about you mutt!?" Mad yelled, gently, and oddly comradely kicking the little dog in the leg. The Poochenya snapped at her foot, and the string of profanities began all over again. The Slugma watched fro mabove, trying to figureo ut what they said, as they switched seamlessly from human to pokemon and back.

Asha’s dark red eyes glinted dangerously in the sun. Her hair, the color of a Ninetail’s fur, shimmered healthily, giving her an almost haloed appearance. It was ironic, considering she was the furthest thing from holy. Her paws made no noise on the pavement, not that it made a difference – the sound of life on the docks rose over pretty much everything. Her soft white pants whispered about her furred ankles and her tight white tube top clung to her body, ending just above her belly button. Asha had little to no modesty.
Zeke, her loyal, faithful, and much-loved Crobat, was perched on her shoulder, his shredded and scarred wings folded up as usual. When the sound of the Poochyena and the strange-looking teenager hit his hypersensitive ears, he bared his fangs, “Idiot children,” he hissed in Asha’s ear.
Asha laughed, reaching up a pale hand to rub his purple belly, “Oh hush, Zeke, I’m sure they don’t realize how immature they sound,” she said with a smirk, just loud enough for the girl to be able to hear. She pushed her cream-colored hair back over her shoulders and her eyes glittered as she turned away from the Poochyena and his trainer, uninterested.
But the other Pokemon at the Ninetails ‘morph’s feet, a large Electabuzz, let out a growl. --They be makin’ too much noise!-- she said in her sassy New Yorker accent, “Oi! Shut yer damn trap, pipsqueak!” the electric Pokemon called to the Poochyena, who was bothering her the most with his yapping and growling. Unafraid of a battle, Plug the Electabuzz took a few angry steps towards the girl and her Pokemon, her black eyes boring into the Poochyena’s head.
Asha sighed in annoyance and turned back around, “Plug!” she snapped, eyes flashing, “Get back here!” The Electabuzz snorted and ignored her master, intent on a battle, and the Ninetails ‘morph hissed much like her Crobat had done minutes earlier and took a few steps towards her own Pokemon, intending to stop her. She didn’t want to deal with a dead girl and an annoying Poochyena on her hands in a busy area.
((Hooray for a crappy post! *cheers* T.T))

Madd twisted her head around. The Poochenya still barking something about "ungrateful little humans from hell.", all of his comments fell on deaf uncaring ears. Raising one slim eyebrow Madd smirked. "I really do not see tha' is any of your business ya dock trollop-- By the way eavesdropping is a very rude way to occupy ya time." Sure hiting things iwth bats, stealing, and using a Poochenya renowned for his viciousness were underhanded, but at least it wasn't a lazy hobby like eavesdropping. Leaning back against the open crate Madd stuck her hands in he pockets. Her right hand ascended, in it a cigerette and a lighter, with one depth mov of her fingertips she set the little toxin stick aflame, and layed it in the corner of her mouth. The obtrusion to her voice slurred her words ever so slightly.
The Poochenya finally shut his trap, and turned towards the Electabuzz. <Just who do think you're talking to ya frizzled up old bag!?> Yazu's face contorted into a snarl, and he began to rush forward, Madd's boot grindng him to a halt in the dust. Whirling around he found his teeth scraping useless against the leather of her boots. In no way did he show the pain now coursing through his tail, and rear end.
Madd glanced at Zeke, even she had some form of morals, there was no way the Poochenya was allowed to eat a invalid. "A veteran hmm?" THis was directed at the Crobat perched on Asha's shoulder. Twisting her head skyward, the former Rocket member watched as a crowd of Swablu was chased through the skys by a wild Skarmory.
On her shoulder the SLugma nodded a hello to Asha and her pokemon. <Yo! Pretty day today 'uh?> The odd mixture of city, and dropping constatanants sounded quite odd in the mouth of a baby, esecially when the SLugma;s voice resembled the sound thick soup makes hitting a bowl. Orm ore accurately, hte sound of shifting lava.
Madd watched the Electabuzz grow nearer, and wished her old pokemon hadn't been stolen by that damnable B.U.G. They would show her a thing or two. Being careful to keep the Poochenya pinned by the tail, the girl took two steps forward, behind her googles both of her orange eyes flashed furiously. Narrowed to slit like states. "Were you thinkin' about making us shu' up Plug? I really do not think tha' is a wise decision on your part." Sure the Electabuzz was almost level 80 but Madd, was literally insane, and if you dealt in fights, you could guarantee she would join in; and win most of the time. <Yazu..shush.> THis was grounded out in pokemon, and the Poochenya for once listened.

Asha ignored the girl's words, her red eyes instead swerving to follow the path of her cigarette. The Ninetails 'morph's lip twitched slightly, along with her fingers, and the craving to smoke herself rose up in her body like a burning fire. Her hand snaked its way to the waistband of her pants, but her cigarettes weren't there.
They weren't there! With a snarl, Asha looked around the ground by her feet and behind her. The pack had been in her waistband when she had left the Headquarters - where the hell were they now?!
Plug let out a snarl of her own, much like her master, and lunged forward to attack the Poochyena, her antennae sparking with furious electricity. Luckily for Yazu, Asha pulled the Electabuzz's Pokeball out and had her sucked back into it before the electric Pokemon reached the dark one.
"Idiot." she muttered, not in the greatest mood now that she knew she couldn't smoke.
Zeke gave the human girl a baleful stare, his dark eyes veiled and cold, and didn't answer her. He didn't like to acknowledge that he could no longer fly, the idea hurt him deeper than any insult could, especially considering flying was a pride of all Crobats.
"Shut your mouth, bitch!" Asha suddenly snarled, ferocious and furious. She knew Zeke's weakness, and she leapt to defend his honor - of course she didn't realize that Maddie probably hadn't meant it as an insult. But that's how Asha took it, and now she stood with her fists clenched and a madness making her vision go red.
Zeke shuffled around on her shoulder, nipping gently at her ear, --Let's not start a fight, Asha,-- he warned. Of course, her voice of reason. Letting out a stiff breath from between her clenched teeth, Asha flared her nostrils as the scent of all the wondrous chemicals packed in the tobacco hit her nose.
"I-I mean..." she muttered through clenched jaws, "Could I buy a cigarette from you?" she asked bitterly.
She would never apologize for what she said, the girl didn't deserve that. But Asha was willing to actually buy a smoke from her instead of just beating her up and taking the whole pack. Petty thievery wasn't on her agenda today.
((;; Jeez, Asha has anger isssuuuuuuueesss, I didn't see that coming o.o))

Madd watched with a raised eyebrow as the girl let out a snarl, and began searching along the pier frantically. Reaching up to her mouth she took the cigarette out, and tapped it with her fingers. This sent a wave of ashes to the water nearby. The ripples called up a pack of Carvanha. Turning to stare at them Madd chuckled to herself. "Here he comes." A large blue fin was cutting through the water, that of a Sharpedo. Then like a bullet he was among the Carvanha, sadly he didn't eat anyone, instead it seemed as if he was trying to scare them. "Oh well thats no fun you big water chicken." Tuning back with a stomp of her heel Madd turned back towards her company, her muscles stiffening. Someone was in ab ad mood.
Maddie showed no sign of fear, and narrowed her eyes at Asha. Enigma had always said showing any kind of fear gave people a chance to lord it over you. She was servant to none-- "And if I do not wan' to? After all I gave him a compliment. Also Unlke you I do not have canine ears, so you really shoul' make sure your insults match the person." Well to her the comment had been a compliment w, but tis jumpy little whore had taken it as an insult, of course there was probably a reason for that.
Yazu stared up angily at the general, his blue eyes flashing angrily. No one talked to his Madd like that! <TOrned wing..elder...Veteran my ass Madd.> He growled in Pokemon, causing a kick from his "trainer". Madd's voice rang out calm, and steady. "Shut up--whatever did that must have had it in for him--you ever try and de-wing a flying pokemon? It's hard. NAd I don't mean like that Pidgey you ate." The Poochenya growled, and snapped at her boot again, this time Madd completely ignored him. These boots were baby fang proof.
That Crobat deserved a little bit of resepct. After all for it to still be alive.
Madd glanced down at the cigarrete smoldering to a stubb in her mouth. Then her orange eyes switched back up to Asha. Withdrawals? She knew what that was like, not that it made any difference in how she acted. To her it wasn't odd at all to walk towards the girl, pull out a pack of cigarettes, open it and hand one to Asha. Most would have bee nafraid to walk towards someone who had been that angry just a few minutes ago, but most people aren't Madd Maddie. "There. D'ya need anymore?" After all in her vest she had hidden two or three packs, she could spare a few.
Like a odd guardog Yazu walked beside her, his mane stiffened, and all of his teeth bared. Oddly enough it made him elss intimidating. The silver stud in his ears sent silver waves of light flashing into the water below.

Asha's snarl turned to a smirk at the girl's response. She certainly had guts, standing up to a Pravus Commander - though Asha doubted the teenager knew who she was messing with.
Zeke's fangs glinted in the sunlight as he bared them at the Poochyena, "Come up here and say that again, you son of a bitch, and I'll show you just how old I am!" he hissed in perfect - if a bit growly - human speech. He didn't like this Pokemon and his trainer, the dog was immature and stupid, and the girl had insulted his master. If only he could still fly...
Asha had to fight back another furious canine response when Maddie mentioned "de-wing"ing a flying Pokemon. Insensitive ass.
But of course, her expression turned from a hateful one to a mildly surprised one when the girl handed her a cigarette. Asha reached out a pale hand and took it between her fingers, smirking, "I can never get enough - could I just buy the rest of your pack?" she asked, pulled a five dollar bill out of the waistband of her pants and holding it out to the girl. It was a little much to pay, but she figured it was a nonchalant way of... not quite apologizing, but remedying her earlier behavior. "Thanks,"
She was starting to like this girl more every minute - she had the same ferocity and hatred in her that Asha knew burned in her own veins.
Bringing the one cigarette to her lips, she pulled a match from her - you guessed it - waistband and struck it on her teeth (it had taken her years as a teen to perfect that skill) to light it before bringing the flame to the end of the cigarette. She sucked in, drawing that sweet smoke into her lungs and letting it sit there for a few moments before exhaling through her nose.
God, how she loved it.

The Poochenya, rolled his eyes and sauntered off, biting back a extremely rude comment. Although he did mumble part of it on his way out: <Cantankerous old bat...Of course I am a son of a bitch....hmmph> Was all that was audible. On the boat they were carrying a few more items from the region Maddie and the Poochenya had formerly called home. Most of it uninteresting like furniture, but then a bat made its way into the spotlight. The Poochenya sniffed in deeply, and his tail started to wag. They hd hung it on the bike's handlebars and here it was! That dent had come from a especially touchy Shroomish, the blood, and giant chip missing from the very end had come from Bug's head. At the thought of the bright eyed, silver haired boy the Poochenya started growling, and then snarling. Though he had never met him exactly, he had heard the anger in Madd's vocie when she talked aout him. That alone was enough to make Yazu despise that son of a bitch.
Maddie shrugged, and tossed the rest of the pack to her. Reahing out she took the five dollars, sticking it in the breast pocket of her vest. "I really should stop..My uncle would kill me. He says drugs muddle the senses and the mind--of course If I listened to him--well..I wouldn't me myself." Almost as if to accent her rebelious side she took a long lungful of toxin filled smoke into her mouth, then blew circles of some somke into the air, trying her best to hide the flames that accompanied them. "Whatever--I have enough packs already." Then she remembered her Slugma, as she lifted her hand to hrer shoulder Mafi snuggled into it. <I'm MAFI BY THE WAY. YO! Ho' ya doin'?> It was rather cute watching the little fire type trying to imitate her trainer's expression.
The Poochenya's absense waso nly noted as a period of blissful peace.
Madd wiped her hand acros sher forehead, removing her leather jacket. Her sleeveless vest soon foloowed, leaving on;y the dark tanktop with the low back her well toned muscles were nwo showed off. Somehow she kept her cigarette in herm otuh through all this. "I used to be abl to do that with my teeth bu--" Thn a loud baring started from the ship.
<THE BAT! MADDIE ITS THE BAT!> Yazu was practically giving himself a heart attack, and making enough racket to wake the dead.
Without thinking Madd turned around, exposing the nast white R carved into her shoulder. Which was commonly known as a symbol. "SHUT THE HEL U-- MY BAT. Bring it here yazu." The Poochenya ignored her and sat down. His nose thrust in the cool salty air.

Zeke bared his fangs at the Poochyena's retreating back, imagining how nice it would be to chew his eyes out.
Asha, at Maddie's comment, snorted. Drugs? Cigarettes weren't drugs, they were merely a delicious amusement that happened to give some people bad side effects She didn't say anything, however - let the girl have her thoughts, it didn't matter. What made the Pravus General quite curious were the flames she could see, flickering just inside the girl's mouth. The smell was easy to detect, especially for Asha, being a fire Pokemon 'morph herself, and she raised an eyebrow, remembering to ask the girl about it later.
The sight of the young Slugma on Maddie's shoulder (she had noticed it before, but it hadn't caught her attention until now) pushed a small smile onto Asha's face. Young Pokemon were funny creatures, especially this one, that seemed to eager to be like her master. "Nice to meet you, Mafi, I'm Asha. I'm fine, and you?" she said in a polite, not unfriendly tone. If she ever had a soft spot, it was Pokemon.
After a period of silence, Asha was about to make an excuse for having to leave on business or something equally untrue when Yazu started his yapping again. Her red eyes flashed to the dog Pokemon, standing on the docks and looking like he was having a seizure. Her expression went from -_- to a much more surprised, and disgusted look when she saw the R on Maddie's shoulder.
She was a part of Team Rocket? The girl didn't seem so weak and stupid as to be in that band of morons, Asha couldn't see why she would bear their emblem. Her eyes narrowed, but once again, she said nothing but made a mental note to ask Maddie about it once her Pokemon was put under control.
Zeke wasn't liking the barking at all. Yes, he was a bat, what the hell did that have to do with anything? The Crobat was about to make a mean comment when he realized the dog was talking about something else. "Your bat?" he inquired in human speech, looking very much unamused.

Madd raised a eyebrow at Asha's very unophsiticated snort. "Did I le' a Tauros in or do you like soundin' like one?" The girl inquired, her lips raised in a slight smirk. Her cigarette was balanced on her lip alone. That still didn't stop it from obscuring the above words slightly. A wave crashed into the pier, sending up a wave crested in whtie sparay, the wave seemed to dislike the smell of smoke. A fine coat of mist descended over Maddie, and her cigarette, fogging her googles in dew, and sending up a large puff of dying smoke from the deathstick in her mouth. Ripping it from her mouth, the youth threw it into the waves, not caring about the stupid fish that came up and tried to devour it.
The Slugma's eyes widened, and she bobbed up and down happily on her trainer's ; or mother's shoulder. <She understood me--see!> Madd rolled her eyes, and nodded the affirmative. <Nice to meetcha my homedog! I am A-OKAY! Thanks for asking bout me!> Then the little lava pokemon, snuggled into Madd's neck, raising a cloud of steam , as the two heated entities connected. With a look of annoyance Madd grabbed Mafi, and dropped her onto the ground. Then she began walking towards the boat, her steel tipped boots clicking on the wood of the pier.
"Yazu--I am going to take that bat, and show you why I adore tha' damn thin' more then your ugly face--if you don't bring it here!" he Poochenya raised a eyebrow, and barked outsomething much beyond the point of rude. Dropping the vest to the ground, the former Rocket member ran up the ramp to the bboat, and reached for the bat, only to find Yazu's teeth buried in her hand. Lifting both at the same time she danged the Poochenya over the boat's rail. "Yes--this beat up ol' thing is my baby. I've had this thing for years." If the bite inflicted by the Poochenya hurt, Madd gave no outward signs.
Bringing her hand inward, she used her left hand, and pinched the Poochenya's nose until he let go. Then with a growl, and a stomp to the dog's tail she began the walk down the ramp; a growl emanated from behind her. Picoting on her foot, she used her hand, and open palm to slam the flying canine to the ground.
Pretending he wasn't there, she nodded to Mafi, who was still sitting in the spot she had been left in. Then she turned to Asha, and held out the bat so the other morph could have a closer look.
As she waited she questioned: "Do you know of a garage, I could hold this ting, until I find someplace for it?" Or a storage facility? Like hell she was just going to leave it out in the rain. That thing had taken forever to legitimately buy. There was no way she was going to let it tun into a pile of red dust. "Or know of anywhere I could ask--preferably a joint with food?" She added after a few seconds, even as she did so, she was debating on lighting up once again.
(YAY RANDOM, and CRAPPEH)[/size]
