They arrived just as the sun began it’s descent. As they cleared the edge of the forest, the setting sun cast a fiery glow over the largest number of people they had ever seen (well, as far as they could remember at least). At first they had been hesitant, not knowing how to act or what to do. However curiosity soon overcame them, and they began the walk into the unknown.
It was now several hours past nightfall, most of the town’s inhabitants where safely within their homes. However there was still one light to be seen, a small fire atop a rise at the edge of the town. Beside it sat a boy, two pokemon asleep next to him. Max yawn as he grabbed another chunk of wood and threw it onto the fire. Fang was lying next to him and Angel was curled up next to the fire, both having gone to sleep some time ago. However he couldn’t drift off, he was too busy thinking of everything that had happened.
When they’d arrived, none of them had known what to think. They couldn’t remember ever having seen so many people and pokemon. The buildings were a new (old?) experience as well. For some reason everyone kept calling him a ‘poor orphan child’, and kept giving him (what he later found out was) money. They told him that he should go the big building they called a pokemon center and have the lady their check Fang and Angel. The nurse there told him that they were in surprising well condition for orphans, and for some reason seemed surprised when he told her that they were his. She then offered to let them stay the night, but being enclosed was making him uncomfortable and he told her that they’d just stay outside. Before he left she asked him if he was a trainer, when he didn’t know what she meant she told him that he should go to the next town and talk to someone called ‘the professor’. He got the directions and thanked her, heading out to where he was now.
His stomach suddenly began to growl, knocking him out of his reverie. Grabbing a few nearby sticks, he speared the rest of the fish on them and placed them over the fire. With that done grabbed the bag with their supplies in it and sat back, just gazing at the stars and munching on a few berries..
