Chii ran towards a medium sized rock that was resting by a small pavement of stones. She pulled out a map and closely observed it because she wasn't used to the way this town was set up. She was from Furnace Town and this place seemed more serene and calm. As she looked on the map she saw that the house she was looking for was right here in her face and she walked up to the door. She noticed the paper that had a list of some Pokemon that she could obtain as a starter.
"Nothing can replace my Vulpix...but it wouldn't mind to get another Pokemon for Vulpix to train with. Maybe she'll be nicer to other Pokemon if she has a Pokemon friend and teammate."
She noticed the other sign and did as followed and knocked on the door making it loud enough to hear but not rude enough rush someone to the door. As she waited for someone to answer it, she looked over the starter list. She saw the only Pokemon she might enjoy.

Ooc: Let the trial modding... Begin! /Ooc
There was a pause lasting a few moments as Chii stared at the list of starter pokemon taped to the outside of the door. After a couple seconds, the handle turned and the door swung inward with only a slight creak of often-used hinges. Interestingly, there didn't seem to be anyone standing behind said door, however. There was no one there who might have opened it, and no one apparent in the room beyond either. Well, not until the door was pushed open more, in any case. At that point, a desk came into view with a single light hanging above it. Behind the desk sat an alakazam, quietly sipping coffee while reading what appeared to be today's newspaper. Near his head, a rubik's cube floated, clicking softly as it rearranged itself in the air. In less than thirty seconds, it was completed and stacked atop the small pile of cubes that had already accumulated on the desk. Another one (from the other side of the table) rose into the air a moment later and began shifting squares around again.
From the back, a clicking sound could be heard. "Bill, did you turn off the cirquit breaker again?" No response from anyone else in the building. The voice came again. "Bill?" Still no answer. "Bill, I really would appreciate some help back here. I can't see a thing, and there are boxes strewn all ove- Ouch!" A thump, followed by a clattering as several items fell to the floor, was heard from the back room, and suddenly a light flicked on in the back, swiftly followed by the white lights hanging from the ceiling in the lab proper. A moment or two later, a slightly disheveled-looking man appeared at the door in the back of the lab. "I'm glad you're so eager to help, Bill." he said, his voice just a little sour. "That's what I'm here for." the alakazam replied in a low voice. "Scramble the rubik's cubes again."
But by this time, Professor Mahogany was no longer paying attention to the pokemon. He had glanced toward the door and seen the girl standing there, finally. "Oh, by the way... There's a "trainer" here to see you." the alakazam said, setting down the last finished rubik's cube. The Professor ignored him this time, however, instead rushing over to her and offering his hand. "I'm terribly sorry for ignoring you." he said, even though he hadn't actually been ignoring her at all. "That was very rude. Please forgive me?" It was a question more than a statement, and yes, he was genuinely asking for her forgiveness.

As she saw the door open and no one was there at the time, she merely took a cautious step backwards and looked around. As she glanced around inside the cabin, she noticed an Alakazam reading today's newspaper, drinking coffee and solving Rubik's cube using its strong telepathic powers it had. As the Professor came over to her she looked into his eyes, but but befuddled her was the fact that she felt no harm was done. He asked for her forgiveness, but Chii didn't notice anything wrong at all. She didn't like human interactions much with anyone but the Professor may be able to help her out about her situation in becoming a better coordinator and battler altogether in general.
"It's okay, but I understand how busy you can get watching over different types of Pokemon and researching about them. It must be enjoyable but the least."
She said with a small smile on her face. She almost had forgotten the reason she came here until she glanced back over to the paper that was posted onto the wall with the list of starter Pokemon. She was hesitant to ask about something right away but now seemed like a pretty good time to ask just in case she had more questions about the Pokemon she'll receive later on. As she had her Vulpix in her proper Pokeball where she kept it always, she focused back onto the Professor instead of the Alakazam. She asked her question straight forward with no hesitation.
"Oh! I almost forgot! I was told that I could come here and receive a starter Pokemon. That's here, right?

Professor Mahogany visibly relaxed a little as Chii gave him her forgiveness, and he nodded earnestly as she remarked about the nature of his work. "Yes, especially nowadays - some of the behavioral research being published ties directly into-" He was cut off as Bill loudly cleared his throat, staring at the professor from behind the desk. Professor Mahogany glanced back at the alakazam with a bit of an irritated look, but that quickly turned to simple disappointment in the face of the withering glare the psychic-type was tossing in his direction. He turned back to the girl, clearing his throat in a little cough before he spoke again. "Yes, well... I've forgotten to introduce myself! I am Professor Mahogany." he shook her hand eagerly.
As she asked about a starter pokemon, Bill snorted from a little further back in the lab, and the professor turned around to see that he had stood up and was walking off into the back, where several shelves of boxes stood neatly lined up. Bill hated dealing with novice trainers - or just about anyone else, for that matter - but his reaction was nothing unusual, so Mahogany didn't bother following him into the back or calling him out again. "You'll have to excuse Bill." he said, turning back to the girl again. "He's been a little irritable lately... More so than usual, that is..." he trailed off a little bit as he tried to remember the question he was supposed to be answering, but quickly got himself back on track with the reminder that she was a new trainer. "Yes, right. You're here in search of a starter pokemon, ready to explore the wider world. Yes, this is the place you would be looking for, in that regard."
He paused for a moment, having noticed the red and white ball at her side. "Ah, but you already have a pokemon?" he inquired, pointing towards the pokeball with one finger. "I'm afraid I can only give out pokemon to new trainers who haven't caught one of their own yet. Of course you're free to use the computer here to store any pokemon you may catch, or heal them after battle, but I can't give you a second one." he frowned, but not in annoyance. Professor Mahogany greatly enjoyed seeing the faces of new trainers as they left the lab with their new partner, and to be honest he was a little disappointed that this one wouldn't be getting her first here. Nonetheless, he was sure he could help her along her way in some form. "I would be happy to give you a starter pack," he said, gesturing to the back room, where many of the cardboard boxes held white containers of items, which were usually given out to new trainers along with their first pokemon. "Would you accept that, and my apology that I can't offer you a second pokemon?" he asked.

Even though she wasn't receiving another Pokemon, she was glad she could always have her Vulpix with her and not have to worry much about another Pokemon just in case Vulpix were to get jealous. Vulpix was her destined partner as it seems and it always be like that to her. Well, she'll have other Pokemon in her team but still, she would raise Vulpix to become a Ninetails and have it be the powerhouse of the team.
"I would like a starter pack, uh... it's okay, I would have guessed that I would have already had a starter Pokemon...I can't wait to finally go out and train my Pokemon and catch another one soon! Thanks for your current help though Professor! "
Chii had her back pack but nothing was really in there at all. Nothing but a book to write in, and a bottle of water. She gave a sigh, she didn't feel this happy since she first met Vulpix.
