Akari grumbled as she backtracked into Isabella plains. She hated backtracking. Unfortunately, it was necessary, since Kraii still was on level five, and her little meowth was on level four. It was almost embarrasing. She'd need much higher level pokemon to beat the gym leader.
Kraii growled to herself as she angrily followed Akari into Isabella Plains. Why were they back here? They had found that stupid meowth here! She didn't need to be on a leash anymore, the meowth had gotten that privelage, her trainer was scared that he'd see something shiny and leave. Plus, she was way too mature to be dragged along on that stupid thing.
Our little meowth friend slided along the dirt, being pulled by Akari. "Wheeee!" He called to the wind.

Well more then the wind heard the hyper meowth. Up above a small group of pidgey's shifted on their perches. Water beaded from their feathers as they shook ut the last of the morning dew. None of them were above levl 5, most of them were level 3. Yet judging by the large sizes of some you wouldn't have guessed it. The smallest, and boss bird watched as the trainer approached. <So early as well! Soem humans need to learn some respect.> Beside him the small floxk whistled its agreement. All they had to do was wait quietly, which was hard with all the rumbling bellys.
Hearing a few whispers the petite male pidgey glanced angrily about. Of course as usual no one volunteered themselves for a nice taste of their senior's wings. So as usual no one pointed Feathers and they all stayed quiet. Except for the occasional movement of a wing or a 'shush.'. There was no doubt they had been heard the boss just wanted to teach discipline.

The meowth was upside down, being dragged along the dirt. He saw the pidgeys in the tree. "Hullo pidgeys!" He said, waving. Kraii scowled. "What the hell are you talking about?" she asked angrily, not even looking at the meowth. "There aren't any-" then she saw it. Brown feathers in a tree. Not sure why, she leapt forward, unto Akari's shoulder. "Stop!" She yelled. "A flock of pidgeys are waiting for you!" She exclaimed in her trainer's ear.
"Ow!" Akari exclaimed. Her pokemon was yelling in her ear. "What gives?" She scowled and looked ahead. She couldn't see the pidgeys. "Come on, let's go. We need to battle so you guys can level up." She said, stepping forward.
Kraii sighed and leapt off of her shoulder. Why should she warn Akari? It's not like Akari would understand her. Plus, she probably wouldn't care if she got a little scratch before Kraii and meowth tried to attack the small flying types.

<Can we now--huh?Can we> A overeager pidgey inquired loudly. His brown eyes glancing eagerly at the path, he hadn't battled in ages. A wing in the beak stopped him. The glance from his lord told him they only had a little longer to wait.
They all knew they had been spotted. Why was he forcing him to wait! When the trainer came directly underneath them they would find out why. The element of suprise always did its work. Well almost always.

Kraii flexed her small muscles as they approached. Shoot! she thought. They have the type advantage! She growled in frustaration. Well, at least she had another pokemon on her side, and it was a whole level higher than her... yeah, he could take out all of those pidgeys. She glanced at the powerhouse meowth.
"Mooooow! Moooooow! Meooooow!" he sang, holding on to the vine with his claws, letting himself be dragged along by Akari.
Kraii sighed. Okay, time to switch plans, because the first one, the one about the powerhouse meowth didn't look like it'd go so well.
Akari kept on walking, thinking about all the pokemon she'd battle, when she tripped over a small stone, directly under the tree the pidgeys were hiding in. She swore quite a bit on the floor, and started to get up.

<Now we can go!> Th small pidgey cawedfrom his position up in the trees. With a chorus of happy whistles they descended on the party. It was a good thing that Akara had tripepd when she did. Almost every bird missed her, and a few crashed into the trees on the other side of the path.
Yet one unlucky level three spearow found his long clws entangled in Akari's hair. Thrashing like he did only made things worse, turning the teenagers hair into a tumbleweed of tangles and pain, the claws weren't padded after all. Not to mention his beak was thrown in the mix.
The leader hung back in the trees, and surveyed his troops. Two a level 3 and a level 2 had wnet after the Meowth while a level five dove beak first into Kraii.

The meowth leapt up, Akari had dropped his vine, and he turned to the level two one. Laughing maniacally, he leapt forward, attempting to bite it on the neck.
Kraii glared at the approaching burd bird pokemon. She suddenly leapt forward in a tackle, hoping to catch it off guard with her quick attack. She wanted to help Akari for some strange reason... but she was too busy with this one. She snarled as she flew threw the air, the leaf on her head spinning and her red eyes that Akari had fallen in love with; flashing.
Akari let out a cry of pain. What the hell was on her head! It was soooo sharp! And it was digging into her skin. She stiffled her next cry; it wouldn't help. She lifted her trembling hands up to her scalp, grabbed whatever the heck was on her, and pulled. It was painful, but she wanted it to be gone!

The level two featily beat its wings against the mewoth. Throwing in a few small thrusts of its beak now and again. Through a lot of struggle he managed to make the bite attack diflect to his lower wing area. A much less serious problem.
Meanwhile the spearows around Kraii closed in. Their wings spread to prevent Kraii frmom..running. Yet before they knew it the pokemon had slammed into them knocking them to the dusty ground and causing their breathing to increase.
The bird cntinued thrashing in Akari's hair. It wanted free right now! Through all its struggles it only managed to hook its claws into Akari;s scalp.

A few pecks hit the meowth, maybe one or two, but nothing serious. {Owww!} he complained with a glare. This little birds were making him angry! He hissed, and leapt at the same level two one, another bite on his jaws. Stupid birds.
Kraii refused to show her fear. Instead, she just narrowed her eyes more and flew at them, more tackles quickly approaching. She'd show them to mess with her! She turned her head quickly to look at Akari as her trainer let out another cry of pain. She swore that after she took care of these ones she'd go help her trainer. Then, she glared at the ones in front of her and continued with his tackle.
get OUT of my hair! PLEASE!!! PLEASE GET OUT OF MY HAIR!

The pidgey was thinking the exact same thing at the moment. What manner of infernal fur was this! Realizing struggling was Futile he let his claws go limp, and surprisingly enough found a way to pull most of his feet out of her hair. leaving him hanging backwards by his talons, which was more pleasureful then all the tangles in this humans fur!
The pidgey in front of the Meowth yelped as it was thrown to the ground. This time the jaws hit home, but didn't dig in deep enough to do much damage. Seconds later the Flying-type was wreaking havoc on the meowth with its talons, hoping tht one orf the desperate attacks would make it back off. It didn't want to be eatem~
The two spearows managed to clumsily fly out of Kraii's way. Lucky for them, of course they did bump into eachother on the way to leave, leaving them sqauwking at eachother.
Up above the highest level pidgey watched with keen disinterest. His black eyes silently appraising his flock. Causing him to wince every few seconds as another attack was launched, and hopefulyl repelled.

Akari took a sigh and sat down, putting her hands around her knees. The thing was still in her hair, but it wasn't going crazy like before. She looked at her pokemon, and enjoyed the battle.
Some of the attacks hit Sandtail, but not many since they were so frantic. The ones that did hit, though, hit him in the face and in the stomach, and hurt badly. It was a bit scary to have a mad pidgey thrashing it's claws at him, but he didn't care. He leapt forward again, another bite on its way. He didn't want to kill the pidgey, just to knock him out. He wasn't sure if the pidgey knew that, though. Oh well, doesn't matter. He told himself.
Kraii burst out in laughter at the squabbling pidgeys then stopped, realizing she had just missed her chance. She shook her head. Stupid!!!! she told herself. Then, she glared at the two, and, aiming at one of them with another tackle.

Glad at the lack of movement below the pidgey pushed himself up with his wings and sat on the girl's head. If she moved to much she was in for it! Glaring down into the tangles of the girls once well maintained hair he hissed. His beak was poised for action, this had hurt him too! Especially all the swatting she had done with her hands!
Down below the small Pidgey succumbed to the next bite attack. Although he had managed to peck randomly hoping to catch one of the Meowth's whiskers, or nose, or anything to make it back off for a few seconds. Not to mention the scrapes around his body were starting to take their toll!
The Two spearows turned just in time to see Kraii jumping towards them. the larger one shoved the much dawrvier one into the Grista's path. Sending them tumbling in a roll of feathers and fur.

Akari crossed her arms around her chest angrily. She knew the bird would peck her if she swatted at it anymore. Fine. She could sit here and wait. Stupid pidgey.
The peck attack landed directly on Sandtail's noise. {Ow!} he glared at the pidgey. {You'll pay for that!} He launched himself at it, with another bite, knowing, since it was on such a low level, it's energy should be draining quickly. Right? Oh well, he bit and bit and bit, hoping at least one of his furious attacks would hit.
Kraii tumbled to the ground, the smaller pidgey beside her. {Get off me!} She screamed, thrashing around. Her red eyes were angry. Finally, she untangled herself, and stood, speaking to the pidgey who was still on the ground. {Say goodbye, birdy.} She hissed in it's ear, and launched forward in another tackle. She had to be quick if she wanted to help Akari.

The Pidgey on top of the trainer's head was satisfied. It wouldn't be attcked in its current position. It would be fine for a while, sitting here, at least until it's boss got ahold of him, or the girl batted him into the fray. Where he desperately didn't want to go, now that he saw his companions losing. That meowth was the one that scared him.
The Pidgey finally stopped his frnezied pecking, and laid still onn the ground. A number of small bite holes making the birds body resemble a kitche sife. It was still breathing though, strangeled, and rapidly, but breathing.
The small birdo n the ground did the only thing it could do. Using its legs for leverage, it pushed itself up while flinging dirt in the creature in front of it eyes. Hopefully that would buy it some time to get away from the tree blocking its flight path out of here, and its way back to the boss.
