The fish stared at the Meowth and rolled his eyes. Not to mention he chose not to reply. Continuing his fin slapping trek across the muddly woodland he was now a inch from his trainers knees, reaing up unsteadily on his tail he landed on her lap. I should slap her, blubbering over nothing. What would happen? The Meowth might get angry at him? Oh lordy now he was shaking in his boots. Besides she had made him feel bad, and he had gotten that infuriating water up his snout! It felt like he was choking! Looking like a king on a throne he peered down at the Meowth. Oh no. She wouldn't would she?
Aubre had snatched her hand back to her lap the second she had rolled the berry over. The young girl was genuinely frightened that the Meowth would have tried to scratch her. Both of her eyes had been closed as she had rolled the berry to the cat. Yet when she felt no pain she opened her eyes, and was surprised to see he was smiling at her. The last pokemon to smile at her had been Achilles. Well that was a smirk. Technically it had been her father's Surskit, when she had said goodbye.
Aubre found herself glancing down at the Meowth, both of her eyes were gleaming with a memory. She missed pokmeon she could touch. Achilles had a fear of being touched or grabbed, and Laan at the moment was covered in mud, and you really couldn't pet fish. Besides Laan seemed like the type to slap your hand away, and call you unworthy of the honor. Of course she didn't even know what he had been saying to the Meowth, Achilles had shown through. Laan might be nice after all. Aubre let a smile cross her face, and the glow transferred to her eyes. A glimpse into what she had once been.
Of course this was soon dimished. It had taken her this much time to realize that she was cold, it was windy, and she was soaked to the bone. Not to mention her ankle was scraped and bleeding, due to the branch from earlier. Opening her mouth to speak she closed it again. Had she smiled to soon? Was the Meowth going to attack her? Then he began to purr. Was he thanking her. "You're welco--" She could reach out and touch him if she wanted to, it wasn't as if she was goign to get her fingers anymore wet. Yet she wouldn't. "--me" She finished. On her lap the fish shifted position, so now all of his gaze of anger was fixed on the little feline. Little did he know that this girl was a better trainer then his attitude lead him to believe, if it had been the Meowth that would have attacked she would have had no problems. "On..twoo..three.." Aubreh ad returned to gazing at the ground, counting pebbles once again, or was it clumps of mud? [/blockquote]

The Meowth was starting to feel uncomfortable when he saw the fish staring at him. He did not reply to his outbursts at him, which made the Meowth feel ignored now. Unwanted and ignored....is this how it was supposed to go when he met new people? The berry had filled him up somewhat from the human, but the Meowth didn't know what to do. They probably would've appreciated him leaving right then and there, but then those darn trees would be picking on him again, making him fall and hurt. Whereas if he stayed here, he would continue to feel like this unless something happened that he would stay with them. So he just decided to stay for the moment...even if it meant a fish staring at him and him feeling uncomfortable.
When the Meowth saw some moments of the girl smiling at him, he felt better again and almost forgot that he was unwanted, or that the trees wanted to get him. She almost looked like a different person when that smile came; there was a certain something that went past all her stuttering and crying. It was like the girl in front of him was filled with confidence and a glow that made Meowth stand taller than he was standing earlier. The Meowth smiled up at this new girl, this new aura of confidence that was before him.
But, unfortunately, the moments soon went away, as the Meowth saw the aura go. The girl was the same as before; it was almost like the moments before were just dreams of what might've been. The mystifying moment was over, and the Meowth stood lower than what he was before yet again. Then, the Meowth saw a cut bleeding, which made him widen his eyes. The trees had attacked her as well! Now the Meowth felt a lot in common with this girl, and he didn't feel quite as unwanted or useless than before. The Meowth wanted to do something about the cut, but he found out that there was really nothing he could do besides look at it, or attempt to lick it. His tongue wasn't exactly the softest in the world, as he was a cat; most cats' tongues were rough in order to groom themselves.
When the girl said something of 'welcome', the Meowth nodded in acknowledgement and looked up at her again. When he heard her count or something of the sort, the Meowth looked at her confused....what was she counting? He turned toward the trees, this time glaring. <Stop hurting people and me! Honestly! We have never done anything to you! Look at what you did!> The Meowth called out to the trees with feeling, but when he felt the ominous wind again, he ducked his head in habit.

The fish on her lap had felt the change. The stiffening of muscles that had previously given up, and the glow from both brought a look of confusion to her face. All it took was a smile? Turning around he tried to procure the same effect, just to see if he could force her face into submission. Not surprisingly his muscles didn't form into a smile, and he gace up, returnng to glaring at the Meowth. The now fed Meowth, who was probably trying to beg more food off of his trainer even as they sat there. Closing his bright green eyes the fish moodily laid down.
Aubre leaned forward, and grabbed her soaked packing, which luckily for her everything important was incased in waterproof plastic, grabbing a bandage, and some antibiotic cream she brushed off her ankle, and wrapped the bandage around it. While it didn't smell strongly to her, it probably smelt very odd to a cat who hadn't spent months of his life in a hospital. Of course this whole process was very awkward, seeing as Laan had to keep moving to keep staring at the cat, and had even slapped her hand a few times on the way to the pack.' <Watch wehre you touch girl.> He replied cheekily. Even if she couldn't understand him.
Aubre pulled her leg back in, grimacing as she did so. This ointment burnt germs, but its sting was nothing like the hungry one of flames. Aubre turned back towards the Meowth, and realized how skinny he really was under all that damp fur. She could take him to the pokemon center, they'd get him fed and cleaned up. "You still hun--gry?" It was back. The ever present stutter, the one that showed her fear of the world, of evrything that could be aggressive and harm her. At the word hungry the Kreem waddled toward the backpack, leaving her wide, if not bony lap unoccupied.
The counting was a nerve mechanism, and now that she found herself not so nervous she had stopped. Reaching a muddy hand up to her face she removed a strand of auburn hair, which was obscuring her eyesight, revealing a scar that the Meowth could see but Laan coudn't. All of the sudden there was a bright burst of rd light, followed by a growl of irritation, as a very tired, but very pissed Achilles as the Statilee made his presence known.
Aubre didn't even realize she had done what she had until she had done it. Shaking she reached out a hand, and laid it on the Meowth's head, and glared at whatever he was scared of in the trees. Achilles took this oppurtunity to walk up to the Meowth and utter one long growl. <BOOOOOOOOOO!> It made him feel better. Aubre on the other hand yankedh er hand back. Mumbling something that sounded like 'very sorry..right ..shouldn't have..sorry..." It was then that Achilles fell face first into the mud, and growled in pain, sparks racing up and down his body. This drew a look of concern from Laan. [/blockquote]

The Meowth took a big breath for refreshment and to settle some of his nerves with the glaring fish. But when he did, he took in a smell that was so strong, but so foreign to him. He coughed as he inhaled it and sniffed the air some more for what in the world he was smelling. His nose led him to the trainer who fed him a berry, in which she was applying something. The Meowth watched and sniffed the substance of some sort...was that a Pokemon move of some kind...? He looked a bit closer, careful not to touch the cut leg. He had already scolded the trees and feared them for what hurt they caused throughout the world and to Pokemon and humans alike. Especially nice people; the fish hadn't been cut, and yet he was glaring at him and slapping the girl! The world was confusing to the Meowth, as he had appreciated reciprocation, nature seemed to take it a different way.
Then she asked the Meowth if he was hungry again. The truth was that he actually was still a bit hungry, but he didn't want to be rude and take even more food from the girl. After all, he wasn't really in a position to do so unless he was staying with her, which he wasn't. The Meowth also noticed that she stuttered yet again; in a way, it reminded him of himself, but he didn't stutter. Something inside the Meowth told him that the human in front of him was once outgoing and proud and confident to be who she was, and that stuttering was hardly a problem for her. But something happened that it all changed for some reason; she was stuttering and whatever glint she might've had in the past, was gone. The Meowth was just assuming this from the time he was spending with her, and it made him want to hug her or something. He glanced at a tree, but soon found himself running closer to the trainer again. The Meowth shook his head to her earlier question, even though he was lying, because he actually was a bit hungry.
Just then, as the Meowth was in front of her, not a very far distance from her, he felt a shaking hand go on his head. If it had been a tree, he would've scurried away, but something about her touch and aura made him stay. The Meowth let the hand touch his head as he appreciated the however slight movements it was giving. It then just occurred to him that she might see the flawed metal piece atop his head, but then he just let the thought fly away with the threatening trees. He felt safe with that hand atop his head for some odd reason. As the moment went on, the Meowth started to realize that he didn't belong in this forest of fearful trees; he wanted to stay with the human, however shocking that may be.
<Aaaaack!> The Meowth widened his eyes and scurried behind the trainer this time; he was not going to run behind a tree! It was just going to cut him or something...just like it did to her! The scare only made his decision less time; he wanted to stay with the trainer. He had heard about Pokeballs and such in order to really belong with a trainer, but he screwed it. Whether she was going to throw something at him or not, this Meowth was staying with her, hopefully. After a little while of silence from the other Pokemon, the Meowth made his way to the front of the girl again and purred, hoping that she got the idea.

AUbre stared down at the Meowth, and upon seeing him shake his head that he wasn't hungry, let out a little sigh. "Alr--ight the-n." If he really wasn't hungry then he wouldn't murder her for not feeding him. Laying herh and back in her sodden hoody she looked up at the darkening sky. It was getting darker, but she was still closer to Barkwish then Vhenkil. Laan glared up at her as she shifted her position, but didn't slap her hand this time, after all under that thick fabric it'd go relatively unfelt. Laan's gaze then snapped back to the little elctric dragon, who was trying to stand up, but to no avail. WHy didn't the girl pick him up and help him!? She wasn't afraid of getting dirty!
Aubre had now realized what had happened to Achilles. Both of her green eyes were wide as saucers, and seemed to be shaking with fear, and a deep ingrown hesitance to do something. Achilles would bite her if she did, but she needed to get rid of the paralysis, for this was surely what the sparks were a sign of. The little Shinx had overloaded him with the attack he had used, and had made him all but immobile. Shifting her torso she reached into the mud, watching Achille's bright orange eyes for signs of anger, seeing none she quickly leaned the rest of the way over and lifted him from the mud. Holding him against her chest with one hand she slowly reached for her bag, closing her eyes and waiting for a pinprick that would come, that never did. Grabbing a yellow liquid filled bottle from its depth she nsapped back, and genty spritzed it up and down the length of Achilles body, who slowly reoped his closed eyes, and snapped out. Drawing blood from Aubre's arm, with his bite, just to drive his warning stick. <Don't touch me.> Feeling a little better he fell to the ground with a growl, and stared at the Meowth, which lost half of its intimidation because of the mud dripping down his snout.
Aubre hadn't even noticed as the little Meowth had run behind her, and if she had the thought itself would have made her laugh. Well if she laughed much anymore. It was one of those things that might people mad if you did it at them. So she tried her best not to laugh at anyone's mistakes. When Achiles and Laan had stopped coldly looking at eachother, trying to deny the grudging friendship between them, they turned to the Meowth. Oh.
Aubre looked at the little feline, did he want to be petted again? Whath ad he wanted, purring meant he was happy? Was he saying farewell. He wasn't asking..was he? Looking at the Meowth, she pulled her hands from their new position in their pocket, and slowly reached for one of little red and white balls around her waist. Pulling it out she rolled it around in her palm, shook her head and gestured for Laan to move. There was no way that's hwat he wanted, he was probably just hungry again. The fish stayed, and gestured to the Meowth. "O--h." Had he said something to the pair, or did they just understand him better then her?

The Meowth widened his eyes when he saw the other Pokemon bite the trainer girl. She didn't deserve that! So the Meowth took it upon himself to only ever so slightly give a look to the Pokemon. It did look intimidating, though with the mud dripping down his snout, the Meowth even had the nerve to give it a look of some kind. He didn't feel welcome among the Pokemon, but the Meowth did like the trainer who fed him and gave him protection of some kind. He didn't want to bite her or disrespect her; not if she was so nice to him and even glared at the wooden death. The Meowth hoped that she would let him stay with her and let her train him or something; that would be fun. The Pokemon with her though didn't look as fond of him; they probably wouldn't care if he shriveled up and died. The thought made the Meowth sigh and look down, and the bite of the other Pokemon to the girl made him feel sad. He couldn't do anything to help her since he only knew a weak scratch, which was barely going to do him any good.
The Meowth eyed the white and red ball that the girl was holding in her hand. He held his arm out toward it, trying to tell her that he wanted to be caught. The trees were too much trouble for him and they seemed like they'd kill him anytime, actually. His burrow was also somewhere in the middle of trees, so that was supremely fearful. The Meowth stood a distance in order for the ball to open up enough to catch him. He hoped that her Pokemon wouldn't mind since they didn't seem to fancy him all that much. So he purred again, in hopes of telling her that he was ready.((Muse is gone.... ))

The Statilee peered at the 'glaring' Meowth. Then smirked. His white teeth gleaming under his fien coat of gooey mud. <Well--that's somthing. Amazing, you didn't like tha--*cough*> A glare? It was trying to look intimidating, not that it ended up succeeding, it tried. So it wanted to protet his trainer, or stay? Fine. The Dragon huffed and turned away from the Meowth, and stumbled away, he really didn't want to be a wimp and get tere in a pokeball, and he'd like to see his trainer force him! He hadn't lost that Shinx had just cheated. He'd pay for that eventaully, but he could live for now. The Meowth might grow a backbone, of course it seemed to much like his trainer to do so.
Aubre thought she had done something wrong when the Meowth had sighed, reaching out a hand to touch him, she realized his eyes had been fixed on her arm, and then he looked down. "O--h th--at's Achille--s for yo--u. " In all reality Achilles had never really hurt her that badly, and th last battle they had won he had allowed her to rest her hand on his head for the briefest of seconds, he had just snapped today because he had felt helpless. Aubre was still under the impression that the Meowth wanted some more food, not seeing a reason for it to want to go with her. Yet everytime she sat up Laan shook his head. Then the little feline reached for the Pokeball.
Aubre's vain attempts at rising stopped. A smile flickered across her face. When he backed up she raised a hand to stop him, onyl for him to sit down and purr. Nodding slowly she raised the pokeball, went to throw it and stopped. Throwing had been something she had to go through mroe then oce the only thing, she usually missed. So instead she pressed the button on the pokeball, and leaned forward so it was almost touching the cats nose. HEr stomach was sucked in so as to avoid crushing the fish in her lap. "I Promi--se it won't hu--rt." How the hell could she promise that!? She had no idea! But frankly she seemed to want to reassure herself. "But It--s too danger--ous." The Girl went to yank her arm back, she had a criminal wanting to kill her when he got out of jail, and she didn't want to make him leave his home.
The little fish jumped from her lap, and hopped until he reached her hand, upon doing so he jumed up, and pressed it to the button, causing her to yelp, the fish then skittered away as the ball opened in a burst of red light. <Ignore her bub--the trees are mroe dangerous then what we do. I can attest to that.> Such a lie! With that done he began sliding through the mud to assist Achilles in the short walk back to Barkwish. Not that he'd adccept the help.
"Oh....well...heh." The old Aubre would have celebrated, the new one was hesitant, what if the Meowth changed his mind?

The Meowth watched as the girl went toward him with the Pokeball to his nose. He then felt some kind urge as he felt light surge within himself. Woah... What's happening to me?! The Meowth allowed himself to be sucked into the seemingly small ball as he felt himself enclosed. He knew he had enough energy to get out, but this was what he wanted. *Wobble* Wobble* *Ding!*
[!] Woot! Aubre caught a Meowth
