(I am soooo sorry for the wait Core--PM me if I go over 2 days without replying to your post--Sorry again.)
The Sentret blinked as he looked at the Mime Jr, his bland face accented by bits of confusion. <If you say it's a good question. Then again why wouldn't it be a bad question--I really do not believe there is such a thing as a bad question..> At lease he figured that was what he believed. Shrugging his thin shoulders he waited for the baby to speak again. His position exuding a sense of inner calm, and not of awkwardness as most others would emanate if they were standing in the midde of a path, waiting for another to speak.
<I never said you didn't appreciate it. But maybe you should thank the bush.> The bush was giving up its children in a way, the berries if left uneaten would drop to the ground and sprout new bushes, and by not protesting the taking of the berries the tree was being very kind. At least that was how the phiolosophical Sentret felt, and he belieed that trees and plants could protest if they didn't like the actions someone took.
The Sentret winced as the half eaten berry dropped to the ground. Then nodded as it was picked back up and devoured. He disliked waste--not that he'd protest anyone wasting anything. That wasn't his job.
The Sentret watched as she drifted back and forth, obvious nervous. The answer truly didn't matter to him, and it wasn't wrong or right..so why did she care. Then she finally spouted out part of an answer. <Yes. You would learn either way.> So was her goal to learn More, or less? Well she was now just as indecisive as him, and unlike most others he wouldn't force her to make a decision. Of course seconds later she asked him to "surprise her", but with only two results would either be at surprising? Oh well, who was he to be nitpicky about word choice.
The Sentret decided to go first. <My turn ..> It was in fact the first thing he had decided on, besides taking a walk, and eating the berries. Hopping slowly forward his eyes trailed skyward. It was almost as if he was taking a walk, and not fighting. Then with a sudden burst of speed he leaped forward nad brought his right paw swinging towards the Mime Jr's face, the Sentret slowed down to a crawl as he neared his target. After all if he hit too hard , he could actually hurt her; she was only a baby after all.

ooc;; Oh, it's okay! I wasn't worried about it at all. And plus, in my opinion, I think the last bit of the post was cute. xD bic;;
<Really?> Feign wondered aloud, placing a rounded hand to her bottom lip as she contemplated the intelligent thing the Sentret said. She nodded thoughtfully, as if she actually understood what he was saying. She really had no clue how there couldn't be a bad question, because some pokemon just seemed but instead of questioning it any further, she had simply nodded and agreed with the pokemon standing in front of her, letting that part of their conversation slide past.
<Oh, well that's certainly a good idea!> Mime Jr. smiled brightly and nodded vigorously. She quickly turned to the bush, gently floating a bit closer to it. <Thank you very much, bush!> She giggled, letting her hand brush against a few leaves lightly.
As Rey continued to watch the little scene play out from his spot on the ground, his eyebrow raised questioningly when his pokemon went to the bush and... spoke to it. He wondered if he had yet another "brilliant" pokemon on his hands, and again if Feign was the right choice for this encounter. A smile slowly forced its way onto his lips, though, when he realized that these two were actually getting along, and not at each others throats as Smoochum had been with that Rattata.
Feign looked back to Sentret and nodded one more time; he was right yet again. She'd learn something either way, no matter if she was the victor, or the loser. <Okay...> she said cautiously, tensing when Sentret said it was his 'turn'.
Mime Jr. readied herself when the Sentret lunged at her, unsure what to do once this started. After all, this was her first battle. As Sentret neared, Feign simply... stood, well, floated, there. Although Sentret was lowering his attack-force considerably, Feign was still flung to the side. She landed on the ground with a soft thump, but quickly rose, returning to her floating position.
Rey, still sitting comfortably, bit his lip. This was apparently, what Feign had wanted, yet he was still worried that his little baby would get hurt, even if Sentret was holding back. "Feign, you okay?" he asked warmly, wondering if this was such a good idea.
Feign simply bit her lip as Rey had done, but soon nodded with a little giggle. "Mime, mime!"
Rey sighed lightly, holding back a concerned smile. "Alright, then. Try using tickle." An attack like tickle seemed fitting for a pokemon such as Feign, plus it would lower Sentret's attack and defense if it was successful. Not that it would contribute to the battle as much, but perhaps it would give Feign a slight confidence-boost? He was hoping.
Feign finished up her giggle and nodded at Rey's command and suddenly lurched toward Sentret, arms outstretched. When she was in reach, her hands traveled to the sentret's stomach as she began her tickling technique. She couldn't picture a laugh escaping her care-free opponent, but at least she could say she was trying.

<SUre.> The Sentre mumbled back. He hated being asked opinionated questions. It was no one elses concern what he ought, and what he thought should not be pushed on them. Even if they asked for his opinion on a matter in some ways it felt like he was forcing their minds to think a different way. When the Mime Jr. let the matter drop he was tempted to nod his head in praise. Then again she might take the gesture as a sign for her to continue to speak, or ask anothr question. This child sure was full of inquiries, a lot more then he was used to anyway. (much worse the second time through)
When the little Mime Jr. showed her gratitude to the tree the Sentret felt his thin mouth twitch back lsightly, in a very small smile. Almost unoticeable. Of course his voice held none of the praise visible in the smile, and was the same monotonous tone as before. <I am sure she feels appreciated now.> She? Well of course the bush was female, after all most males didn't constantly carry their children with them. Since the mothers did so it was obvious that all berry bushes were female, of course where they got the male half for making berry bushes he had no idea, nor did he care, the personal lives of plants had naught to do with him.
The sentret watched through lidded eyes as the Mime Jr. thumped into the ground. Mayhaps he had hit with more force then he meant to? But as soon as the thought came to his head it was gone. The thing was back on her feet again. Watching her unperturbed he heard the human call out the attack. The Mime Jr. floated towwards him arms outstretched. Yet even as they dug into his skin and began to move he showed no sign of changing. His face remained like stone, realizing he was supposed to react in someway he let out a: <hahaha> Of course it was obviously faked laughter. The Sentret then swung his arm out, not even putting enough force behind the blow to kick a pebble.

<I sure hope so,> Feign said thoughtfully as she glanced over to the berry bush. She had never actually thanked anything in her life, let alone something that couldn't speak. But, of course, there is always a first time for everything. And, even after she voiced her thanks, she could honestly say she felt pleased with herself. For some reason. But, she wasn't sure why, exactly. Maybe it was only because this Sentret was rubbing off on her personality. Or, perhaps she was subconsciously mimicking Sentret, not meaning to. But what makes it a she? she wondered, but quickly shrugged inwardly, figuring it had something to do with how the bush had 'children'; in other words, berries.
As Feign "attacked" Sentret, her face held great concentration, which quickly changed to frustration when she realized that it wasn't having any effect. Sentret looked the same as ever! Stone features, uncaring, etc. How was this not working? She would have been confused as well, if Sentret hadn't laughed. But, when he did, she stood back, clapping her hands together as she giggled. The laugh didn't sound too convincing, but she didn't really mind; it seemed to have worked well enough, so what more could she ask for?
From his spot on the ground, Rey just shook his head, fighting a smile. He could easily see that Sentret was faking it; anyone that was watching, even from a distance, would probably be able to tell. But, his little baby pokemon seemed to not notice in the least bit. Well, I suppose she's having fun... he thought, situating his legs so he was now sitting Indian-style.
Mime Jr., actually stopping her little giggle fit, noticed Sentret coming for her. Instead of letting the arm hit her, she lithely danced out of the way, smiling as she did so. Before she had time to do anything else, Rey was already speaking.
"Feign, use confusion." He eyed the two pokemon, currently wondering if his own could even pull off an attack like that. She was so young; would she be able to use it correctly without any practice at all? He shrugged to himself. That didn't seem to matter at the time. Sentret was going easy, so this was as good a time as any to simply sit back and learn.
Feign glanced at Rey for a moment, but quickly nodded, looking back to Sentret. It's my turn now! she squeed happily in her mind. She closed her eyes for a split-second, and when she opened them again they were alight with a neon-blue glow. The glowing enlarged a bit, making her eyes seem much larger, then began expanding rapidly toward Sentret.

<I have heard others wish they could talk. But if you hope so--then she probably does feel appreciated.> Trees, and bushes, not the others. The plant pokemon were the ones he had heard say it the most. Soem of them believed that plants were THEIR ancestors, and wanted to know whaat it was like to be a true bush or tree. Of course since plants coudn't voice their opinions in a comprehensible way their questions went almost solely unanswered. A few of the less sane interrupted the rustling as words, and ran away with their own translations.
The Sentret abrubtly closed his mouth as th Mime Jr. stepped away. Then she clapped, of course she really hadn't done anything, make him think her even less strong, and less likely to use full force maybe. But neither of those possibilities had been anywhere near the middle of his list, much less the top.
The Sentret turned his eyes to the human as the human shook his head with a smile. Why such a reaction--it was a paternal one. Or at least it seemed that way. Turning his lidded colbalt eyes from Rey his gaze flickered back to the Mime Jr. Who was obviously still happy about her last victory, which he found odd. But who was he to argue?
The Sentret watched as the mime Jr. bounded away. His precariously balanced body showing no change in emotion. Must would have been impressed that she had moved, or angered that tey had missed. To the Sentret it just happened, and there was no reason to feel any different afterwards. It diidn't matter how he felt, he had still missed, and her still dodged. Getting emotional over what couldn't be changed seemed like a complete wase of energy that could be used for soemthing else, a good example , attacking again, or in his case taking a walk.
Then the brief respite alloted by the giggling disappeared. Now te Mime Jr. was looking at him. A odd neon glow in her eyes. Then her neon eyes seemed to expand, and project out of her eyes at him. So this was a confusion. Blinking he shook the dazed feelign away. Then realizing it was an attack hbe fell backward, his warm brown coat brushing the soft grass beside the path. The attack had ccaused his head to buzz uncomfortably but nothing major. So the falling down was a act, and completely unaccurate. Sitting up the Sentret raised himself back up on his tail. Bobbing back and forth, the stripes on his tial melding together into one chocolate blur. Then he hopped forward, and swiped lazily out at the Mime jr. <Oh no--an attack--which you should dodge-->

Mime Jr. looked to Sentret as he spoke, nodding along. She knew, or figured, really, that the plant couldn't hear a word she was saying, so she wouldn't be able to feel appreciated. In her short time on this earth she had never heard of a plant talking or understanding things, but of course, she could be wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, so she would simply have to be excused from that.
Feign floated back a bit, waiting for a result of her first-ever confusion attack. When Sentret fell backward to the ground, the little pokemon's eyes widened considerably. Was that supposed to happen? Well, she figured it was, since Sentret had basically done the same thing by "punching" her. So... it was fair, right? That's what she kept telling herself; this was a fight, after all. However, she was reassured once Rey began speaking again.
"Good job, Feign. Keep that up," he said with another smile. He wasn't sure if this was what to expect; was she supposed to be stronger than this? Because obviously, this Sentret was a good actor. Better than Feign, perhaps. But, he reminded himself, she did just hatch. I guess it's to be expected.
Feign was able to spread a grin across her face and nod, letting Rey know that she appreciated that comment. She hurriedly looked back to Sentret, the smile still apparent on her face. Though, it faded once he spoke. Another attack, hm? Was he supposed to tell her that he was coming in for another attack? Either way, she was caught off guard. But, instead of getting hit, or even dodging like he advised, Mime Jr. closed her eyes and threw her hands in front of her face.
When she opened her eyes, there was a translucent barrier right in front of her, between her and Sentret. Of course, it could probably be broken by any pokemon stronger than her, but she didn't care. She didn't even know she could do that! <What...> she mumbled, placing a hand on this barrier. <That's interesting,> she said matter-of-factly, tilting her head slightly.
<That wasn't really supposed to happen,> she admitted with a slight apologetic tone, looking up at Sentret with an innocent face. She hurriedly moved from behind it; she wasn't going to have a battle where she simply hid! She would just be dragging things out, which was not a very smart thing to do.
Rey chuckled at his pokemon, noticing how confused she seemed. "Feign," he said, catching her attention. He finished up his chuckle and took a breath, sobering up. It shouldn't have been that funny, but for some reason, it was. "Try confusion again. Make it a big one, 'kay?"
Mime Jr. looked at her trainer, unsure of why he was laughing. Was something that funny? No matter. She'd simply do what he said, and attack. What else could happen? And with that thought, she nodded and closed her eyes. When she opened them, again, they were glowing, though this time it was a slightly brighter neon. The glowing grew yet again and flashed toward Sentret. She wanted to warn him of the attack and to tell him to get out of the way, just as he had done, but realized that probably wasn't smart if she was actually trying to hit him.

The Sentret watched as the baby's eyes widened. Was she concerned? If she was--she really wasn't the type that should be battling at all. Then again it wasn't his place to tell a human trainer that. They did as they pleased, what did thy care what a pokemon thought?
So the Sentret decided to pretend he hadn't seen her reaction. No change occured in his face, and his mouth remained closed.
Well at least the human was friendly. He did compliment his pokemon, the unobtrusive Sentret had seen quite a few humans strike their pokemon, because they had lost to a pokemon larger and stronger then them. As usual he didn't say anything to pokemon or trainer, it wasn't his place.
Now that she was grinning the Sentret felt much better. It showed that she was still game, and had appreciated the compliment. Franly he couldn't tell if their was anything behind it besides friendly praise.
The Sentret's weak scratch attack continued, wh ywas she so frightened? He had given her plenty of time to dodge. Then his paw hit a wall, it was see through, and glowed slightly blue, it was rather pretty. Of course the Sentret could care less about the barrier's beauty, the thing had hurt his paw! Blinking he tested it, and was glad he had put NO MORE force behind his attack, other wise he might have broke something. It was obvious he hadn't, his paws moved the same as always, quickly and fluidly. The shock of the battier and the slight sting had stopped him, but he gently prodded it a second time and it cracked. <Hmmm...it is.> Interesting anyway.
The Sentret nodded, was that an apology? of course judging by her shocked face it was obvious she hadn't MEANT for it to happen. Then the innocent creature moved out from behind it, behind or beside made no difference to him.
Then the battle started again. Frankly he didn't want to be dazed like last time, otherwise he migt not restrain himself. Closing his eyes he ignored the shrieking , and buzzing the ocnfusion caused in his brain. Deciding it was over he shot both of his eyes open, catching the tail end of it. With a shake of his head he threw himself to the ground. Letting out a fake groan of pain.
Sitting there for 3 seconds he quickly lurched back to his feet. Then hopped towards the Mime Jr. The Sentret ovrlooked the fact that he was supposed to be hurt, and kept his path straight and true. Stopping he threw a very lazy punch at the Mime Jr, his claws inside their sheaths. Feign needed more practice with her barrier. (Short XD)[/size]

ooc;; Okay, sorry for the delay! D: bic;;
Once Sentret's claw had hit the weak barrier, Feign appeared to be a bit surprised. Was it really that strong, and hard to break through? Of course, seeing as it was her own barrier, she figured it was strong enough to block anything. Her eyes moved to the now-cracked blockade. Then again, perhaps she was becoming a bit over confident. Or, perhaps she just had no clue what she was doing. Either way, she was having a bit of fun, so it was worth it.
Anyway, she had moved from behind it, just so she could make the battle a bit more... fair. If you could say that. And after attacking with confusion again, her eyes moved back to Sentret to gauge the outcome of her attack. A frown spread itself across Mime Jr.'s face when all Sentret did was brush the attack off with a shake of his head, when he threw himself to the ground, she felt a surge of excitement and new energy.
"Nice, Feign, good job," Rey said reassuringly, stifling yet another laugh. Sentret put on a good show, and he was certainly teaching Feign at the same time, so all was well.
Before she did anything else, Feign turned to her trainer and smiled sweetly. "Mime, mime, mime!" she called to him, and he smiled, then laughed as if he were amused. Perhaps Rey was having a better time than Feign with all of this.
"Turn around," the young man called, and the small pokemon obeyed, caught off guard by the sudden command. She was just in time to see Sentret hop back onto his feet. Unsurprisingly, she didn't notice that the raccoon pokemon didn't seem to be injured at all. In fact, she still thought that she was doing an excellent job. And, perhaps she was, if you considered throwing up weak barriers and hardly doing any damage an "excellent job".
"Try another barrier," Rey said simply, a thoughtful look upon his face. Maybe with a bit more work, she'd become better at it, and the barriers would become stronger over time. Well, over this amount of time, he was pretty positive it wouldn't be too much stronger. But, you had to start somewhere.
Instead of jumping out of the way or shielding her face with her hands, Feign kept her eyes open, a determined look stuck on her features. The mimic pokemon brought her hands in front of her body, waving each of them in small circles. The blue-tinted, translucent wall appeared again shortly after. <I hate hiding behind this thing,> she muttered, not caring if anyone else heard. Perhaps when she matured she'd understand the beauty of being able to avoid attacks this way, but for now, she liked being on the offensive, not the defensive.
Without much more thought, Feign floated backward, away from the barrier she created. <I wanted to attack,> she told Sentret with a pout. Would he be so angry if she decided to use confusion again? After all, technically, it wasn't her "turn". No matter, she told herself, closing her eyes. Again, when she opened them they were a neon blue. The light expanded, headed toward Sentret. Though, with the same attack over and over again, Sentret would probably be able to dodge the weak attacks no problem. However, Feign had no clue these things would become predictable. In fact, she couldn't even predict the punches Sentret threw at her.

The Sentret had slowed his raise, trying his best to make it look like he was tinking. The truth ws he didn't want a angry trainer chasing him because he had attakced the baby when it was not paying attention to the battle at hand. It seemed to last an eternity, the Sentret hopping back and forth restlessly seemed to last twice as long. First she dropped the barrier, looked at her trainer's smiling face, and then said something unintelligble. It finally took a order form her trainer to make her turn around, and time moved again, his movements were slow and sluggish as they were supposed to be.
Then the little thing erected another barrier. This time it seemed to be just a bit stronger, but not really enough to make a difference. Just as he readied for his second swing the Mime Jr. spoke up, and he decided he had to make some sort of comment. < But it hurt more if you don't.> The Sentret stated simply, pulling back his arm he paused. Off she went again, it was of the same nature as the first question but just reworded. <That is your issue, whether you want to attack or not is up to you.> Why was the babe telling him that? It had no bearing on the battle whatsoever.
The perplexed Sentret was to distracted by the odd statement to notice the glow in the Mime jr.'s eyes until he twisted his head and felt the buzzing start up again. It was louder then before. Shaking furiously he comopletely forgot about his assault on the wafer thin barrier and turned towards the Mime Junior. <You gave me a headache.> Unemotionally this was stated, a fact, not a warning. In fact it bothered him not a bit. Raising his paw he swug it downward, toward where the Mime Jr.'s cone shaped head sat. Yet unknown to him he had been distracted by the weak confusion, and all four of his rough , jagged claws were out. If they hit skin it would likel hurt quite a bit.

ooc;; Don't worry about it. It's fine. Bic;;
If the Sentret knew anything about Rey, which unfortunately he didn't, it was that Rey was slow to anger over just about everything. It wasn't that he didn't care, because it was quite the opposite; he cared about many things, however, he simply didn't show it. His parents had even wondered why he was so... bland about everything, but luckily for him, he hadn't had the time to worry about it, on account of his leaving.
"Feign," he called lightly, the smile still present in his voice, "don't let your guard down."
Feign rolled her eyes and smiled, but the boy didn't see it on account of her back was turned to him. A moment after this, her attention turned to Sentret as he spoke. So he was saying it hurt more if she didn't hide behind that thing? She considered it for a moment, then nodded slowly. That could possibly be true. However, she still disliked hiding behind it, so what should she do? Take Sentret's advice or just... tough it out?
His second statement caught her off guard. Was that her decision to make? She thought it was actually Rey's choice, but what Sentret said made sense also. <You make some good points,> she said, seemingly unsure of herself.
<I'm so-> She stopped herself from apologizing, figuring that wasn't something to be doing in a moment like this. Especially if she was under the risk of getting attacked again. She took Rey's words into consideration for once and finally agreed that the young man was right. She shouldn't let her guard down.
However, this was exactly what she was doing now. She was too busy thinking of previous words to notice Sentret coming toward her with one of his paws extended. She was unfortunately hit by this attack, and since Sentret's claws were extended as well, Feign was thrown forcefully to the ground. She shut her eyes gently, her head stinging painfully as she lay on the ground, wondering whether or not she should stand, or just... go to sleep.
"Feign!" Rey called, a slight panic present in his tone. He was halfway standing before he saw any further movement in his baby pokemon.
Feign's body was moving slowly, appearing as if she was attempting to stand. Or float, really. Her eyes fluttered open, though it really only looked as if she was confused.
"Can you stand?" Rey asked from his spot on the ground, still debating if he himself should stand. He wanted to pick Feign up and simply cradle her in his arms. A potion would certainly be needed after this.
Feign responded with something the boy was not expecting. Instead of speaking, the small pokemon giggled. She rose from the ground, a slim hand resting against her forehead. It already hurt. But maybe, she hoped, there'd be some sort of scar. That would certainly separate her from her twin. Though, that idea was laughable and probably wouldn't happen.
"Alright then," Rey said, watching Mime. Jr. as she got up. "Use confusion." He bit his lip lightly, concern written all over his face. He was certain this battle wouldn't last too much longer; Feign was obviously weakened from that attack. Should I bring out Mock after this? he wondered, but shook his head. He wasn't sure if Sentret would be able to stand another Mime Jr., let alone a twin.
Feign finally nodded. Instead of closing her eyes as she had done previously, the neon glow simply appeared, as if she was hardly concentrating. The blue extended toward Sentret, though this time it expanded at a slower pace, and wasn't near as bright as her previous attempts. It was considerably weaker, probably not much more than a time-waster.

The Sentret watched as the Mime Jr. smiled and rolled her eyes. Weren't being happy about something, and annoyed; as indicated by the rolled eyes. two very different things? The Sentret gave up debating over that one--they were his emotions not his, so she could react however she pleased about things. <Letting your guard down hurts as well.> As was shown by the first confusion attack, that one had actually bothered him.
The Sentret's eyes widened slightly the first true emotion he had showed the entire time he had known Feign and Rey <Really? I just state my mind.> Which was true, he never tried to make good points, or to give advice, he just spoke what was truly on his mind, of course when it came to fake battling like this he really tried his best to be leneient, and not do as his mind wanted. Which was what was his impulse.
The Sentret looked at his paw, and wathced as the little Mime Jr. was flung forcefully to the ground. Most would have been sorry--and some aprt of him was, but there wasn o point in apologizing for what he had already done. His claws retreated back into his paws with a soft "Chaok"m that wsn't going to happen again. As the Mime Jr.'s eyes closed he felt another twang of guilt through his body.
The Sentret watched as the Mime Jr. rose back up. A quiet giggle coming out of her mouth. So she was fine. Making no statement he watched as she tentatively put a hand to her aching forehead. This creature was odd--then again others had said that about him before as well. So it wasn't his palce to criticize her at all. No doubt her trainer would have something to say about her odd behavior, or what others thought was normal; behavior.
The Sentret had grown to dislike the word confusion. Rhe odd buzzig started in his head again, but it was nowhere near as loud. In fact it was rather soothing. Bouncing forward, extremely slowly he weaved his way towards the baby pokemon. Why hadn't the trainer said stop? In such a weak condition she shouldn't be play fighting anymore--then again that had nothing to do with him. Raising his paw upon reaching Fiegn he gently patted it down where her head should have been. Evn to the naiive little Psychic type this move had to be obviously fake. Unless her head hurt ---that bad. THis move wasn't designed to do anything, no it just made it seem like the battle had started back up; well really the faux battle where one side was in no way trying, except he was trying to lose. Or at least to weasel hs way out, not win though.

<That's true, too,> Feign said and nodded once. This Sentret really was smart. And of course, she appreciated the advice the pokemon was giving her. All the advice was definitely teaching her a lesson, and she'd know to use this in future battles. Plus, if she was thinking outside of the battle, she was gaining more experience than her sister, which was always a good thing.
<That sure is a good thing,> Feign said, smiling. Continuing, more so to herself, <You should do that all the time. I'm... learning. It's helping me.>
Feign watched the outcome of her attack tentatively. She knew this last attack was nowhere near her strongest, but then again, she wasn't feeling so well, so maybe she could use that as a type of excuse. But, then, she reminded herself, she shouldn't be making these types of excuses. Instead, she should be giving it her all no matter what. So what if her head hurt? She was supposed to be concentrating on attacking and dodging, not her newfound headache.
The little Mime Jr. tore herself from her thoughts as she began to realize her confusion attack had little to no affect on Sentret. She backed away slightly once she noticed the raccoon pokemon coming toward her with his paw outstretched. A flicker of what seemed to be a barrier appeared then, as if she was trying to avoid one last attack. However, a strong ringing in her head(not to mention the stinging from the claws having been involved) intensified then, forcing her to lose concentration. The barrier dropped as soon as her hands flew to her head, trying to cradle it, trying to make the headache go away.
Once the weak barrier was dropped, Feign was easily hit by the attack, and although it appeared as if she floated lightly to the ground, she landed with a quiet thud. The breathe was knocked out of her tiny body, and this time, she didn't bother to get up. Though, she signaled she was alright by crossing her arms over her chest.
Rey tilted his head slightly, unsure of his pokemon's actions. She was quite the strange one, as that was already obvious. The young man sighed, but stood none the less, taking the few steps over to Mime Jr. "You okay?" he asked soothingly, picking Feign up and doing just what he had wanted earlier; cradled her in his arms.
Feign nodded once, a glum look upon her face. Even though she told herself she'd be learning either way and not to be angry of whatever the outcome would be, it was still a small disappointment to lose a battle like that. Especially if her last attacked failed like it had.
With a tiny sigh, she peered down from her perch to Sentret, a smile slowly creeping its way over her pink face. <You're really good,> she said, squirming out of Rey's arms, floating down to ground level. She still hadn't reverted back to their lithe, dance-like movements, but she figured those would return as soon as she felt better. Her head still hurt, but now that she wasn't trying to use attacks, the ringing wasn't near as bad. <And you're really smart,> she added, nodding as if to confirm that fact.
Rey had no clue what his pokemon was saying to the Sentret, but he figured he may as well speak too. "Thanks for the... battle," he said sheepishly. He wasn't sure if you could even call it a battle, really. And he wasn't sure if Sentret would understand what he was saying, or if he even wanted to listen. "I really appreciate what you did for Feign..."

<I hope that's fairly obvious.> Letting your guard down was synonmous with lessening your amount of protection. TO the Sentret it was common sense to put two and two together, to know that lessening your protection and being hit hurt. The Sentret hardly ever defended himself though, so he really hsouldn't have been giving advice about that at all.
<Well you should think about all this for yourself.> The sage like Sentret stated when she was done. After all he didn't want her to change his mind , and go against what she thought just because she claimed he was a smart Pokeon. <Well--I guess you deserve a, You're welcome.> It had been quite a while since he had said those last two words, it was rather odd. It had been a while since someone had not been scared away, by the fact that he really didn't care for anything.
The Sentret tried to pull back his paws as the Mime Jr. threw her arms over he head. But to no avail, his paw thumpedi nto her softly, but in her current state that was enough to send her flying into the ground, and raising up a small poof of dust. The Sentret was mildly worried about the trainer being angry, and his eyes flickered uwpard. But when the Mime Jr. crossed her arms he decided she was alrighht, of course he ws still wary of the human loitering nearby.
When the human walked closer to pick up Feign, the Sentret hopped a few paces back. But it seemed the human was only concerned for the baby pokemon.
<Not really---> The Sentret was nowhere near as good at fighting as most pokemon on the route, for the most part he disliked battling. <If you say so...again.> The Mime. Jr had already complimented his intelligence, but the Sentret didn't let it go to his head. Not much really did. It wasn't that he was thick headed, it was just that most things seemed insignificant to him in the grand scheme of things.
The normal type turned towards Rey, and listened; his hooded eyes blinking as the human paused. <No problem.> Even if it had interuppted his walk-- <You're welcome human.> With a wave, and an od of his head the Sentret hopped off, occasionally throwing glances at the hurt little Mime Jr, he hadn't felt guilty for anything in a while. <Feign? You want to walk a bit with me?> With that he began his odd walk, concentrating solely on the sound of his footsteps, well tail steps, and being careful with where he placed his tail. After all there were holes, and even if he didn't mind the pain, he also didn't like falling on his face.

ooc;; Sorry, this is horridddd. x( bic;;
<It is,> Feign said a bit slowly, as if she were unsure of herself. Well, of course it was obvious, now that Sentret had explained it. She just... hadn't thought about it. Yes, that's what she was going with. Thinking wasn't her strong point, acting(well, miming) was.
Feign looked Sentret over as he spoke again, nodding slowly. Well, he was right, yet again. She should think these things over for herself. How did she think Sentret became so smart? By listening to other people, just like she was doing? That wasn't such a great idea, she finally figured. <I should,> she said, although it was a bit delayed. She decided then that she'd actually take the pokemon's advice and try to act upon her own thoughts. That was the smartest thing she'd told herself all day! She smiled slightly at this, then at Sentret once he gave her a 'you're welcome'.
Of course, thinking for herself during battle would have to come later. She had already lost, and was surely about to be rounded up by Rey, and called back to her pokeball. She turned to face him, as if she expected to be returned right then.
Instead, Rey was watching Sentret. He noticed that the little brown pokemon had hopped back a bit as he approached, but didn't think anything about it. He figured it was only natural for a wild pokemon to be weary of a bigger human.
Feign managed to remove her gaze from her trainer and rest it once more on Sentret as he began speaking. <Don't be ridiculous!> She giggled, her happiness seeming to return from nowhere. <You're stronger than I am, and you kind of taught me what to do in battle... so, you are!> What she failed to mention was that Sentret had essentially just hopped around, using virtually no energy. But then again, maybe Feign wasn't thinking... again.
Rey rolled his eyes at his pokemon, wishing once more that he could understand the banter that was currently being tossed between the two. He glanced to Sentret and, since he was being addressed, nodded in reply. The young man waved as Sentret began hopping away. "How nice, huh, Feign?" He asked, looking to his pokemon, beginning to bend down and scoop her up.
Feign nodded, but turned suddenly when she heard her name being called from the opposite direction. Rey paused. <Me?> the psychic-type asked, pointing a rounded hand to herself. Moments later, she nodded vigorously. <I'd love to!> Feign looked at Rey and would have stuck a finger out to signal 'one moment' if she actually had the fingers.
However, Rey understood and simply smiled as he said, "Be careful."
And so, with having received her permission, Mime Jr. floated in Sentret's direction and slowed when she drew even with him. She rose in the air slightly, so if she spoke, she'd be eye level with her new companion. Though, she wasn't sure if speaking was such a great idea at the moment. She didn't want to interrupt the sudden peacefulness she felt.

<So why did your traine--> The Sentret ended mid-sentence, that was none of his business. No doubt the odd human had a reason for doing what he did. Others always had reasons.
<Oh--no...> Only after the little creature had said that she "should" did he realize something. By telling her not to just blindly listen to what he said, he had allowed her to listen to him about not doing that. Which in itself was the definition of irony. With a nod of his rabbit like head he decided that he was not opening his mouth to say anything about that. No doubt she would take that as advice too.
<No offense, but to teach a baby how to fight isn't that hard.> They learned on their own for the most part. Practice made perfect, and it only took a push in the right direction for them to learn how to attack properly.
The Sentret hopped along the MIme. Jr. <Where are you going after this?> He questioned through his normal voice. Even though it was a question he didn't sound the least bit curious. He wasn't even looking at the little psychic type as he spoke. Ahead was a hole trough one of the bushes. With a nod at Feign, and a half hearted wave he paused: <Well time form e to continue on my walk. Good luck.> Then watching in amazement as the leaves parted for him to enter he hopped int the well disguised path, created by the passing of many wild pokemon.
(Yours was bad!? PAH!)
